  1. Also convicted of gang rape in Italy and faces a 9-year stretch.
  2. Not falling for it - you had me refreshing Twitter all day yesterday after your last 'imminent' arrival. Not doing it today - would be nice if true though.
  3. Dont know much about this guy but he does seem to fit the big lummox mould. German too so we should win everything in site.
  4. And here is the demeaning of the World Cup startin. Russia is the second lowest ranked team in the world at this cup and we are meant to get excited about them playing. Pffft...not for me. Rigged WC and probably a rigged draw to boot.
  5. Clips of him suggest the same. Not an out and out winger, another who will probably play in a 3 behind. Has a bit of pace though another shorty.
  6. You got the wrong brother there. Mixing him up with Hakeeb Adelakun - who is the one we should be after. Interesting Hull and Forest though, still should put our hats int he ring though.
  7. Certainly is a worry - we know that if it wasnt for his injury last summer he would probably have been off to Sheff Utd. His stock will be even higher after a call-up and with just a year to go on his contract, his fee will be falling continuously. He could quite easily keep his options open to see how we do next year before making a decision on his contract.
  8. Lenihan is the one i want to hear about and then Dack. Hopefully we start moving in the transfer market once we have tied down the players we want.
  9. Believe he is yes. Risky signing due to his injury problems but one that might be worth taking for the right price.
  10. He plays well and gets along with Dack well it seems, anyone not happy with another 12 months of that would be bonkers. He will need replacing soon though, so we really need to find somebody else that could grow into that role. Samuel has seemingly worked hard preseason so far but I still dont see him as a striker and would probably be better offering his pace as one of the three behind.
  11. Bit dodgy around the shoulders but a decent cut none the less.
  12. One year with the option of another. Probably incentive-based whether that gets activated. Just what I was hoping for as will keep him motivated and hopefully playing well.
  13. Hector has certainly been around in a relatively short career. Played in just about every League in England bar the top flight, played in Ireland, Scotland and even had a stint int he Bundesliga. Has had plenty of Championship experience in the last few years though. 6 foot 4 - could be a decent option.
  14. Not a surprise at all considering the quality and experience he has at this level and the fact he is practically out of contract. Lots of clubs will be looking to free transfers so I am not surprised that this dragging of our heels has led to further interest - if true.
  15. There are arguments about how effective it really is but like you say, there is not much else that can be done. its not just the English league in Europe either, I mean you rarely see black managers in any of the major national leagues in Europe. Id like to see someone like Thierry Henry go on and become a successful manager to perhaps break the mould a little.
  16. Like I said, he did make some good points. Lampard, Gerard and Barton all walk into jobs without any experience so why is this not so much the case for black players? He ruined it by going the wrong way about it though, using Campbell as an example and then attacking Wright and Kamara saying they dont really count as they are Toms or whatever.
  17. You also do not get released by your last two championships clubs if you are a decent player. They have probably looked at his opta stats and seen his high passing rate as well - just they will soon find out that these were mainly passes backwards or sidewards no more than 10 feet away.
  18. Rio Ferdinand and Thierry Henry also get regular punditry gigs so I am really not sure how he can play the race card here. As Tomphil said, the bigger names in football are the ones that usually get offered punditry gigs. Stan Collymore was a decent player but it is clear he killed off any chance of punditry when he publicly beat Ulrika in 1998. Getting caught tossing off in a car park would not have helped either.
  19. Thanks, yes it seems you are right. Uncle Tom is the title character of Harriet Beecher Stowe's 1852 novel, Uncle Tom's Cabin. The term "Uncle Tom" is also used as a derogatory epithet for an exceedingly subservient person, particularly when that person is aware of their own lower-class status based on race.
  20. Think its something like that yeah or black people bowing down to whites or something. Another term I saw on Twitter in the comments was a coconut - dark on the outside but white on the inside. Lets be honest though, I think it is quite clear why Collymore does not attract much media work and his name calling reply to Wright sums up those reasons. He is just not a very nice person who has been in the media alot for the wrong reasons, beating up Ulrika for instance. To then suggest it is down to skin colour and nothing else is way off. he does make some good points about the likes of Lampard, Gerrard and Barton walking straight into management but his own personal case cannot be argued really.
  21. Completely agree...he might make some good points but it reeks of jealousy from his side. Calling out Wright and Kamara as basically just clowns - is a bit off in my opinion.

  23. Not sure if anyone read Collymores piece in the Guardian yesterday but he is bemoaning his lack of opportunities in getting media work and the fact that Lampard, Barton and Gerrard walk into managerial positions while the likes of Sol Campbell have been ignored for years. Basically said that Ian Wright and Chris Kamara only got pundit roles for their comedic values and Jenas because he is bland and inoffensive. Ian Wright replied on Twitter suggesting there are other reasons why Collymore is not given pundit work (wife-beating and dogging springs to mind) and Collymore replied calling him a c***.
  24. Could have just said that Xia is BS'ting. Why are all your posts so long winded and not to point?
