Swansea vs ROVERS - 23/10/18 19:45pm

Damnit, looked avoidable -
Didn’t say we couldn’t be shit but Bolton’s squad is horrible. Our squad is full of potential
-
Bolton are the worst team iv seen in this league, full of has beens, never has beens and never will beens. I just wish we had changed to that defensive approach when we were 2 up instead of trying to hold the one goal lead. I wasn’t impressed at all with our performance, think we are a lot better than that and sadly didn’t show it on the sky cameras
-
Think the stat is more to with the fact we were never leading at ht
-
We as rovers fans are very fickle, when we got relegated I totally feared the worst for my club, but now feel entitled to criticise when we beat Bolton in the championship to go joint 6th. However am going to criticise anyway haha. The centre back situation should’ve been addressed in the summer, I’d have taken a 3.5 solid centre back and a 3.5 striker as opposed to Brereton who I haven’t been impressed with whatsoever so far. Asking graham to play 90 mins all season is a recipe for disaster. Armstrong doesn’t look like he is going to be physical enough to be a decent champ player sadly, he has never shown it. I can see him being a league 1 legend but not champ success. Lenihan cam look solid for 85 mins then a completed bombscare and over physical for the other 5, I fear a pen more from him than Hanley which is saying something. Palmer looks like he has a bit of skill about him but so lazy and slack at times, mowbray pulls his hair out with him so it’s surprising he signed him. Dont want to be completely negative so dack is my favourite rover in many a year although he needs to learn how to be effective when closely marked. I’m quite happy with Rodwell and see a player in there, looks like he want to knuckle down here to me. reed is excellent and if we have any money left over he would be my first signing, love his energy rothwell is a player, he glides over the park and can ping a pass. If he can develop a killer ball, a shot and a bit more physical attributes he will be a prem player. Joy to watch at times. Glad we took him over Payne.

That’s my point, surely the team could’ve been strengthened with first team regulars rather than one potential good player that doesn’t get on from the bench. It’s a very weird signing
-
Lowe pinged a few balls straight out of play too, he really is an awful awful footballer
-
As a side note, I don’t want to keep going on about it but we sign a 7 mill striker and he can’t even get on from the bench. When you look at our recent plight, that’s ridiculous
-
Our man of the match was the linesman who for once was very good
-
I’m highly frustrated with this performance even if we see it out
-
Think we are going through a poor spell. Look a bit devoid of ideas at the minute. Made a poor Bolton team look good

ROVERS v Sheff Utd

I was going to ask the same about Brereton, this looks a bombscare signing. Billy sharp showing exactly the type of striker we need for this league not this prima Donna -

Championship 2018-19

I still rate hurst personally, think he should have chose a better championship position though, Ipswich have been slowly sinking for years, held up purely by the know how of McCarthy -
Really starting to question the B.B. deal, when we rest our starting forward we go for Armstrong instead of our big summer signing. Don’t think we have the solid championship squad that we can wait a few years until the lad comes good, very strange signing. I get that he is playing out of position the few chances he has had but if that’s the case why didn’t we sign someone like bogvarsson who I wanted as he can play up top or on the win and is championship established

Derby vs Rovers post match thread

Weird feeling as I would have snapped your hand off before the game with a point at Derby but the game left me feeling a little uneasy about season ahead. Far too many questions than answers at the moment. Armstrong looks a little lost and doesn’t seem to be able to handle the physicality of the champ, fear this is a signing that’s going to amount to not very much. Unfortunately we are mainly a long ball team with a little bit of slow build up attacks , he would suit a counter attacking fast break team which we are not. Palmer doesn’t look a team play and is more interested in getting on soccer a.m. with a moment of showboating. Think we got the poor Chelsea loanee when you look at moult. Too many of our defence have a mistake waiting to happen, lenihan has went from a solid cb to a bit of a bombscare this year, raya gives me shivers at times, Mulgrew is someone I like but he also has lapses of concentration. Would liked to have seen us use our money on a leader at the back. Which leads me onto where the money was spent. we have spent 6 mill on a lad who so far looks clumsy. There was strikers available who would have came in and hit the ground running. I don’t trust Brereton to do anything when he is on. I get that we are signing potential, but for a team just promoted, trying to consolidate its a massive gamble which looks like we are relying on our 33 year old warhorse to see us through the season. Midfield, I have been very critical of evans in the past but iv been really impressed this season so give him a decent partner and I’m willing to start afresh with him. Smallwood- not for me. Runs about like a headless chicken. Sprays balls that are usually out of play or to the opposition. Wasn’t the worst tonight but no quality on set plays or open play. Conway, thanks but that’s you tonight. I watched a program about g Neville and he had a shocker and was subbed and he just knew it was time up, hoping Conway feels the same tonight. I didn’t want him to get a new contract and it’s been proven why. So yea, happy with the result but not the performance which concerned me -

Can’t say too many have pass marks tonight, lenihan better than sat, Williams ok, bell and nyambe played well. Graham, reed and Bennett changed the white tide well enough. As much as it’s a decent point I was disappointed in the display. Dack has one of his worst games I can recall -
