Absolutely nothing to do with Pedersen. Odd one out is Everton. I do believe they are the only team in that list NOT to have played Nationwide football this Millenium. Don't know if it's the answer being looked for but it is true, I think.

[Archived] Paul Dickov Signs - Good Deal Or Not ?
USABlue replied to Baz's topic in Football Messageboard Archive
I think it's a decent buy, gives us the option of mixing things up a bit. Of course the "Prawn sandwich Juniors" won't like it cos he's not a big name signing. I think he will earn his keep. -
Send Yorke but tell them it's Andy Cole, just have Dwight not smile so much, get caught offside a lot and I'll bet it would be the end of the Norwegian season before they suss out they've been had.
-
Doesn't Jemal Johnson play wide left, send him. We can compare apples to apples then, if young Jemal starts to tear things up in Norway we may want to reconsider this deal, since Jemal is deemed not good enough for our 1st team.
-
Like I said, to put things in true perspective let's remember Martin Andresen was Norway's player of the year, this lad is still considered a prospect, I have big doubts myself that he will make the step up.

[Archived] The 'alan Smith' Type
USABlue replied to The1mattjansen's topic in Football Messageboard Archive
Can't blame Alan Smith one bit. Loyalty is nice but at what cost, if you are ambitious then surely there is a fine line between loyalty and plain old stupidity. He's a young man with the cahnce of a great future why oh why would he want to waste it, he wants to pit himself against top players and play with top players no shame in that. -
I did not mean to say you did not think everyone had a right to say what they want. If it came across that way it was not intended. Yes let's leave it at that. I have doubts this Pedersen thing is going to happen either, it's been too well publicised and I think Tromso are posturing for more money.
-
Bloody Hell, that's an awful lot of Money. If we bought the title, Houllier spent enough to win a couple. I always liked the fella until the Neill- Carragher incident. Actually I had started going off him a bit after hearing his comments after that horrific lunge by Gerrard. Never mind Gerrard, Burnley are hiring.

I had a really good response to this load of crap, but I figured the mods wouldn't like it very much. And how ironic to have someone needlessly bring WW2 into this, make a nonexistent point, and then urge people to gon on topic? After which he goes off topic yet again... Goes to show what people will respond to. Obviously I felt the need to bring that into things. You feel differently, we are allowed to do that, and say that and write that. Understand? Somehow doubt it. You might not see the link, no one else might see the link, hell everyone else might think I'm nuts, I don't care (oops am I off topic) Pedersen (back on) Going off topic again, yes you got me wrapped up into the silly goings on about languages, sorry, what about Pedersen.
-
Well you are the one writing the tripe- none of those you name are languages Then please oh omniscient one, educate me. Next you will be saying Lancy twang is not English. BTW I understand that not all the languages are named after the country of origin, I was just trying to keep it simple.
-
A lot of people gave their lives to make sure you had a choice of speaking English. Still, if you are so ashamed perhaps you think we should have thrown in the towel in WWII. At least then we could be speaking German AND another language. Never read a bigger load of tripe in my life. What about the football, mods will you shut this crap down or move it if they want to go on about other stuff. Besides a lot of English people speak foreign languages, Indian and Pakistani, Iraqi, Iranian, Bosnian and more than the odd bit of Chinese, to name but a few.

It's getting scary this Rev, I beleive I indicated the same on another thread.

Very nice, but what do the last several post have to do with the signing of Pedersen.

