really gav? In that case its lucky for me your opinion of me doesn't reallyconcern me Nothing on my mind but its a bit rich when we have rovers on our board complaining about a few posts that are reception class compared to comments from you, USABlue, ossie, ABBEY need I go on. Consequently I view it as my duty to defend the vast majority of decent Clarets from the nonesense you and your cohorts post by pointing out the dual standards you are employing. Anyway, as you say we aint got all night so I guess we wait now until Wednesday week Please, if you are going to throw my name around here could you remind me of what you are referring to. Exactly, not sort of or supposed. Perhaps I can insult your wife, is that more manly for you. Please, don't you have a game tomorrow and another on Saturday, both of which are bigger than beating us. Should you not be on the clarrot board discussing footy rather than on our board playing handbags and your dads bigger than my dad, he said she said and who did what rubbish. You are obsessing a bit now LS. Facts are facts and as Gav said over the last 15 years Rovers fans have a decent reputation, you simply can not say that about the clarrots. Over 10% of your total attendance to Ewood on Demollition Derby day "mobbed up" after the game. At what point does the small minority as you put it become a sizable force, over 10% thats a lot of your crowd looking for trouble. Agree?

Hear Hear, I tried to say that last week.

Just read on clarrots mad some dingles are trying to arrange a "Fly Over" for the replay. First Off it's not very original, secondly I haven't the heart to tell them it will be dark and no one will see it. You couldn't make it up, they just have a way of embarrassing themselves.

I saw the same thing in the LET and mentioned it to our resident Dingle at work. He genuinely believes (as do most Dindles) that Grant kept Savage quiet on Sunday! Apart from his tackle from behind on Savage (for which he ought to have been booked but wasn't) I don't recall his name being mentioned at all. Thanks sidders, that's about all I remember of Grant too. I thought for a bit I was losing it.
-
Did anyone see the comments about Tony Grant in the LET. "Came out on top in his personal duel with Savage? Was I watching another game, I barely recall Grant. How did I miss this.

Working on your excuses already, or trying to soften the blow for your self. Yes it sounds like you are in a difficult situation Mr Clitheroe. My heart bleeds, it really does. Only one thing certain about this next game, someone goes to the next round and someone goes home.
-
I think you have just made certain of the cock up of all cock ups. The seats weren't splintery were they Rev?
-
But we have Savs and Dickov

WE HAVE GOT BURNLEY AT HOME.......DONT LOOK ANY FURTHER YET!!! Best advice there is. We are not yet IN the next round. Simply in the hat for the draw. the down side is this will help inspire the clarrots only a home tie against a team they consider beatable and the chance to pencil in their names for the next round.

And Preston, Blackburn and the rest of East Lancs are oases (sp?) of charm and splendour? Get a grip man, comment on the football, the crowd but don't pretend the whole of East lancs is anything other than it is: industrialised and very often derelict awaiting investment from the government's 'regeneration schemes'. I also take great exception to your classification of the inhabitants. care to go head to head in an iq test? I have no problem with humour as those who know me will testify but you are not in the least bit funny. Here's a true story for you, make of it what you will. My Wife is a Geordie. I met her when she was studying at Preston Uni (University Of Central Lancashire is its full title). I lived in the North East after her studies for around 5 years and moved back to Burnley for various family reasons. Today we had to go to the Hospital in Blackburn with my 3 year old son as he needs to have his tonsils removed. We went to the Royal Infirmary and were dealt with by wonderful staff. I had to park just off the hospital on Ivy Street so I dropped my wife and son at the hospital then went to park. After the pre op assesment we walked back to the car and my wife said - and I swear this is the absolute truth - 'its like being in a time warp isn't it' Now i would suggest that Burnley and Blackburn (the towns) are very very similar. Both have some run down area's, both have suffered from the decline of the industry on which they were built, both are trying admirably to build a future for themselves. Lovely story. What's the point? I can tell you too that my wife, who is American dislikes footy but enjoys watching a bit when we play you why? She finds the dingles similarity to the Hillbillies of the South here very amusing. Hey are there really ANY Lancashire mill towns that can be considered eye candy.

