Just managed to get promoted via the play-offs in the first season, with no signings (and I terminated most of the loan signings to get the books to balance). 4-3-3. Butterworth 26 league goals, Nyambe, Edun and Pickering stars of the show. £25m pot to stay up. Told the players we would stay up and they were insulted! I fear it will be a tough season ahead.

FM22 is excellent. I’ve played every version and the match engine really delivers. I am midst getting Rovers back to where they belong.

Thumping win, plus more game time and experience for our rapidly improving young players - Dolan, Buckley, Wharton, Butterworth & Pickering. We are also benefitting from less reliance on loanees in the starting XI this season which will help the squad value. Very, very positive 👏🏻

Positives: Match was only 90 minutes, Fulham probably wouldn’t have stopped scoring. Negatives: Everything else. Humiliating.

Tough first half. We had to dig in / ride our luck, but 2nd half we stepped it up and grabbed maximum points. We will have tougher (to be fair Hull we’re decent, but clearly lacking clinical confidence) opponents, but you’ve still got to get the job done. Good result, plenty of positives. 👍👏🏻

As I’ve mentioned before I think in part the smaller squad has helped on two fronts: Less squad rotation so players have settled into their respective roles Less reliance on loan players who aren’t as invested in the club A positive start to the season. Two potential hurdles: TM might put Ayala and Lenihan upfront on Saturday. WBA look very good.
