  1. Not Jake Daniels but on the same theme. Gueye (ironically given his name) refused to play for PSG because there shirts had pride colour's on their numbers. Comments on the article about it show just how far football fans / society has to come. I haven't seen anything negative towards Daniels (although no doubt there will be) but it just highlights there is the undercurrent there. Wonder how gueye would react if his team mates refused to wear an anti racism message on their shirts?

Fairly mind blowing how many heads it's managed to go over, and are outraged. 🤦‍♂️

One I read was along the lines of "I know it's a joke mate but you're implying you had respect for the taliban in the first place"

    Promotion?

If you have a light bulb in your house and it stops working, do you sit there in the dark because you're worried if you buy a new one,  that may not work either?

The analogy is skewed. We've got a dim flickering light bulb, just about does the job but gives you a headache. We can replace it but only with one from a box that has been chucked into the backalley from the second floor window of the local hardware store. Be damned if I'm going into Wilkos to buy one! Also the light bulb has to be willing to fly out to India atleast once a year and have it's plans to light the room thoroughly scrutinised which not all good light bulbs are willing to do.... I think the metaphor has run out of stream.

For clarity I think we should have got rid ages ago and I welcome a fresh face but it's a bit of a leap into the unknown. Which I guess is no different to other clubs but we do like to scrape the barrell with our appointments.

  4. My view on mowbrays reign is that the club is in a better place now than when he found it. He's not a bad manager just very limited and its time to move on. He took us as far as he could and doesn't have what it takes to get us out of this division. As I say not a bad manager but not a good one, just OK. We can do better however we can do a lot lot worse we only need to cast our minds back to kean, the shit that came after him and the stage between bowyer and mowbray. The list of potential candidates puts this front and centre.

Whilst we could find the right guy and we push on, we could also land another Owen coyle. Its time for Tony to move on no doubt but we might be back on the manager merry go round again. Here's hoping we're not here in 2 years begging for mowbray back.

As it goes I’m one of those dinosaurs that finds tiki taka a touch dull at times so what do I know.

I'm with you there. I found peps Barcelona a bit boring in some games. The ball was largely passed around midfield for 5-10mins before an electric minute where the ball ends up in the back of the net. Rinse and repeat. Much prefer Liverpools style.

I also don't like how every team now tries to play out from the back because pep does it. What's wrong with 2 banks of 4 and the goalkeeper clearing a ball into row z like the good old days.
