  1. I'm very pro going 3-5-2 TAA Walker stones Ghuei Shaw(when fit) Rice Bellingham Saka Kane & someone else other than foden Gets trent on the field with reduced defensive responsibility. Gives stones the option to step into midfield like he does for city allowing Bellingham to go where he likes. Gives us a bit of width as well.
  2. I thought he was going where he wanted to be fair.
  3. That's how I'm looking at it. Germany used all their goals up against Scotland. We've got plenty more left to spend! Joking aside its how you finish it's not how you start. I think we'll play much better when we're not playing against 11 brick shithouses
  4. Don't worry lads I've just bet on 1-1 so it won't happen
  5. Saka, Bellingham and Ghuei the stand out performers. Foden once again doing nothing for England.
  6. Not scored after 6 mins. Southgate out boring bastard.
  7. TAA is both only interested in attacking with zero defensive ability and also a conservative choice in midfield... I heard loads of the anti-southgate crowd say over the last few months "Southgate won't have the balls to play Rice Trent and Bellingham in the middle". Good team imo apart from lb
  8. Give him a break - it's not like he writes for a living
  9. Nah I had a fiver on 3-0 Germany. They just need to see it out
  10. I know I was referring to the likes of Mike Dean and Peter Walton who Daren't criticise the refs or the var decisions in their punditry
  11. In fairness to her both times they went to her she gave a decisive answer unlike the Premier league coverage where they um and ah and agree with whatever decision is given.
  12. The squad has the premier league player of the season. La liga player of the season and bundesliga top scorer. Of the Top scorers in the PL 6 of the top 11 are English (I was looking at the top 10 but there's 3 tied in 9th). I wouldn't say we're overhyped - but defence as with every other tournament is a concern.
  13. Gomez did a decent job for Liverpool at left back for a good part of the second half of the season, I'd be tempted to start him and introduce Shaw slowly in the groups
  14. Damp squib. Meh. It's a friendly to get minutes into legs. Different line up different motivations next week. Thought TAA looked lively when he came on. No other noteworthy performances. Gordon looked a handful but end product was poor.
  15. Let's fast forward to 60 mins so we can see Wharton
  16. Hes still inexperienced internationally though. 6 caps in which hes been 'meh', spent his whole career at Brighton. Limited experience getting to the business end of a knock out tournament. Just cos he's older doesn't make him experienced.
  17. All three surely there on merit? I can't argue with any of them being on the plane.
  18. That's pretty much what I was thinking as well. I feel like he was taking a good look at Konsa and his versatility last night but he didn't wow me and I'd rather have gomez. Bowen is the one on that list I could see going but it depends if he takes all three forwards or not.
  19. Yeah to be fair I'd take him but I don't think Southgate will take him.
  20. No one thinks we should be getting 60m plus for him whilst being in the championship but an 18m initial fee is insulting. We should have been getting north of 20 and closer to 25 on initial fee with some meaty add ons
  21. The stand out fringe players from last night for me were Eze and Wharton. With 26 players in the squad there's enough room for a wild card and for me that has to be Wharton out of all the uncapped / low capped players he's head and shoulders above everyone. I think Joe Gomez has to be on the plane and would like to see some more of him against Iceland. Would chop, Trafford, Quansah and Jones but that still leaves another 4 to cut. I make it 12 players who could play in the front 4 so that could be trimmed down but not sure who. I don't think Gordon makes the cut. Kane Watkins and Toney seems excessive but Kane has been carrying a bad back so we may need three as cover especially as we don't have someone like Rashford who can play thorugh the middle as cover.
  22. My gut instinct (and this could be my beers and rose tinted glasses) is that he makes the squad and I think he gets minutes at the euros. We don't have another player like him in the squad. I wonder if TAA starts in midfield and Wharton is his back up if we need something different.
  23. Did anyone else stop watching the game and just have their eyes fixed on Wharton?
  24. Assume waggot negotiated 50p per England cap so now we'll be able to treat the first team to a fredo to share between them at the start of pre season