I did not see anything about Cole or Flitcroft, just Souness looking to get 2 players by this weekend. -
[Archived] Cole To Leave?
USABlue replied to laughatthedingles's topic in Football Messageboard Archive
Apart from the fact that Yorke has been a big time under achiever I think that his mere presence has been a major negative distraction for Cole. Think about it, Cole was good until Dwight came and then came the lack of effort the attitude problems and the clear look of not giving a toss. Once it became clear that Yorke was finished at this club Andy's whole game improved, of course this could be attributed to the emergence of Gally and Stead too. I think the theory has some credibility, Yorke brought down Cole's game and his work ethic and heightened his attitude problems. Towards the end of the season I thought Andy Cole was doing very well on and off the ball, now if he could just figure out how to beat offside traps better (or the players passing the ball can learn the timing of Andy's runs better) I think we can expect good things from Andy next season. -
Took a quick peek at the clarrot MB seems they are actually frothing at the mouth to get Todd over there. Sam Dingle, any comments about your fans desire to have this player you ridiculed no end. That lot really do have delusions of Grandeur they really do. Blake has been with them what? a season and a bit yet one Dingle is saying he was bought at the time Kevin Davies cost 7 mil. Dipshit. They think any manager around dreams of managing them, Burnley a MASSIVE club. What the hell are they putting in the Pendle water these days.
-
jim, why do you contradict yourself so? You have always harped on about past it, over paid players and what a waste of money. You know as well as I Rivaldo was finished as a top class palyer a couple of years ago. I can't help but feel your response would be the polar opposite if it was Souness trying to get him, right jim?
-
Never really cared for ternent but credit where it is due I think he did a great job (sadly) at the clarrots as long as the board were able to back him with enough players to do a job. It really started going downhill for him once they had only bare bones, and he did not really have a big enough squad. Not sure there is anybody could have done any better than him with what he had to work with. Hope he lands on his feet though and Burnley, thinking of their coffers, return to plumb the depths of the 80's and 90's. So who's the favourite to take over that pile of crap, their reserve team manager? Ronnie Moore? who.
-
Hats off to Bolton for the initiative. I just feel this won't be the kind of marriage they were hoping for. It does however signal some intent and the timing can't do season ticket sales any harm. I just don't feel this fella's head or heart is in the game anymore. Let's see how he likes playing in Lancs about January.
-
Good luck to them, bit past the sell by date.
-
He does not have to change EVERYTHING, just a few things. Number one instill a fresh breath of life into a much jaded team.
-
Not really true, when we finsihed 6th there was still plaenty of folk who wanted Souness out, remember to some 6th was not good enough. The words lack of ambition were bandied around, Souness was critcised often. No one can (with hand on heart) say that Souness did not do a fantastic job. He probably saved this club from a Sheffield Wednesday type demise and if that was all he ever did it would have been enough for me, I would have been eternally grateful. Fact is he's done a lot more thatn that. A cup win, respectable finish first year back and 6th last year. All that is noted and appreciated but there comes a time when a change is needed, when the "players need to hear it from someone else" to quote the great man, it's just that perhaps that time is here. Our teams performance tomorrow will definitively tell all of us whether that time is now and whether this ex blood and thunder footballer can have some of his passion rub off on to his players. Good luck Graeme, bring us home the 3 points.
-
I've said it before, it's due to a lack of professionalism in some of our players. A lack of professionalism born from a "I'll be alright Jack" attitude, let's face it, even given the drop quite a few of our players could command similar or better salaries with other teams, they know that. OUr hope comes in the form of the Gally's and Steads who know they have to give effort to make any impact. Of course if they are subbed and not given enough playing time then eventually they will adopt the same "ah to hell with it why should I bother" attitude, and who could blame them.
-
To be fair to Batty (and the other players) I'm not sure I'd be happy about accepting a pay refferal when there was a good chance the players would never see the reffered money again. It's not the players' fault that Leeds are in the mess they are in (at least off the field anyway). What I don't understand about this whole Batty story is why it's been made public. Eddie Gray could have simply not picked Batty for the rest of the games - why drag the whole thing out into the open? I can't see what he's trying to achieve. Awwww didums do poor wittle footballer been told by his employer he's not wanted. Hey life happens, deal with it. If the suggestions I have heard that he scuppered the lifeline are true then good for Leeds, I mean in our real world would any Corporation or Business keep an employee who tried to destroy them.