Quick view as pointed out quality of football was poor but was it ever going to be anything else on that disgrace of a pitch. Same for both teams yes but suit the clarrots "style" of play more. I can't say Burnleh ever REALLY troubled us, they huffed and puffed and moved the ball around but how many times did Brad have to save? We had the better chances for sure. The Ref, I will agree for the most part had a good game but I thought he reached a point, about 15mins from the end when he became a homer. I am surprised there has been no mention yet of Roches handball, looked to me to be goal bound and he had his arm raised. Much like the penalty given to Sheff U at Arsenal. Tugay was a disgrace to the shirt, Gally, for a local lad sorely dissappointed me, the lad does not even seem to put in the effort, I'm surprised MH goes with him. I would much rather have had Stead with Gally coming off the bench. Someone criticised Neill on here, I don't know why I thought he was solid against the rather tricky Valois, thought LUcas did a good job. Nelsen and Todd solid, Nelsen was turned once but managed to recover, a real gem unearthed by MH there. Well heres hoping things go better at Ewood, too bad it's not on the telly.
-
Not looking forward to the second half, trying to attack on that bog of a pitch, one end clearly better than the other, we should have done better up front while we had the good half to attack on. Where's Tugay, has he BECOME his invisible friend. Nerves are frayed already not sure I can take 45 mins more.

Very very eloquently shoved right up his arse, well done BRFC4eva.

Flippin' 'eck I've pulled! Don't even think about it Rev they are proud of their gene pool, you could cause some form of disaster if an outsider was to start mixing it up now. Natures a complicated thing.

Excerpt from the KING of the podiatry banana peelers. "Burnley morale is high, as often happens when a team becomes greater than the combined sum of its parts. Rovers’ morale is low, their dressing-room a mess of clashing egos and overpaid, underachieving prima donnas. " Would be a nice little verse to print out and hand to each of the players before the game. Where did he get this crap.
-
But of course Longsider, what kind of Rovers fan would I be if I did not remind you of that, it's my duty. Ifs and maybe's are all you have for the "depths" theory. As you well know never at any time did we sink to pro footballs cellar, never. So one can only suppose. Have a good time at the game, don't clock anyone either, I might know em.
-
Perhaps if you had been able to shift your tickets you could have had the last laugh. There will be Rovers fans in home areas - who knows how many? I know of two Bolton lads who are missing Wanderers this weekend to take in the East Lancs Derby! Burnley's propaganda machine of best support in the land blah, blah, blah has been defunct for a few years now. It's not worth cranking it up again with only 10,000 regular home supporters and a failure to sell out against their most hated rivals in their biggest game for years. I'll be missing my first ever Derby having seen every one since the first in 1970, home and away. Come On You Blues! Who said anything about best support in the land? Certainly not me. The only propaganda machine in flow, is some of your colleagues prediciting a mass infiltration. Heard it all before.....zzzzzzz I admit I am actually disappointed with our home support for a couple of years now. I also think there a several factors/reasons for it. But, all said and done...both our clubs only have a limited pool to draw from. And at the mo....whether we like it or not....your home support is in excess of ours..... Oh...and I will claim one thing....a far better away support that yourselves... OK....I will go and prepare for the mass invasion of B***ards and our old friends from Bolton...that said.....you both shared a terrace at ours once before (1987 week after the infamous FA cup game......we were indeed honoured).........and it still werent enough Perhaps not you OLS, just the other 19000 clarrots that will be at the Turf. 19000+3995 = 22,995. The 19000 is one of you brethren speaking. As always each one says to a man, they never said that, but it get's said over and over. I'll say it again, we each have our embellishers. When it comes to support you have more than us, embellishers that is. Why you are this way I don't know, it's a myth you clarrots have portrayed since I can remember. I think some of the older clarrots have these young uns heads filled with nonsense I really do. See there are so many of you that have happened along since the ORIENT game, it's easy to understand why us poor Rovers fans would be confused. 15,000 on when you were a point or so from going out of the league, this following many many gates below 3,000 but listening to you lot it seems impossible cos everyone of these "new" clarrots seem to claim they were there through thick and thin. It does not add up. You have always padded numbers, it's what you clarrots do. You have as long as I remember and most likely will continue to do so. I liked the one where the subject of misplaced tickets came up, a number of 1500 was bandied around, the suggestions that perhaps you had sold 1500 less due to these misplaced tickets was met swiftly with a response from one of yours. Classic this, the 1500 misplaced tickets were actually at Blackburn suggesting that in fact WE were 1500 short of a sell out. Only a clarrot could contrive that sort of story, sad part is, I get the feeling he actually believed it. What's it matter fact is you were poorly supported in the top flight 4 decades ago, your urban legends began there, somehow skipping the 1500's and 2000's or 4500 record gate for the season against PNE, your support then was poor, but you always had the "population" thing huh. COme on Rovers do these suckers, I'm growing tired of their rhetoric.

