Players who never quite made it
Norbert Rassragr replied to roverandout's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
Le Tissier is the opposite of Ronaldo in terms of drive and desire. He had huge ability, but was in the comfort zone's hotel in terms of how hard he pushed himself to be the best. -

Robin was also on a Super Furry Animals cover. Man don't give a f--k I think. -

I remember my dad and his mates waking me up when Platt scored against Belgium. We lived in Hong Kong which his about 8 hours ahead, and it was probably being hosted by a a teacher in my school called Paul Cunningham on the TV. -

S--t on the villa. Good to see they may have a moment of fear. The fans have delusions of adequacy, and it might upset junkie Merson if they imploded. -
Hey let us make any convoluted equation to show that our country is relevant. I remember Australia doing the same during the 2008 Olympics when they could not handle Britain spanking them in the medals table. Don't bite the hand that feeds you dryhorse, or one day the rest of the UK will stop subsidising all your methadone. Enjoy watching the world cup, knowing that even if England lose 8-0 every game, they did better than an embittered nation whose identity is defined by the hatred of one nation, and the pathetic apeing and idolisation of the difficulties of another.

Yes it is a blatant Scottish accent, but the whole of Great Britain is 'England' to Americans because they are insular and thick.
-
Generally speaking it is rubbish, but there are some players good enough for the Premier league and a promotion challenging championship team. As a competition for the title, it is non existent.
-
So when are we going to get the £20m+ needed to overhaul our squad and challenge the relegated teams' financial power? And it is about finding the right players in those leagues. Players like Damien Duff, Tugay, Delli Alli or Jamie Vardy.

That's what I thought, but I think the shirt sponsor was a children's hospice. -

So a consortium led by a former agent, with Paul Senior who I believe has links to certain agents might take over Vile. And with no idea who the British business people are. Nothing to worry about at all if you support them! A quick look at Matt Southall suggests he has tried to lead a group that attempted to buy Newport County, he runs some sort of academy with Cameron Jerome and owns an employment agency called Acorn. -
Broad needed to be publicly criticised to get a performance out of him. He's been trading on past performances for years barring the odd miracle spell. Where is the winter tour this year? I'd be tempted to keep him at home if it's somewhere like Sri Lanka.

I used to drink Newcastle brown when I was young and went to Esquires in Bedford. That's mainly because the pints were Charles Wells eagle, the worst beer made or scrumpy jack which was like battery acid. -

That last point is very true Frosty. If Biesla has a bad month or two, he'll be out and someone else will come in . The rate they're going it's only a matter of time before Coyle is hired. -
Steven Ireland? No way, he's a nailed on Murphy mark II.

They gloated when Coventry City fell apart under SISU, with junkie Merson leading the way, they mocked Newcastle when they went down so suck it up Vile. -

Redknapp will be on good terms with all the iffy agents though and could have a word for Frank about player X. Or maybe his dog will do that. -
King was pretty mediocre or injured when he played for us. He probably responded to Eddie Howe and his coaches better than ours, just like Mark Hughes could get Craig Bellamy to perform.
-
I thought he'd still have something left in the tank too. From what I gather he at least tried unlike Murphy and his mate Etuhu.

Pilkington shops at Aldi, or you? Either way, Aldi is a good super market. Anyway, unless he is actually seen, I think it's just a player or employee with a suggestive number plate.
-
It could just be a normal number plate.

I'm probably having a brain fart, but if Bell gets knobbled would the elusive Hart be the replacement? PS What's wrong about Bono then? (I know but it would be funny to hear what Irish people would say)

Jody Morris, there's a name I've not heard for years. On further reflection this could all go wrong. Not Owen Coyle levels of nonsense but it can be yet another manager in place this time next year. -

Frank will probably do OK. Maybe the play-offs or just outside. Credit to him for actually having a go at the management lark and leaving the pundits chair. I remember Andy Gray not making that step. -
He can sometimes be absolute poop though. Coventry City/SISU are the kind of team who'd sell any academy hot shot as soon as a club is interested. Maddison, Wilson, Christie, Murphy...........they've all been sold whilst Jordan has stayed. He can be pretty good, but I think he'd need a dominant, John Terry type alongside him. He's not a leader, but then City are the sort of team that have consistently lacked one to organise the team and galvanise the dressing room.

Sam allardyce is statistically England's finest manager if you look at a certain way. Sterling is not a good striker. Is that so hard for you people to understand? That was the premise of JAL's message when he said Kane should be a super sub and suggested Sterling should start up front ahead of him. I don't buy the Sterling hype, or Delli Alli. On their day they are great, but they can also flatter to decive. Especially when they play for England.
