Championship - 22-23

That absolute C of a man Mike Ashley has just given Coventry City an eviction notice to leave the CBS Arena at the end of the season. He effectively tore up the agreement they had with Wasps and offered worse terms. There's already one abandoned stadium in the city (the speedway track), and there looks like there will be an even bigger one soon. -

We can win against France if we don't play the sloppy walking football we played against the USA, and for the first 30 minutes or so tonight. If we're that passive and static we will be walloped. -

It's a bit difficult being half Welsh, but also an England fan. I want both to do well , and the latter is my first team in football but I have no time for little Englanders who sneer and deride everyone else in the UK. -

Yep, and him. His pace is really dangerous. -

France looked like you could get at them in the 1st half. Mind you, Mbappe running at our defenders would be stressful to watch. -
Football Terminology

Defensive line breaks sounds like something from American football. On a wider sporting theme I can't stand the word physicality being used instead of strength. It's a bit like the new word criminality that seems to have appeared in the last 10 years. -

The only faults I can say we're the goal, that chance Pickford tipped over and the last few minutes at 6-1. The other 156 minutes of the game were brilliant. And that was not a penalty for Iran. -

Not strictly Premier League but I've noticed Everton and Celtic have gone to Sydney for one of those silly friendly cups normally played in pre season. I wonder if either will complain about fixture congestion later on some time. -

Dier always has a mistake in him. He's a clogger with little intelligence on the pitch. Anyway, that blackmailing turd Benzema is out of the world cup. -

Mr. Infantile (sic) shows his desperation again. Excusing all he horrible things that have gone into Qatar hosting the tournament, and the general bigotry the ruling class of that country enforce with an iron fist. I've not read the full comments, but I imagine he mentioned the West African slave trade of the 1700s as well. A trade maintained by rival African tribes , and hundreds of years ago. -

Apart from the 7-0 against Fulham, the 7-0 or 7-1 against Man Utd, that game against Tottenham and many more that others with a better memory can recall. Some people need a reality check if they think a team with a midfield with an average age of about 19, one decent forward, and a new manager picking up a squad that has had a few important players leave on Bowman's can really challenge consistently over a season. One bad result and JDT is as bad as Coyle, and then if we win the next two he'll be great again. -

Get Dack on ASAP. We need to actually have a threat and not just hold on. -
Pakistan seemed to lose all confidence when Afridi went off. It was 50/50 up until then. Once Stokes and Ali got a few boundaries immediately after, they just looked like they were waiting for the defeat.

The BBC has the formation as a back 3 with Brittan on the left, and Hedges on the right. I'd prefer Brittan in his natural position but I guess Pickering is not fancied today. -
Maguire, Dier and Rashford are the three I would not have picked. The rest I have no opinion really.

They're going to love it in the new year and they win about 2 games in 15!

He's probably going to strip out the company, make it a very lean operation, then pocket as much money as he can before selling it on to someone like Tencent or an Arab led consortium. The whole 'freedom of speech' talk is nonsense as Musk s balls deep in with the Chinese government with his massive factories and other interests there. -
It would be mad if he was the owner. as mad as all his Hyperloop type projects that are absolute garbage but look cool. He has some very good ideas, but also his eccentric personality would mean we'd probably be a bit like Watford, with managers coming and going, and/or saying stuff on social media about other teams and figures within the game. It wouldn't be boring, that's for sure. We may even get a visit from his mate Xi Xingping.

Enough with the weedy rap or lemon squash indie nonsense, we need some hard hitting music like these: https://youtu.be/z8ZqFlw6hYg

I was wondering what would happen to City since Wasps went into administration. If artificial pitches are allowed in the football league then there's the Butts Park Arena. However, that is a hell of a lot smaller, and they'd have to fit it around Coventry RFU's schedule. Otherwise it'll be back to Northampton or Birmingham City short term. -

Saudi Arabia has a chance then. They want to market themselves as a player in the sport/entertainment arena, and not just an exporter of religious terrorism and oil, hence Anthony Joshua fighting there in the past. We all know how persuasive they will be if they're serious in the bid 😉. -
Rugby League
Norbert Rassragr replied to Claytons Left Boot's topic in I Can't Believe It's Not Football
That's......highly unlikely. The league team would give away so many penalties, and since League doesn't really punish high tackles, crossing etc. they'd probably get at least two yellow cards if we were playing union rules. Oh, and they'd give away penalties in almost any scrum. Then you have mauls, rucks, no 6th tackle rule. I wish I could watch the NRL, as the quality of play is great, but the last time I watched our domestic game, it was dire. All they did was drive up the middle with a big ox until the 4th tackle, then try and do something different. There were 2 games between the top teams in each code in the 90s (possibly Bath vs. Wigan when Offiah and Edwards were playing), and both teams won the game in their respective codes. And that was when union was either amateur, or just had turned professional.