oh great - 90 minutes of the commentary cutting out ever 30 secs - leasst it doesnt miss anything but the game on RR finishes 15 minutes after ft NOTE TO ADMIN - CANT GET CHAT TO WORK - STILL. Help please Mine was cutting out every 8 seconds, yes 8 I watched it. To fix it I actually had to go and revert back to the older version of media player, fixed it good, no problems since.
-
Was one game enough do you suppose. Are the clarrots imaginitive enough to have more than one style of play.
-
Reading the LET, sounds like Cotterill has been scouting us since the Chelsea match, and they say it's not that important. I wonder will we have done the same?
-
Didn't we lose 3-0 to Wolves in the final. Why can't any of these reporters seem to get their facts right.
-
Not too sure about that, I think Matteo might actually handle the occasion better than Nissa. Nissa can get a bit nervous, but then again he can be very good, I just have a feeling he will be nervous for this one.
-
What the hell you talking about Sam. How can you claim all this passion with a squad of borrowed players. At least our players are our players. Yours, well who does hold their registration. You're so full of it sam D. Admirable try but..... you'll always be the dingles, that's to everyone you know, not just us.

wow spelling corrections from an Aussie - shouldn't you be pulling pints by now or is it only when Aussies come to England the only work they've got the brains for is behind a bar? Yes we do - and just for that I think I will report this infringement!!!! Sorry if I got the Villa date wrong - If it was after we had thumped them 3-1 they beat you then I apologise for not checking my facts. On the Dick head - I mean Dickoff thing - well our central defenders (McGreal/Sinclair and even young Cahill) have dealt with better. Todd's a good defender but you know Ian Moore does seem to have a knack of scoring in this competition. The player that concerns me most from your squad is Savage TBH We have 2 wingers that your defenders have to deal with. Whilst it may be at a higher level you have conceded 36 goals in 27 games - we have conceded 25 goals in 31 games. You have the added pressure of being expected to win - and win comfortably against a squad from a lower division that consists of 14 senior pro's - just let that sink in 14 senior pro's, imagine losing to that. Imagine it after the game, a squad containing not one player good enough to get into your team (according to you), from your arch rivals who can't even muster enough senior pro's to fill the bench and you have lost - wow what a bummer. Of course if recent reports are anything to go by you could have kicked our team off the pitch by then 80 coaches? Unless your planning to park one across your goal I am not sure how they are going to help you. You know, you started out quite well, but now of late your true clarrot vitriol is beginning to shine through. Frankly you are boring me you sound just like the rest, trying to downplay things when in fact beating us is something you want most in the world. I;ve read your boards, go on pretend not to be one of the hateful masses, I don't care. I did not really give a toss about the outcome of this game, the premiership and our staying in it is far far more important than beating a borrowed team with no history or accomplishments. But, you know what your sorry ramblings have made me hope we beat you, and beat you well. Even so if you get hammered you'll be playing your "nothing to lose card" but all the time you'll be crying behind the hand before you fold. May be beat you and beat you soundly just for the hypocrites as your self.

Single, is how I would feel.
