  1. I can understand JR and RN but JRC? JR and RN have been in and out of the team and might feel they deserve better but JRC only really broke in at end of last season and start of this and generally plays when fit.
  2. yeah cos you suggest about 300 players every summer lol. Even a blind squirrel eventually finds a nut
  3. Why dont images work anymore? Couple times i tried now.
  4. Young hungry manager that wants to succeed and get to the top - we missed the boat. We have a dino that's been at the top, failed, and is at the end of his career. More interested in preserving his career over anything else.
  5. So you're saying JRC is so good that had he not been injured we would be top 6 now? Yes it was a coincidence. Ouyr high pressing style early on got us a load of goals until teams figured out how to handle it. JRC was not the causation as to why we hammered newly promoted teams with 10 men - as much as you would like it to be. Take out those early matches and i think you will find JRCs stats are nowhere near as impressive. If nyambe had played against Coventry and Wycombe with 10 men at the start of the season, there would be no discussion of who was the better option for FB. This is where data fails. Jason Lowe got a career because of data - tells you all you need to know.
  6. Still young too, so plenty of time to change tack. I still didn't know what I wanted to do at 21, so he is on an even par with me at that age.
  7. They should just sing Three Lions on a Shirt...
  8. They both have qualities that if you could merge them into one player would make him a PL level fullback. Nyambe has pace, strength, the ability to beat a man 1v1 and is obviously the much better defender. Unfortunately, although he has improved with his final ball/crossing, he still isnt very good. In fact, his range of passing all together is quite lacking. Always on the floor, always short distances - have you ever seen Nyambe play a crossfield pass? Even his crosses are generally just hit hard along the ground or pulled back (though he may be instructed to do that). As for JRC, he is quite the opposite. Good passing range, more creative, has good positional awareness and can put good deliveries into the box. He is more vocal too (remember seeing him shout at Gallgher "stop losing the fucking ball!"). He lacks the physicality and pace which makes it difficult to take on other players 1 v 1. His lack of defensive qualities often means he is usually skinned by quick wingers/wide forwards. For me, I like defenders that can defend over anything else so it is Nyambe for me. For JRC, its difficult to know where best to play him and I guess that is why he is a bit of a utility man. Perhaps in the middle somewhere but then you lose his crossing ability. Wide right? Cant be much worse than Gallagher.
  9. JRCs stats benefit alot from our early season form before teams figured us out and we were hammering newbies with 10 men.
  10. He really hasn't been given much of a chance though has he? Let's be fair. Under another manager he is tearing it up in a poor team in the league below. 1 in 2 his goal record there. Admittedly, he is playing more a Dack role but obviously there is a player there that has been under utilised at this level. Few bench appearances here and there ands that's your lot for him.
  11. Even when you look at the likes of Mclaren and Carvalho (w/e his name is) - neither hardly went on to become greats despite being under Fergies apprenticeship.
  12. We're not buying wingers - we play CF's there remember. We already have one who is ripping up League 1 and showing he is too good for that league - didn't get a look in here and will leave on a free. But yeah, lets buy some other wingers from the leagues below so TM will player strikers instead.
  13. He'd be the butt of all jokes here if he went there and did like an Ince or Kidd.
  14. He has started whenever fit. Took a knock in his 2nd or 3rd game for them I believe.
  15. To clarify, Neil is nowhere near top of my list. But he is better than TM. The end.
  16. Rhodes could finish second only to Shearer in my time. AA was called the mini-shearer, but seriously, he aint a patch on him. Shearer was not selfish - he was clinical. If a chance come to him, you could 9/10 bet your house he scores. AA, needs 5-6 chances.
  17. Good managers get you promoted, you pay for them or you continue to lose 20 mil per season. I sometimes wonder how that lot got rich.
  18. But we didt lose our 3 best players...Tm has not had to sell anyone.
  19. id swap Neil for TM in a second. The guy had no money to spend, ours did - yet look at the table.
  20. Did a good job overall, guess like with most clubs (not us though) things start to go stale after a while
  21. Thought most of us thought on paper he was a good signing at the time. Boro fans said on his day he is one of the best CBs in the league. The hint was that most said he always gets injured around Xmas time - well fck me we have barely seen him. When he has played he hasnt been too bad - he just doesnt play. Then, he really doesnt suit our style, so I question his recruitment. Surely this new fangled system requires somebody that can run and play a bit, ie a Tosin (who went for cheap to WBA). Has a bit of panic signing to it, or something to do with the Boro connection.
  22. I thought we took the more scientific approach to transfers these days. Surely data would have shown that Ayala does not run much and would therefore not fit into the way we play? Complete guff as you say.
