  1. Chapman looked ok going forward but our defence needs sorting out. Both goalies fancied themselves as a Heuer/Edison sweeper keeper but sometimes rushed out and played the short passes at the wrong time. And the central defence lacked that leader and organiser who can just get the ball away from the penalty area.
  2. I'd like to se the VE day match, or the 7-0 win against Forest again. The game of my era that I couldn't go to then but would wish to visit was Anfield 1995.
  3. Just put a picture of Vivian Stanshall's face on it until we get a proper sponsor. It will hopefully distract and confuse the opposition a bit.
  4. Anyone here used to play in goal at school or in the Sunday leagues? Give Barry Bling a call and you might get a trial.
  5. He's been good, but the lack of self awareness in having a go at others is what I was having a go at. And remember, David May won quite a few medals in his career despite being rubbish, and there are probably others. Barcelona have always been weak in defence, even when Pep was manager. They don't have the players in midfield to keep the ball for 90 minutes to stop the other team getting at them any more.
  6. I saw o e headline saying Pique is demanding changes. Bye then, you over rated wind bag. Barcelona have been ignoring their defence for years, and this is the result in spunking billions on the subs bench with attackers like Dembele and Griezmann.
  7. No players in then. We must have some brilliant youngsters then.
  8. How many of us would be performing facial gymnastics like the end of this clip when we hear Jerome Anderson and/or Steve Kean have died?
  9. A solid base is imperative, which means one experienced, good defender to go with Lehinen (I can never remember how to spell his name), a proper left back and a goalkeeper who is not some agency temp that is covering someone on maternity leave so to speak. It is not looking quite so secure right now, as we have no decent left back, no tough, commanding centre back and no goalkeeper with more than a couple of first team appearances for any first team.
  10. And they made 55 people redundant. Mesut gives it large about being a Muslim, Turkish and therefore an outsider in Europe, but he's a crap Muslim if he is sponging money whilst others are losing their jobs. A greedy, lazy nob is just that, whatever the ethnic and religious background.
  11. Still have to sort out the top order. Root is best at number 4, and Stokes was a bit too high at number 4. The current opening combination are too slow in getting runs, and there is no number 3. Perhaps one of Sibley or Burns can drop in there and a more swashbuckling, attacking opener should be tried again a la Warner, Hayden or Sehwag. We can't keep hoping one of Buttler, Pope or Stokes stops a collapse.
  12. Still no sign of a goalkeeper then. You'd think that it would be important to have one with experience, and not have say an 18 year old who has never played at this level trying to organise a defence. What odds we'll get Steele back on deadline day or before the first game?
  13. It'll only be enforced on clubs that the EFL consider too small to count. Higher profile clubs will not incur any penalties.
  14. Pretty much like last season, have a period where we think we can get to the play offs, and then fizzle out. Only next season will be further away from the play offs at the end.
  15. Does Bradley drive her round in a pink Rolls Royce? I never understand women who do that sort of thing to their face thinking, it is what men (or women) find attractive. After all, Botox is the most toxic chemical known to science and they put it into their face.
  16. Looks like someone got a bit premature on the Wikipedia site. No idea who Phillips is, but he might be good. Shotton would have been good a few years ago, from when Pulls and Hughes were managers but he may have gotten too old and slow since then.
  17. Eddie probably needs some time to chill out with his family, and watch some football without the pressure of results to improve. I can see him being linked with West Ham when Moyes is inevitably sacked, and meets up with the British Managers Association.
  18. Very naughty of you to make stuff up like that!
  19. "When I said curl one past the keeper towards the far post......"
  20. Had a good day in Birmingham yesterday with my dad. Had lunch at the Indian Streatery on Bennett's Hill, and it was brilliant.
  21. That would be funny, seeing as he was the hero in ousting Septic Bladder, Jack Warner and all the other corrupt bosses. It shouldn't be surprising though as the dodgy business is so ingrained in FIFA that it would be more than a few senior figures at the top.
  22. You know when you get a bit of sick hitting the back of your throat...........? My contempt of Talksport is clearly well founded.
  23. Yes, but I meant 11th-15th is about all we can achieve. Some seem happy to be in that position until we need a fire sale and end up with a squad of Wes and Chris Browns.
  24. Changed your bogeyman from Phil Brown then. Oh well, I guess we must stay with Tony and finish 14th every season.
