  1. Man and the Echo - I Don't Give a Fuck What You Reckon
  2. If true that is a shocking stat as we seem to have let plenty in during that time. Dunny’s equaliser at Ewood against the inbreds felt like a winner right enough, but even that must be what, 8 or 9 years ago now.
  3. McEnroe in the tennis is another one.
  4. Elvis Presley - Way Down
  5. Lindisfarne - Run For Home
  6. From the sublime to the ridiculous, literally.... Bennie Hill - Ernie (The Fastest Milkman In the West)
  7. Chuck Berry - Memphis, Tennessee
  8. To be fair in terms of qualifying for tournaments in the last few years I doubt whether many countries have done so with as much ease as England have.
  9. I think Laurence preferred to call them ‘the shit’ Tyrone 😂😂
  10. Thelma Houston - Don’t Leave Me This Way
  11. Wasn’t it Pedersen that scored that late winner, rifling one in from an acute angle at the Darwen End?
  12. Freda Payne - Band of Gold
  13. That was Patty’s debut. He came on as sub. Bob Saxton told him to start warming up and when he asked who he was coming on for Sacko said something like “whoever gives the ball away next!” 😂 I recall a dour 0-1 home defeat on a miserably wet Boxing Day in the late 80s or early 90s against (I think) Notts County as being a particularly poor game.
  14. Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers - Free Fallin’
  15. Gorillaz - Fire Coming Out of a Monkey’s Head
  16. The Pretenders - Back on the Chain Gang
  17. I believe it is pronounced Joan Dale
  18. There was no pressure on us to win it for the previous 30 years though
  19. We do have at least one Jim; Adam Wharton. He should be in the side now. I appreciate that he probably can't play every game but he should be the go-to guy for that slot.
  20. And yet they went on a fantastic run after he got banned?
  21. The Poets - Baby Don't You Do It Classic mod cover of a Marvin Gaye single by Glasgow band, The Poets, back in 1966.
  22. Indeed - him and Ray Kennedy were a lethal partnership for Arsenal in the early 70s
  23. I think most people would agree that it’s a very real possibility. Even United fans who were around at that time, if they are being honest, would admit that if they had been put under pressure in the last ten games the weight of not having won the league for almost 30 years might have done for them, just as it did the previous season when Leeds won it. I have posted previously that another ‘sliding doors’ moment was letting Speedie go as part of the Shearer deal. Had we had him to come in after King Al’s Boxing Day injury I also think we would have won the league. His partnership with Newell was already tried and tested, albeit in the second tier. Great pub discussion 🍻
