  1. Almost forgot this game was happening. I don’t imagine many changes from the weekend - Eustace seems to think we played well. He also doesn’t seem to be the most tactically savvy. Hedges and Dolan again and I think Gueye will get the nod over Ohashi. 0-1 Stoke.
  2. People forget, after a decent start to the season, we brought in c£35m on transfer fees the last two years (possibly more?). We spent, what, £2m? As ever, you get what you pay for. That is fundamentally the problem and who is to blame for that….? Our repugnant owners. We are going nowhere and wont in a hurry. At this point I’m almost apathetic to the players and Eustace, who I do not rate at all.
  3. Woeful today. Was lucky to stay on after his first challenge. Poor, poor signing.
  4. Poor. We have a total lack of quality, Cantwell and Beck aside. Every time we get the ball we lose it and only one or two brave enough on the ball to make something happen. JRC gifting them a first goal didnt help much. We could play until November next year and not score - did we have a shot on target? Gueye is extremely bad.
  5. Not very good. Sad as I was naively optimistic when we signed him. The video he did with Cantwell was concerning.....couldn't hit an open net!
  6. If they get further embroiled in a relegation battle the likelihood of them letting him have the surgery decreases. Feel for Adam, hope they look after him. Can foresee another Michael Owen scenario where he is overplayed through injuries to benefit the club.
  7. Cantwell been the best player for us, wants the ball and has some quality. Good three points but my word that second half was bleak. Yuki was bright too. Work to do. Much better with Beck in the side and Carter at CB.
  8. We are crap with the ball. Give it away every time. Lack of quality is pretty worrying.
  9. Beck is so so so much better than Pickering
  10. Zero chance he is dropping Pears (unfortunately). Not expecting too many changes, he seems to have two favourities in Hedges and Dolan. I think he will start Gueye and bench Ohashi after his travelling. I HOPE he plays Beck. Brittain played last night so wont start tomorrow. Expecting (not wanting) this: Pears Carter Hyam Baath Beck Travis Tronstad Weiman Dolan Hedges Gueye
  11. Simply not good enough. Didn’t deserve anything from that. Going to be another relegation slog again unfortunately, despite the start. We lack quality everywhere and now leaking goals for fun. Wonderful.
  12. This is extremely worrying. Pears kept us in this.
  13. This is on Eustace now. Why wait to make changes to a system that isn’t working. Just another chunk out of the game. Hedges, Dolan and Weiman have offered NOTHING.
  14. Rinse and repeat from the Coventry game. Cannot keep hold of the ball due to a total lack of quality across the 11. Infuriating how easily we give it away. They then counter and score. Not rocket science Eustace.
  15. There is no chance JE is dropping Pears. Tough game tomorrow, Plymouth seem to have improved recently. We usually bounce back after a shocker, like Tuesday. Hoping this weekend is the same. A concern I have is striker options - team have shared the load up to now but I feel we are missing quality up top (not fair for Ohashi to play solo there). If he does move Carter back to CH I would drop Hyam, Baath is far better and has been recently. I think it will be: Pears Carter Baath Hyam Pickering Travis Tronstad Dolan Cantwell Hedges Gueye
  16. Gueye isn’t very good unfortunately.
  17. That was a shocking half. Couldn’t keep/wouldn’t keep hold of the ball. Pickering is our weakest link - out of position too many times. We are in big need of a striker. Ohashi is great but he’s so isolated. Cantwell the only one with any composure but we can’t get it to him. Big improvement needed.
  18. Let's wait and see how the season pans out before assuming Eustace will be off. Still has a huge amount to prove and there is a long, long way to go. He has done a fantastic job this season up to now - long may it continue! I am eating humble pie.
  19. Not sure how the turd hits the fan financially....even without them spending a penny we are fine with FFP for a long time with all the incomings recently. Obvious the club sees the installments from transfer income as running costs, not transfer/wage spend. £40m should keep the club ticking over regardless of what Venkys decide they want to spend (likely nothing). We will be run on a shoe string for a long time and hope for the odd big sale every year. Carter will be the next one I would guess.
  20. I wonder if we will go back in for Ryo Germain in January - he would be free. Perhaps cheesed off at us messing him around in the summer. After seeing how quickly Yuki has made an impact, signing the leagues top scorer surely makes sense?
  21. Interesting interview. It is good to see him take some accountability for the way things have turned out. Proof will be in the pudding but if he is serious about letting his football talk, it could be a hell of a signing. His technical ability will be way way way better than most in the squad (Siggy aside). Imagine it will be Dolan who is at risk of losing his spot. Good chance for him to step up. Cantwell says he is a way off match fitness so don’t see him starting games in September. Exciting to have the options.
  22. Owen Beck norm - brilliant. Excellent result against 12 men.
