  1. I thought he was immense against Leeds too but in other games not so at RB. He is more than capable though but I think he is best suited to CM but cant see him getting in there or as the defensive winger that TM loves, so likely to be there in away games. Fantastic professional to have around though and always great to have a utility player of his kind that can plug the gaps ably.
  2. No, I meant to help carry the slack through the season. DG rarely plays 90 minutes so it would be good for BB to replace him. Or perhaps have BB start and DG to come on later.
  3. Well, highly rated, played for England youths and has 50 Championship games under his belt already, so there is obviously something there. Am sure he will come good in some capacity but right now we need somebody that can help DG to carry the slack.
  4. Debating and having differing opinions is not being jumped on. None of us believe we know more than TM. It is a concern that what TM is seeing in training is somebody that he does not believe is good enough to be considered back up to Graham up front right now.
  5. But he isnt getting his chance though - this is part of the debate. When DG comes off, they put Dack up front instead of BB and todays comments suggest that if DG is not fit for QPR, BB will unlikely be getting a chance in that either as a striker. People understand the kid is young and are not laying the blame at his feet but are just commenting that the transfer has them a little puzzled when so much money has been spent on somebody who seemingly is not being trusted to play in the position he was originally bought for.
  6. Just seems a very odd signing if what TM says is the case. Saying, "Having watched him in training" does not suggest much scouting work was done or that many knew too much about him before we spent a huge sum on him. Was it a panic buy at the last minute? And if we DID know he would be better suited in the three behind rather than upfront, why did we even bother when we have tons of players in those positions already and instead find a proper striker? For me, he has not performed better than the likes of AA, Palmer, Rothwell, Reed or Bennett when playing there (yet) despite not getting too many minutes. So is he being picked purely to try and justify the signing as I have not seen anything so far that he suggests to be there on merit. He does not have the build, pace or flair for that position from what I have seen so far. Hope he proves us all wrong but we are now up shit creek if DG ever gets a serious injury.
  7. It will be tougher than many would expect but at the same time, QPR is a team that many would feel we should be finishing above and beating. We have had a tough run of games and now we have two that at home that we 'should' be going out to win rather than respecting them too much. I think his words are more aimed towards the players anyway, making sure they dont drop their levels or get complacent.
  8. I dont think we miss Dack as much as we would have last season. When playing he is tripled up on and he has not really been able to get at it in recent games (though been out of position for a couple). We have a like for like in Palmer who looked very good last time out - so if Dack is not nailed on fitness wise, i dont think we would lose out too much. Still vital and a gamechanger of course.
  9. Reed too spent most of last season at RB. This kid is like a younger Bennett. Should be in CM though in my opinion - much the same i think Bennett should.
  10. Think that will be very close to the lineup - bar maybe DG for BB and Bell on for Williams (simply because we dont have a CB on the bench and we need to be more attacking at home).
  11. When i said ignore these people - I was just saying what Chaddy said - with a smiley. Had nothing to do with your posts.
  12. Not disagreeing, but we would not even be in the hunt anyway as soon as Derby would have shown an interest. i doubt they are paying more than what we would have offered, just that they are seen as a bigger fish right now in this division.
  13. What sort of contract was Rhodes on when we snapped him up from L1? I certainly doubt he was on the reportedly 35k-40k per week he finished on and would have been remunerated well enough until he proved he could score goals in the Championship - which he did quite quickly and therefore got an extension and wage rise. Cannot see Marriotts wages being huge even for our current wage structure seeing as he had one good season in L1 prior. I bet Dack, Graham, Evans and Mulgrew earn more than him currently. That could change if he keeps banging the in of course.
  14. Scored and MOM against Chelsea last night. Dont buy the wages/fee argument with Marriott if we went for him. Was previously a L1 player earning peanuts at Peterborough. We could certainly have afforded him - It was possibly more the fact that he knew Derby went for him and he saw them as more attractive and better prepared to make an assault to get to the Premiership. As for the other two, Maddisson and Edwards, they are wingers and we all know that TM prefers inverted/converted strikers.
  15. Reed just has to start in the middle. TM bemoans the lack of defensive work by Rothwell but there is no way he can say the same for Reed, his display was epic and topped off with a screamer too. Like the team above but it could be argued its tough on Palmer as well. I expect Nyambe to be back for this one at RB after he played for the u23s and that will mean Bennett on one the wings.
  16. Leutwiler is currently the number two, so I would assume will play. Think he will be replaced within the next two windows though.
  17. The Canadians signing was a cleverone at the time. Formerly a number one for the past two seasons, more than capable in League 1 as a backup potential challenger for Raya and also gave us the ability to pick and choose whether we played on international weekends. I do feel the latter was the main reason though as surely we would not have liked to have been without Mulgrew and Evans a number of times throughout the season. He was seen as an area to improve by the then Shrewsbury boss though who flat out told him he would no longer be number one last season. That, his inexperience of playing in the Championship and the fact TM mentioned he would have liked to bring in another keeper in the summer does suggest that he is probably not deemed quite good enough for this league. That said, he is experienced and has represented his country - so I would expect him, as the official number two to be given the role over Fisher while we await the return of Raya.
  18. Now they want Reed instead though... Side note - the following exchange would not look out of place on here "Just flabbergasting comments on here. Can’t wait to see what manager everyone thinks will arrive here to replace Moore and walk the league. This place has become the most incredibly negative forum." "This past week has shown up a number of issues with the team that need addressing. If we can't offer constructive criticism and voice our opinion of them, then what is the point of even having a forum?Supporting a team means wanting what's best for it, and sometimes that means you have to be as prepared to point out its weaknesses as praise its strengths.I don't think I've seen one person here suggest we should be walking the league, but I think we all want to push and finish as high as possible."
  19. Bloody hell, 7 ft 3. He's been eating his Weetabix.
  20. One positive to come from playing Dack as the most advanced against WBA is that it would seem their fans are not too interested in signing him anymore. http://wbaunofficial.org.uk/showthread.php?tid=18541
  21. If he was perfect he wouldn't be managing us. Heck, look at the stick Mourinho gets and in many peoples eyes, rightly so. That guy has won trophies galore throughout a glittering career yet he gets a lot wrong as well. TM has done a lot of good stuff for this club and the bloke should be commended for how he has essentially turned us around. Does that mean he couldn't do better at times? He had his reasons for the lineup, of course and yes, it very nearly worked and without some injuries it could have rewarded us with three points. The thread kicked off when one poster comes on out of the blue to have a pop at everyone. The old negative vs positive argument once again. If he just came on to give his opinion like everyone else had rather than attacking people, we would be looking forward to the next match by now instead of still going back and forth on here.
  22. Cannot question this guys heart even if he might not be one of our better players. His attitude, dedication and professionalism alone puts him so far ahead of so many of the other wasters we have had over the years.
  23. Need to strike while the iron is hot in January, as if he keeps putting in these good performances others will be coming in or Southampton will decide to keep him. We all need to hope the they start winning a bit more.
