If we’re going down the development route, we should be playing Patrick Gamble on Friday. Try and keep the full-backs as Pickering and Brittain and we might have a chance.

Scott clearly isn’t a ball playing defender. I think sometimes he’s so concerned about trying to play out from the back, that his defending has regressed. Scott would fit right into a team like Rotherham, nothing fancy, just defend and get rid.

Just need to kill this game off, I still don’t feel comfortable, even with a two goal lead 😂

Leonard’s chance was similar to the one against Swansea. Gets in the right position and just needs to hit the target. But he somehow manages to not even test the keeper. The squad is young and they’re going to make mistakes over the season. Hopefully it will make them into better players and we can benefit from them in the long run (Shit, I sound like Waggot).

Brittain crossed it and Gallagher turned his back with his arm out. Hit the arm and should have been a penalty. If VAR was in use then it would have been given.

I’m looking forward to this tomorrow, managed to get tomorrow and Thursday off work 😀 I’m not expecting much from the game. I feel the same as I did before the West Ham match, so here’s hoping for the same result. I just hope we don’t see Sterling or Mudryk ripping someone like Jake Batty apart. Would be good experience for the lad but I don’t think it would do much for his confidence. It will be a £1bn squad versus a bunch of academy players. As long as we give it our all I will be happy.

Telalovic and Gilsenan starting for the U21’s tonight. Looks like they won’t be in the travelling squad to Chelsea.

Coleman and Bell did an interview with BBC Lancs in midweek about new contacts. Holt hasn’t taken it well and lashed out on Twitter, insulting fans and telling them how much he’s put into the club. I’m shocked as like you said I think he’s a model owner, but it seems him and the management team have clashed and he’s spat his dummy out.
