Get rid of the real cancer in the club, only when the venkys fuck off can we become a decent club again. The last two seasons we've been in the process of throwing away our play off chances around about this stage - now we're fighting relegation. To me there's no difference - shit results surrounded by a complete lack of ambition and decency at the club. I'd rather be in league 2 giving promotion a real good go as a proper club than bobbing up and down in the championship with o hope or soul left in the club.

Education is the most important thing at this stage but only if people are willing to listen. Two key arguments I'm seeing 1. "I'm no fan of the venkys but who us going to buy us" 2. "I just wish people would understand FFP" before then going on to list covid losses and funding of the academy as two areas we've spent money

I have vague memories of the 90s but my core Rovers memories are the tail end of Souness and into Mark Hughes. I can remember when we were a well run club with some cracking players. I'd say anyone under the age of 20 will only properly remember the venky era which is a sad thought.

I think "bare minimum" sums up the window perfectly. At one point though it didn't look like we were able to get that done so the late flurry may scew some people's perception of how good the window was.

I won't pass any judgement on the players we've bought in until we've seen them play. I agree with the post above about players being written off too early. This liverpool lad for example could be Mola or he could be Hill. However what we can pass judgement on is that our already threadbare squad has been plugged with 7-8 players who won't be here next season. We've kicked the can down the road but I don't think we'll see any of the Wharton money to bolster the squad. We've had to sell Wharton to keep the lights on and in the process we've kneecapped our manager, DoF and the whole recruitment team

Rumours are we were looking to sell the canteen chairs as well but JDT blocked it cos we might need to use one to play centre mid at the weekend.

I've been one of Broughtons defenders since he came in. I think overall he's good for the club and is one of the few at the club with honest intentions. However I think if today goes how we're all fearing and he doesn't resign in disgust at twice being kneecapped in the transfer window it raises question marks over his integrity. He can walk away now with his reputation in tact and can point to two big events that has made his job untenable. JDT, I wouldn't begrudge him if he packed it all in and walked away. Part of me thinks he will stay to the end of the season but only for the players and the fans.

Conor Bradley for Liverpool looks like a handy little player from the last couple of games I've seen of him and just got his first goal for the club.

This thread has gotten dusty! To try and force a little bit of hope back into people. We're 8 points off relegation and 11 points off 6th. We've got a game in hand over most so if we win that we're 11 off relegation and 8 off 6th. Players coming back from injury and a couple of good signings in the next 24 hours or so and we're back on track. Anyone? Anyone at all?
