Anyone got recommendations for good stand ups? I feel like there's not much good out there at the moment. I keep defaulting back to the old favourites, the new blood coming through just doesn't seem to be doing it for me when I see clips of them on panel shows etc.

if they’re sat on the bench waiting for the rest to get injured.
Let's be honest though its not going to be a long wait

My answer would be, if you don't like how I've done it, do it yourself next time
That would definitely push it into grounds for divorce!

Probably been said before but I'm not sure how comfortable I am spending 6m on one player. From all I've read it would be a punt getting this lad from Southampton so I think I'd rather spread it about and get 2 or 3 signings. 3 permanent and a couple of loans is way better than 1 permanent with 4 or 5 loans.

Some saying he's worth more than £6 million
Tbh in today's market I'm worth £6m so they're probably right.

Do you think there's some sort of "gentlemans" agreement in the obefami deal to get round the sell on clause to Newcastle? £9m up front for Adam and a couple mill off for obefami type thing?

Diaz was 500/1 to score 20+ league goals on sky bet a couple of days ago. I've just checked and its tumbled to 80/1. At 500 that's worth a tenner surely

Why is every transfer rumour and or signing we make nowadays associated in some way to Middlesbrough ? Oh wait, because Tony's knowledge is purely fixed in the North East
It's one of those automated pre screening questions. Like when you apply online for a job and it asks if you have a C on GCSE maths and if you answer no its an automatic rejection. Instead it's "Are you connected in any way to middlesbrough" no "sorry try another club"

Probably overworked due to the clubs transfer policy

Head of recruitment, fitness instructor, U23s manager, groundsman.
All within weeks of each other and all decent at their jobs by all accounts, also all seem to be heading downwards so they haven't been poached by looks of it.
This isn't good at all the replacements if there are any will probably follow some dot joining paths.
I really hope this isn't Waggot and Mowbray deflecting blame for their under achieving and getting their own way....again.
We had a fitness instructor?!?! 😮😮

The bit about it being plugged in reminded me of when I worked in an organisation full of middle aged women and was therefore due to being under 30,🙄🤔🤔🤔 by default first line IT support to help the main IT guy out.
I had the reception ring up one morning to complain that her computer just wasn't switching on and it was completely dead. I asked if it was plugged in and was met by quite an angry response and called a cheeky little ****. So I got up, walked down stairs "SEE LOOK, ITS PLUGGED IN TO THAT EXTENSION LEAD!!!!" I then calmly walked to the end of the extension lead, unplugged the hoover from the wall and plugged the extension lead back in and switched her computer on and walked out. She was a bit sheepish after that 🤣

Speaking of tech support I've noticed when ever I phone IT now they always do or get me to do gpupdate force. Is this because they're self conscious about "switching it off and on again" becoming a bit of a joke. I'm fairly sure gpupdate doesn't apply to half the issues I've had.

A 34 year old Lionel Messi has agreed to stay at Barcelona on a new 5 year deal at just 50%* of his previous wage.
* which was £123 million a season

I know why I dislike football more with each passing day.
He'll not be playing at the end of that 5 year contract. Instead of 2 or 3 years at his current wage they're giving him half as much for twice as long to get round the fact they've hit their salary cap.

Hope Tony will be there to do his induction
"If you go to that there Google, and type in 'Middlesbrough players past and present', then sign them up for a 3 year deal, if they're injured give them 4 cos they'll need longer to prove themselves. Then if you pull a piece of paper out this hat, that's where I'll play them all season, BTW do you want in on this housing development we're doing?"

Agbonlahor I can get on with, the others, deffo garbage.
Forgot to add Jason Cundy to my list
But then to their credit I could listen to Ali mocoist and Alan Brazil all day long. Simon Jordon I think is excellent and then there are some other cracking pundits as well. Especially on the breakfast show although I've not listened to that since I stopped commuting over a year ago.

Not TV but has anyone heard Carlton Cole on Talksport, what a gobshite!
They scrape the barrell with pundits at times. Cole, agbonlahor, Danny Mills, Danny Murphy, sinclair. All talk utter crap

His punditry is turd but he's a great laugh

I’m not sure what my answer would be to this question but if Rovers were offered £6-7m for Ben today, would you want Rovers to bite their hands off or want him to stay?
If we got 7million, would it all be reinvested? Not sure. Would it be reinvested wisely, not at all. We'd buy another striker to take his place on the wing. I think I'd rather take a punt on this experience giving him a bit of confidence and him benefiting from training and playing with better players and him having a decent season.

He came to us with bags of potential, hasn't warranted his price tag when playing for us, then has a decent debut for Chile with positive reviews in the press. I've been scratching my head trying to think of the one variable that could cause that pattern of events 🤔🤔🤔

Be serious, he's clearly been signed to replace Armstrong.
