  1. The Action - In My Lonely Room The Jam were untouchable from 78-80. I liked some of his Style Council stuff (the early years) but think his solo stuff started brilliantly, went safe for a few years, then he started using younger musicians and it reinvigorated him and his last 4 albums have been much better. He looks like Steptoe these days though - too many fags and sun loungers!
  2. You a Dylan fan by any chance Gav? lol The Jam - Down in the Tube Station at Midnight. Tony Blackburn played this on the Radio 1 review show 'Round Table' upon its release. He said something along the lines of "I'm sick of these punks singing about violence all the time". It was a phone-in programme where listeners could give their views on the songs. Paul Weller phoned in........
  3. Dexys Midnight Runners - Thankfully Not Living in Yorkshire it Doesn't Apply
  4. I had all but written off Lancashire's T20 season, but looking at the table after last night's game we are actually in with a fair chance of qualifying for the quarter finals now!
  5. Department S - Is Vic There?
  6. The Family - Nothing Compares 2 U
  7. The Jam - Pity Poor Alfie
  8. Thought it was 2 years?
  9. Demis Roussos - Happy to be on an Island in the Sun You wouldn't think so with the way he turned out, but also part of the mod culture in his early days. Also, his mate Evangelos Odysseas Papathanassiou (Vangelis) ended up making amazing music with our very own Jon Anderson
  10. Maybe because he enjoyed his time here, knows he'll be well regarded by the fans, has had first hand, extended experience of what it's like to be unhappy (and unused) at a club and didn't want to risk experiencing that again at his age? Few players will care about most of the stuff that is bothering us vis a vis owners and board room issues.
  11. The Beatles - Nowhere Man
  12. Roy Orbison - Only the Lonely The most wonderful voice I've ever heard.
  13. Woakes is an unbelievable cricketer. Has a team ever had two all rounders as good, and whose names rhyme as well?? Disclaimer - I don't class wicketkeeper/batsmen as all rounders not do I think Moeen Ali (or any of the others) is good enough at either discipline to be classed as an international standard all rounder.
  14. The Jam - Man in the Corner Shop
  15. Neil Young - Don't Cry No Tears
  16. Bettye Swann - Today I Started Loving You Again
  17. Thought the Lancs captain was poor again - missed a trick with the D/L target. Buttler should have opened the batting - the weather forecasters were completely accurate.
  18. Paul Weller - Shadow of the Sun
  19. Everything But the Girl - Me and Bobby D
  20. Meatloaf and Cher - Dead Ringer for Love
  21. Queen and David Bowie - Under Pressure
