  1. Nah. I'm not a fan of going to the cinema, and was never into 80s Tom Cruise films. I do wonder if Maverick has accepted his homosexuality in the sequel though.
  2. I admire your natural optimism Chaddy, and I hope it does rain, but generally speaking I skip this race. We don't even have Mazepin to somehow screw things up this year and push a car into the barriers when being lapped.
  3. Can't stand Real Madrid, but also not too bothered about Liverpool winning.
  4. Leclerc should win barring another engine mishap or awful tyre change.
  5. It sounds like a police panic after the stadium staff have screwed up opening gates for fans from the bits and pieces I've read.
  6. Pierre Van Hoojidonk has a big name, I wonder what he is up to nowadays.
  7. I find Monaco dull as hell, and there will be even less over taking now the cars are as long as canal boats. The scenery is nice though.
  8. Surely it would be wiser to bin Pears, and maybe the Greek guy, and have Eastman or a youth player as 2nd choice. Or send the promising youngsters on loan to a League 1 club and bring in a veteran who is happy to stand in when needed.
  9. Andy Fletcher, founding member and keyboardist of Depeche Mode died at the age of 60.
  10. Now VW are in the mix with both Porsche and Audi joining, it will be interesting to see who they'll team up with. Porsche will probably work with Red Bull, and effectively rebrand their engine, but Audi want to be more involved in running a team, or so the rumours say. Williams, Haas and Alfa Romeo would be current candidates for such involvement. Strange to have one company making two engines, with all the costs, and not just having the same engine with a different name.
  11. If you scroll past that picture quickly it looks like the statue is made from teeth or bones. And what is it with Arab owners and dodgy statues? Fulham had that comical Michael Jackson one when Al-Fayed owned them.
  12. I'll guess some scouting, but mainly the admin dealing with player contracts, trying to find untapped talent, try to oversee the youth teams and so on.
  13. We all know it will be something like this: Sporting Director: John Gregory Head Coach: David Dunn.
  14. Well, he's crap and it'll be a sign of further decay and decline. I admit I didn't know he never got relegated, but we have several players out of contract, our top scorer likely to be sold, a dysfunctional ownership set up and massive debts. I believe we need better than Grayson to avoid another trip to League 1 or at least a flirtation with that. and Dunn is a complete tool who is a terrible coach.
  15. Grayson, with the possibility of Dunn as assistant/coach? Nightmare fuel. Simon is good at getting promoted from League 1, and he'd need to be again if he got as long as Mowbray.
  16. Better than Kean or Coyle but that's a very low bar. He blew his big chance this season and couldn't decide on a team, formation or get the right players in at the right time.
  17. Wasn't Hasselbaink kicked out of the QPR job because he had links to a particular agent/agency as well as being pretty rubbish?
  18. Put a few pounds on a few names, but not the good ones. Woodgate, Grayson, Venus, Lennon and Hughton. Hughton was rubbish at Forest, but may do better at a new job. I'm in profit if any of them get the job, though I'd be delighted to lose the £10 on those bets.
  19. According to what you've been told Mercer, will there be a proper appointment, or a member of the coaching team as a caretaker?
  20. The only reason Jürgen Klopp is so successful at Liverpool is because he's very expressive and vocal during a match. Nothing to do with knowing how to coach, or being a great motivator.......Sorry but Dunn was a good player at Rovers, but that does not mean he should get a job because he was in the same youth team as a first team coach here. It's that kind of thinking that allowed Myles Anderson to get a contract, or sons of legendary players or managers to waltz into the youth teams of that particular club regardless of ability. Why not go the whole hog and have Tim Sherwood, with Henning Berg as assistant, Jeff Kenna and Brad Friedel as coaches?. Stuart Ripley can do the legal paperwork regarding any sale of Brockhall.
  21. Yeah, I agree. Slow internet, The Pink Newspaper with the football results and all that. Now, there's no sense of discovery and wonder when the whole world is plugged into the big computer. Things like the internet, camera phones and so on are taken for granted. There's so much information, disinformation, so many products vying for your attention that it's hard to appreciate events or time.
  22. I wouldn't want Dunn near the club. He strikes me as a bit thick in terms of football coaching, and has failed wherever he has been a coach. Those who think that he should have a job because he is a local guy who played here for a long time should get real and stop being sentimental.
  23. I have relatives in New Zealand, and friends from school, and where I grew up who are now about 40 like me. I used Facebook to keep in touch and see what they've been doing but I deleted my account a while ago. Instead of being a facility for that sort of thing, it was pumping out all sorts of nonsense about American politics, Jeremy Corbyn etc. with the associated comments about Trump being either the next Jesus, or Satan, everyone being a 'Communist' or stupid if you disagreed with some person's comment.........It can get to you sometimes and make you act like one of those goons on phone in shows. It was the blatant propaganda during the US election, with the clickbait articles, bad comedy and frankly arrogant muppets who were triggered by it that made me opt out. That, and the massive personal data rape that goes on. I've never been interesting or vain enough for your Instagram or Tik Tok. I believe the latter is Chinese owned, a country that has invested millions in facial recognition technology, and forces companies to share all their data with the government. If I'm right, that's a bit suspicious.......
  24. Phew, at least Pardew is unavailable if he has gone to some corrupt East European league. Mowbray simply has to go, but with Venky HQ apparently being in some part of India with no telephones, internet or whatever, it won't be a quick decision. I expect a new manager in about 2 weeks before next season starts.
  25. We had a chance of promotion, but a bonehead of a manager and players who are not interested have just about blown it. No clue, no heart, little skill or application. Mowbray out, and Venkys out.
