  1. Isak is 10x the player. No chance they were lining up BB as a replacement.
  2. Shock horror, the interest of others clubs has gone away - there never was any.
  3. Yeah...dont think we should be going to Leeds for any more left backs.
  4. Bowler has been at 3 clubs. QPR, bought for 1.5 mil up to 4.5 mil by Everton, on loan at Hull and looked good when I saw him. How is him being 22 relevant to anything? Same age as BB but we are constantly told he is an investment.
  5. He just popped back for the clearance sale! https://twitter.com/Rovers/status/1408337962228600840?s=20
  6. I remember seeing him play against us for Hull when on loan there and thought he was pretty good. On a free that's a good signing for Blackpool. Plus, that 1.5 was the initial fee rising to 4.5m with add-ons.
  7. We dont play long ball. We play it out from the back.
  8. Going from Mowbray to Keane - that would certainly shakeup the dressing room! Mowbray trying to keep everyone happy (without even managing it) by doing stuff like rotating the subs bench (awww bless, so everyone gets a turn to sit in the good seats!). I bet the substitutions are all pre-planned too. Always seem to happen at the same time every match. probably promises everyone will get on at some point no matter how the match is going. Its all too cozy for the manager and the player. And...(in the words of Dragon's Den)...for that reason I am in! Id take Keane just to put a rocket up this lot. Even if he fails it will be fun to watch.
  9. If the link is indeed true. Highly doubtful if you ask me.
  10. Of course, BB would be better under any manager, but especially Beisla. I just don't buy it. BB mania sells right now and Beisla is a lazy link. BB wasnt even Chilean two years ago and I highly doubt he caught Biesla's eye back then.
  11. Mowbray: Hold my beer! Plus, i'm not so confident about that. Our form was relegation form of the highest order during that run of 2 wins in 17. We came a lot closer to going down than reaching our top 6 target and I bet most of us thought our squad was better than at least 18 others considering TM said our target was the playoffs.
  12. Just cant see it - looks like lazy journalism to me. Beisla has been interested in BB since he played against him two seasons ago? He was awful two seasons ago.
  13. So we shouldn't expect much as we have not spent 100 million. Neither has any team in the Championship but hey ho...
  14. That also says Chapman has snubbed a new deal. Nobody wants to play for this manager it seems.
  15. I also felt Holtby wasn't happy. I reckon a lot of the squad aren't. When Amari Bell is refusing to re-sign, Nyambe too, Rothwell, i think the players are far from convinced with TM and how he mismanages players. Gallagher on the wing ffs, even played him RB lol. False nines, two lbs, Reed needed to learn how to play midfield, and now thinks we were good during 2 wins in 17. Unbelievable he is still here, should have gone two seasons ago IMO but definitely this one due to that run and setting a top 6 target.
  16. Wilshere, another in a long line of wasted talent. Wouldn't touch him, wrong age, career near the end - he wouldn't have any ambition (as shown throughout most of his career) and would basically be here for nothing other than the money. Plus, injury prone - so we probably will sign him.
  17. When you log in after a sleep and the transfer thread is the same page as it was beforehand.
  18. Yeah, come on - we all love the kid, right? His transfer was wrong and all that side stuff - but put your selves in his shoes right now! Dude is in south america, getting caps and is a twitter meme. Could do great for his confidence - lets hope!
  19. 5 Mil? You having a laugh. On his Championship exploits no way. That said, he keeps banging them in for Chile against Peru, Bolivia, and Porto ricko, he might up his worth. Look i love the lad and this must be amazing for him - really hope he comes back a top championship player. But these people now piping up that this justifies us paying 7 million quid for him need to take a step back.
  20. TM already had Armstrong previously in L1 and Dack won player of the season 2 out of the 3 previous years in that division. The season he didnt was just after his 'corner' scandal - so was the perfect time for us to snap him up. TM knew all about them already - so doubt they were scouted.
  21. You speak a lot like fact - do you have a direct line to the Venky's? How do you know it was a separate budget? We were in for that QPR attacking mid just before we bought this kid - 5 mil we were looking to plump on him and he wasnt a kid. Assombolonga was also linked alongside Gallagher and Bamford. Don't forget that BB was OFFERED to us by an agent employed by Forest to get rid of him, at the last minute - hardly scouted was he? IMO - see this is an opinion not stated as fact. We had a decent budget at the beginning of our FFP 3-year cycle - so could spend. We wanted to get in a big name, big money signing. TM obviously wanted an attacker with DG soon to be on his last legs. However, rather than spread this 7 million around on the squad and buy a defender or two and a cheaper but more ready striker - he plumped to spend it all on a marque signing. TM has said as much in interviews that the money was burning a hole in his pocket. However, big money strikers that are already banging them in at this level will cost in wages. TM says we have a rigid wage structure here - which is why we couldn't get in the likes of those listed above. We got Gallagher a year later because he was in last year of his contract and he took a big wage cut to come. The year before a deal couldn't get worked out. We had that money in our pockets and couldnt spend it - so TM took a huge gamble on a kid not scouted at the last minute. Thats it in a nutshell. What we should have done IMO, was to buy a couple of defenders and perhaps taken a lower level risk on a striker. No other clubs spend that sort of money at all - let alone on an unproven kid that has been here 3 years and still is not worth a fraction of that fee. Now, hopefully this Chilean adventure helps the situation and he comes back full of confidence and starts banging them in next season. However, whether he does or not doesn't change the fact that at the time it was a poor transfer and still is.
