  1. I was maybe one of the angry's I don't remember. If I wasn't the I was a definate no. I wanted no part of Sparky being named manager. I felt it was going to be nothing more than a dangerous experiment which would put the club I love in Jeopardy. Now I can't see ANY other manager doing the stellar kind of job that Hughes has done here, and I mean any manager, short of perhaps Brian Clough. So any of you seeking footy advice or wishing to know the nuances of football management, now you know, don't ask me I know Jack.
  2. Peacock Neill Gresko Grabbi Davies Ward Ostenstadt Douglas And a Bzillion others All white and tarred by the same brush. Fact is the people you bring up, with the exception of Roberts all had a tendency to take it easy. However, Andy hands on hips Cole looks like a Bonafide workhorse compared to benni at times.
  3. I thought McCarthy's effort yesterday was disgraceful and belittling to his team mates, his captain should have given him a rollocking. No effort at all, a total lack of willingness to fight for the cause, already metioned him strolling behind Terry into the corner when the ball was there to be be won, twice, he did not even harrass him. That was about 35 mins into the game, if I was Hughes(thank god I'm not we'd be at Stanley's level) the buggar would not have been out after half time. I'll tell you this, we have a great team spirit within this team, a 100% commitment to work for each other, it's what gets us where we are. If Hughes does not address Benni's work ethic then it WILL begin to effect the performance of the rest of the lads, mark my words they will ease up if they see him continually picked, it will also dent the morale of the likes of Matty as he sees his arse parked on the bench while McCarthy is having a Sunday afternoon stroll in the park. I am not buying this lack of service excuse either, Santa suffered the same lack of service but the bloke worked his bloody socks off. As for the black thing, load of cobblers total hogwash. Don't notice anyone dissing Samba and he is blacker than benni. If it is a colour thing it's not the colour of his skin, it's the lack of effort wearing the colours of BRFC. I hope Hughes told him after the match too, not this wimpy "can" or "should be" bloody hell we are not dealing with school kids here. Hughes had best have made it clear, shape up or sit down. We have three strikers ready willing and able to replace him, we know at least one of them will give his all don't we?
  4. Thanks for the pics, it is the one and the same Paul Astley. Someone tell him hello for me. Bloody hell did not realise this thread was over a year old.
  5. The amount of time it took him to figure out the possibilities?
  6. Not exactly, Williams THINKS Benni wants to stay, big difference.
  7. Is there ever? I was not aware it was made up by some naff journalist I am not saying drop Benni, I did like him, what I am saying is I hope the others perform well enough to keep him out of the team. Knock him down a peg or two, or at least shut his big mouth.
  8. You are exactly right Rev and I remember thinking at the time'what does that mean exactly" Now we know. I'm already tired of this clause ######. Bellamy, Benni and then we go and sign another oh wait it's Santa CRUZ. Anyway, Benni's days are numbered which ever way we look at it this season will be his last. I am sure now it is public knowledge all the Prem managers will just sit back, see how he does this season and if he is still scoring at a high rate they plonk down a 5 MIll bid and off he goes. Who wouldn't wait a year, if we go on todays market his value has to be in the 15-18mil range so that's about a cool 15 mil saved for waiting one year. Get shut now is what I am starting to think, I don't know if I can get excited about him as a player knowing his heart is so publicly not at Rovers. It's another Lucash situation isn't it, I think the team just does not play their best with a wantaway in the midst. I also have a sneaky wish that Cruz and Roberts and Matty do the biz with a more all round game bang in the goals and let Benni's arse get a few splinters from the bench for a while.
  9. Quite frankly I've tired of him.
  10. Sky Sports reporting it was a free, is this true? Thanks for the service Andy, good solid player but always a bit of a liability with his dodgy temperament. Good luck at Derby.
  11. Two and a half lines about Rovers saying he was at training the rest of the article about Benni, his desire to leave and Chelsea/Mourinho, typical.
  12. Benni is getting just a little bit too big for his boots.
  13. I had no idea dillo dillo that Pie Eater was anything like offensive, I'd be proud to have a nickname like that. I love pies.
  14. Lot's of other dead folk I have no respect for, I won't change that just because they are dead. You maybe are right though in this instance, best just to have said nothing.
  15. Did no one mention Wigan-Pie Eaters, don't know why but that's one of my favourites.
  16. Hey mate, what ever!!! Perhaps that IS why I don't play poker. I would have told the bloke myself, and I would feel good about it. I simply would not like myself had I done what you did. Maybe you are not a "bad" person per say but acts like that, to me, say you are not a good person. Hey, back to the footy, I will most certainley miss watching Henry in the prem but I think the Arse are on the verge of something great.
  17. Condolences to his family who will no doubt miss him. As for me, no respect for the bloke.
  18. Actually yeah it does. Typical of the way our society is now, it's the other blokes fault you cheated him.
  19. They did a similar thing on FSC here a while back, best buys of the season and all the drooling was over Berbatov and Martins, someone mentioned Benni and the response was "mmm yeah he's done OK, not bad" Surely when one is considering best buys one should include the price paid, this for me makes Benni far and away the best buy. OK we know his traits that we don't like but he stuck the goals away and that is what strikers are paid for.
  20. Simple, he said, "self, club, country" in that order which is exactly what Bents did but now the shoe is on the other foot it's all a big to do. It's classic hypocrisy on Pearce's part and if you fail to see that R6 you should keep to talent spotting football management. Odd, I don't seem able to find that quote now, did I dream it?
  21. Mido, tops my list by a long shot. Berbatov is not the only reason he does not get a look in R6.
  22. I do believe there is some truth to that statement. I am sure if it was one of the big boys "stars" it would have been smoothed over a lot better and with some commitment, you'd have medical experts on backing the players claims and all that. Yeah I think there is something to it being us. I have not heard much furor regarding Abgonlewalkabout who plays for Villa. Did Martin O'Neill not make similar claims of fatigue? how many games has that lad played?
  23. To be honest I was a little bit upset when I first heard of this. However I think the article that best puts things in true perspective is the one on the very front page of this site, it indicates that if England do well then Bents has only 6 days off to prepare for a the upcoming season. Simply not enough, I applaud what the lad has done in the interests of BRFC. I too agree that it might have been different of McClaren would have pulled his head out his arse long ewnough to actually watch the performance of the players he is picking. The lad turned in 2 MOM peformances and was completely overlooked for Dyer and Jenas. I'd be miffed too, what does this lad have to do.
  24. Just got back from a bike tour. So, if I understand correctly, Bents did not even get on the pitch? Not surprised are you? After all he only plays for Blackburn Rovers and we all know it's the team you play for that will get you picked when the manager is under the cosh. Anyway McClaren needs to go and NOW. HE should never have been appointed in the first place and it is just another shining example of how far out of tune the FA really is.
  25. One thing for sure, there'd be few more goals without keepers
