  1. To give Sam G his dues, there has been times mainly off the bench when he’s come on and been a handful. Albeit not many but I do remember him looking half decent on occasion off the bench
  2. Think he’s there as GK coach rather than playing, he has a pretty successful private business coaching young GK’s.
  3. Yep, he was brilliant at winding people up but similar to Savage in my opinion was soft as shite. Both ran from a 50/50 and most of their tackles were them trying to get out the way and or clipping people late.
  4. El Hadji-Diouf was soft as shite, gave it the big un but never put in a tackle unless it was a late half hearted one. Plastic hard man
  5. Nixon is a snake oil salesman, why is he even a topic of discussion on here these days. He’s less reliable than that met office
  6. People probably said the same about Sammie until 18 months ago.
  7. Gallagher will no doubt have a muscle injury, as the case toward the end of every pre-season.
  8. Delap for 20 million is potentially very shrewd business. He’s 21, scored 1 in 3 last year and is capped at various levels for England.
  9. I have got my timescales incorrect, I’d thought he was injured March time. My original point still stands. He’s been injured April to June, now July onwards. Missing pre-season and valuable time working with the first team. Such a shame for him as he’s got so much promise. Hopefully having an extended period injured hasn’t had too much impact in terms of the momentum he was building in his career
  10. Gilsenan looks increasingly likely to miss what could be a breakout year due to injury. Spent the best part of 6 months out injured since Christmas and looking like that will be closer to 9 now.
  11. Duru is definitely different to anything we have in that position, very direct runner in the Frimpong mould. Very hard to say where he is at in terms of being championship level after playing against Accrington and a Morecambe side that signed 17 players in a week. It was interesting tactically how high and wide he was instructed to be at times, whilst at the same time Biniek clearly had instructions to pin the touchline high on the opposite side. Eustace looking to make the pitch as big as possible and play out then through the centre. Not quite what I expected from Eustace, in that we set up more aggressively than we've seen
  12. He gave the ball away in dangerous positions at least 4 times. Flat, telegraphed passes into a central area. Jackson has given him 7, I’d have given 5 at best. Desperately needs to go out and play men’s football. Assuming Gent has risen above him in the pecking order
  13. He was excellent. Tyjon was good, busy. Biniek was also lively and direct when he came on. Looks quick. O’Riordan comfortable bringing the ball out, played very high at times. Neither Batty or Gamble are good enough, in fact they’re miles off it.
  14. Tronstad is the most level headed and reliable, not sure he'd be well received as captain though as people tend to like blood and thunder types to be captain.
  15. We could arguably play 1st half with the strongest team and 2nd half '2nd string' in both games, 90 minutes over 2 days certainly shouldn't be beyond them as they look to 'peak' with starting in 2 weeks time! I suspect it will be the reserves at Morecambe tonight.
  16. Must be a market Venky's are looking to push their products in............
  17. Do kids season tickets generate loyalty points?
  18. It's usually the way, I've posted previously that (recently) the years we have nice kits tend to be the ones we're awful and/or get relegated! So this doesn't bode well.
  19. I really hope the away shirt has a collar
  20. I’m sorry but that’s not how PMA works, that’s bordering on delusion. If you have years of examples of the club failing to bring in quality and poorly using it’s resource both on-field and off-field then what gives you the belief or confidence in the same people ceasing to make the same mistakes this year.
  21. The Q & A is fairly pointless unless Elliot Jackson has answers, which is unlikely. Unless of course I’ve misread this and he wants questions to put to the club and he will try to gain answers.
  22. I feel like the 2 want to sell thing has been going round for years, yet here we are
  23. Makes me chuckle Nixon talking about agendas, his posts are all driven by an agenda - to generate revenue, be that clicks, signs ups to his patreon or buying the paper he writes for. It’s fairly clear the non existent pot we had to piss in last year has now been smashed all over the floor! SS sold shortly before or after the court case with all monies used to keep the lights on. Only incomings will be loanees and maybe an out of contract player or 2. All this will happen after we’ve played at least 1 game of the season! We may get lucky and see an ‘exciting prospect’ loanee before the season starts. Oh what a time to be alive
  24. I’ve not seen what Nixon has said, I’ve probably worded it badly as I wasn’t inferring that Eustace and recruitment aren’t aligned, more pointing to the hands outside of that department who are involving themselves unnecessarily. That coupled with the inability/lack of desire to sign things of at VHH leaves us in an ever increasing mess
  25. To an extent it shouldn’t matter what anyone bar the manager and DOF/head of recruitment want. They’re the 2 people in the top football positions, they set the style, coaching, etc. They need to come ro agreement on what’s needed and go for there. Outside of that it shouldn’t matter what Waggot or anyone else including us want. Once again it would appear there are lots of hands stirring the pot which leads to further exacerbating the mess we’re in. The cynic in me would say all these hands in the pot going in different directions only make further mess, which would suit some. No signings, no spend.
