  1. I think they're talking about a) not Eustace's targets b) timing c) requisite ability/fitness to play a significant part between now and May
  2. Buckley has been one of Rovers better performers in the last 4 or 5 games, he gets a lot of stick on here some warranted, some not so much but he's been one of the few minor positives in recent weeks. Admittedly the bar is currently set at floor height!
  3. This one feels like the final straw, real Kidney punch.
  4. Sad thing is another manager will come in, eustace name will get dragged for 12 months and then whoever the manager is will suffer the same fate and on it goes. meanwhile we’ll have fan infighting and further divisions found between fan groups
  5. I’d not forgotten just couldn’t be arsed typing it such is the malaise that has now taken hold. Those two twats need an acronym
  6. We’ve been here before, eustace may get short term assurances which everyone believes silences Waggot et al when in reality they’re happy to play the villain get their wedge and the fuck Eustace off as the bad guy in the press during the summer. Same happened to JDT. Rinse and repeat. All these managers come and go, the only constant is Waggot drawing his wedge and the circus continues
  7. Indeed, I often think Lambert is looked back on negatively by the majority of Rovers fans when I thought he had us playing some great stuff in patches with a very average team. Very similar to Eustace in adopting a pragmatic approach. Sold a pup by the owners and walked at the first opportunity. Some PR heavy lifting by various people at Rovers has since sullied what was a decent stint that was on an upward trajectory before being harpooned.
  8. It would be wonderful if Todd Cantwell was as good as Todd Cantwell thinks he is. Effective as a chocolate teapot
  9. Can't see him starting Kargbo, I'd expect it to be the same team as Friday.
  10. Think it was season before last at Ewood where he had one of our mega toothless displays against a struggling team, really was horrendous.
  11. Siggy is the best finisher in the club, in fact I think he’d give szomdics a run for his money in pure finishing ability. The ability to get i the right places is a different matter but he’s quality technically is siggy. His problem is he’s so bloody soft
  12. Majority of this board was up in arms about signing Graham, he got no end of stick.
  13. I don’t know why anyone thinks we’re signing a forward, what in the last 6 windows have we done to suggest we’ll spend a significant amount of money on a position we need quality?
  14. You’re misunderstanding me, I’m not saying it as a negative and I’m not saying we do it every week. I responded to the comments re xG Against the top 6 teams where we have sat deep and used defensive solidity as our main focus with the hope of snatching a goal on the counter. My point was that whilst we’ve done it brilliantly so far, against top teams where their xG is 6 and ours is .87 at some point we will come unstuck.
  15. Our reliance on defensive solidity is why we've lost so many games 1-0, at this level you're going to get mistakes when playing such a high risk strategy of defence being your main form of attack. Our aim at times is to not lose, with winning being a happy by product, problem is when you do go behind a la Dingles home game it's then very hard for us to win. I think it also leaves us open to mental fatigue and at some point this season we'll get an absolute hiding from someone if say 2 of 4 defenders are below par
  16. Has that been confirmed anywhere? The inflexible system was getting us whalloped like a dusty rug so those not in favour may have had a point. I loved JDT's ideas and style of play but his inflexibility tactically and (lack of) man management skills were infuriating.
  17. The O'Brien thing is weird, 3 years ago it was a coup, now it would be like going back to a jilted ex, a needless and expensive signing. 2 seasons in MLS and an injury plagued spell at Boro, who aren't trying to get him back which probably says a lot about where he is at level wise/VFM.
  18. It was mad that we gave Travis away for 6 months wasn't it, kind of forgotten that it happened it's so mental!
  19. The Egyptian fella is just this years Maguire, wont happen
  20. I think he’ll still be held in fairly high regard and considered a marquee signing in some leagues based on his champions league performances prior to joining Rovers
  21. Siggy is obviously playing the game, as a rovers fan it’s annoying but putting that to one side fair play to him in some respects. Clubs are quick to sign players on long deals which means once they’re surplus you’ve got to swallow the expense. He’ll be wanting to be paid up or he’ll wait until summer when he gets a fat signing fee as a free agent. Most of us thought it was a real coup when we signed him but the warning signs were there when he was instantly injured for 4 months! In hindsight a really poor piece of business
  22. I think that’s unfair, I don’t think anyone is questioning his impact at the moment. However you can think he’s effective but not technically very good at the same time.
  23. First player since BBD to get a half time parade?
  24. I don’t personally think the comments made over the first 15 games were unfair, Gueye really was bloody awful. He’s clearly worked on his touch but he’s still very clunky and technically miles off the standard, finíshing with his feet is terrible however that matters not when he’s effective like last night. Suttons point about areas is spot on and if he can improve that as well he’ll become a real asset. It has helped him that Brittain is currently looking like Beckham circa 2000 with his delivery
  25. Garrett going to 4th from bottom in League 2 says a lot about where he's currently thought of being at standard wise
