  1. Sentences start with a capital letters - basic stuff they teach 6 year olds.
  2. Its on now - you are seriously correcting people on spelling with your 'extremely' poor grasp of the English language?
  3. In that single match Ronaldo has done more at international level than Messi has. Messi is a fantastic player, one of the best of all time but he doesnt seem to be able to carry Argentina in the same way that Ronaldo does Portugal. Like him or hate him - this guy is special. He has a major international win already and Messi doesnt. In years gone by this will be the same debate as Pele vs Maradonna.
  4. Think ill avoid this thread until a transfer is made.
  5. Agree is not the easiest group but that first game drawn perfectly for them. I expect they know they will not get too far but wanted to generate some hype in the country with an easy first 3 points.
  6. Its amazing that they were drawn in their very first match to play possibly the weakest side in the tournament. Highly doubt it is a coincidence, previous cups maybe but not anything that Russia is involved in.
  7. Me! Once tipped myself to become the next Shearer but women, booze, and undersized goals made from jumpers and with imaginary crossbars (that was in, that was in!) meant that my goalscoring record was a pitiful one in six pints.
  8. It is quite funny the impatience - I was reading the Shrewsbury board a few days ago and they were moaning that they their new manager had not made a single signing within his first week of being there. Three days later he signed two in a day and they all loved him. Well know things move slowly in Venkyland - Ill start to worry in a week or two.
  9. Something else I thought of that is a bit farcical is that I assume the USA, Canada and Mexico are now automatically in the World Cup without qualifying. Brain fart, lets do a UK and Republic of Ireland joint bid - at least we will all take part for once.
  10. Cant agree with the last sentence but can with pretty much everything else. Small fee or even no fee next season, up and coming player with the obvious ability to play at Championship level. He wont be on much here either as still on his first senior contract having coming up from the youth in the Championship. Resale value, potential to become a top championship and possibly PL player someday - midtabe champs clubs at the very least will have him their radar. Birmingham or Sheff Utd are not really a step up for him in terms of ambition i feel.
  11. We better not be looking to sign players released by Birmingham that end up in India. Rather sign Lowe back again.
  12. Yep - it was reported that 4 or 5 (?) senior players looked to leave at the end of last season? He was one of them in my opinion. Cant blame a kid for wanted to progress his career and this has hardly been the best run club in close to a decade. I feel the Sheff Utd move was pretty much rubber stamped and the injury put paid to it. He could quite easily have been told that once he recovers they are there for him. Right now it would be a bit of a sidewards move as we are back but I would imagine there will now be other suitors due to his age, performance and lower asking price due to contract.
  13. Why would he be off? Managerial position or something?
  14. We all know that whether or not players can legally speak to clubs that they will be told of interest of varying degrees anyway. Hurst was practically signed by Ipswich long before the season ended for him at Shrewsbury. Managers/players will know where they are wanted. The worry with Darragh is that he is a young player than can play a couple of positions that was already hunted by Championship clubs a season ago with fees of a million + touted, he got injured and that set it all back. His stock has now risen with an international cap and promotion under his belt and he is now 1 year cheaper. He will know he will be able to secure a move with better wages possibly. He could have his pick of clubs in 1 year time with the one offering the best wages (as the fee will be lower) being where he goes. Graham was a priority too but in terms of actual value to the club in a monetarily sense, Lenihan should have been sorted long ago. The longer it drags on the more concerned I get.
  15. I was born in 78' so I would just like to see one here at all.
  16. Linked to David Cotteril - seriously no ty. Saw the link in the links thread but came back here to discuss it - this is how it works right?
  17. We havnt hosted the World Cup in 50+ years despite inventing the sport and having one of the best leagues in the world and countless stadiums that could host the matches. Yet America, a country that does not even enjoy the sport much, basically gets it again despite having it 20 years ago. I know we werent in the running this time but we were for this one and certainly deserved to get it above Russia - corruption at its best from Russia and FIFA.
  18. Only thing I can see that might hurt the Brazilians is the climate, other than that I think they will walk it. Tipping France to have a shocker, Spain to do just ok and Germany to once again start slowly and get better as they progress. England, if we can get out of the group you just never know.
