  1. Rothwell and Travis are our only two CM's that like to go forward with the ball, having both out is huge. Rothwell has been immense so far this season at forcing us forward - definitely his best position.
  2. Can we just have a whip round for whoever ordered the new fax machine at Ewood? First time it has not let us down.
  3. Not eligible to play. Only transfers done before noon yesterday are eligible to play on Saturday - I believe. Douglas and Trybull are fine but Pears and Elliott are not.
  4. I think it will be a tactic from the bench if anything. Well, I hope so. Against stubborn teams that are difficult to break down, throw on SG on the right and try those far post balls for him to miss sitters (like last time)
  5. Interesting that Manning went for just 250k. You would assume we would have known about this having been linked with him previously - we would have been alerted by an agent I am sure. Means we either made a decision to not buy him or he made a decision he didn't want to come to us. My thinking is TM wanted a bit more experience in the squad and the character that Douglas apparently has. Winning mentality too with 2 promotions under his belt. I guess the plan is to get him on a contract after the loan if he does well. Manning offered the better long term option and excellent resale value at 250k but I wonder if TM was put off for any reason.
  6. Yup dont want to be drawn into posting my ideal first 11 until I have seen a few of them. Ayala and Douglas get in obviously (I do not even need to see Douglas to make that decision, absolutely better than Bell). Trybull and even Elliott, I need to see more before I decide if they are going to displace anyone in my first team. I am guessing Trybull will be competition for Johnson and Evans for one spot in midfield. Holtby will have Buckley and if he comes, Downing for the quarterback role. Travis and Rothwell for the remaining spot. Up front you have AA, Dack and SG for central, BB and Elliott for left side, Dolan, Chapman, and again Elliott for right side. In fact, AA could come in on either side too if you wanted Dack in that middle spot. For me anyway, SG is a winger for TM apparently.
  7. The Greek GK and possibly some of our younger CBs? too? But Yes and Joe did it last night.
  8. All players we own that are u21 do not have to be registered as far as I know. Players under that age on loan (Elliott) do have to be registered.
  9. JRC would be on the bench ahead of him simply because he can cover more positions. He can cover RB, LB and both flanks - can also play CM too if needs be.
  10. For me he doesnt even make the bench though - unless injuries. I can kind of see why we have gone for numbers though. With so many games in a short space of time its going to be a challenge. Likely to be more knocks and injuries etc.
  11. I think we do probably have one more space in the 25 (not including u21 players) - somebody did it last night (think was Joe). Still, for the positions he will cover, it still makes little sense to me. After the window we have had though, I will trust TM on this one.
  12. Which is doubly annoying as they still have him in our division and secondly, we didnt get a cut of a fee.
  13. And Buckley seems the more natural replacement for Holtby as he has looked like he is adapting to mens football nicely now. Downing can do that job too but surely it would block the young lad for another season.
  14. Exactly, before Elliott I could understand it as a utility player, and before Trybull I would have totally agreed with it. Now, however, I just do not see where he fits in. People are already posting first team 11's without players like Rothwell and Johnson getting in - which is harsh considering their performances so far this season and now we might be adding another who is unlikely to get in and be quite a way down the pecking order. Never thought I would get to a point where I am hoping TM 'stops' bringing players in! Well, unless its cover at CB.
  15. Bananarama gone to West Spam - so that's Brentford weaker. This has to be the season we go for it.
  16. Plus Dolan is still very raw...he has been great so far but since he has been 'trending' Cardiff showed how to deal with him. We cannot rely on him at such a tender stage in his career. its great to have him AND Elliott, scary for opponents. Dolan is ours and still very young, if he keeps working as hard as he is, he will have a good career. We now have more depth and he will still get plenty of game time im sure. Besides, Elliott usually plays left side so we could have both of them on.
  17. Exactly, who will he hold back? It doesn't matter anyway, our aim is to get promoted, not put our focus on the career of young footballers. if they are good enough they will get in the team or forge good careers in the game elsewhere. There is no loyalty, we could give game time to the Buckley's, JRC's Davenports and the rest only for them to be snapped up by somebody else anyway - where does that get the club?
  18. I saw that - had to bite my lips, ass cheeks, foreskin and everything else to not comment.
  19. Signing of the day btw, has to be Josh Simms on loan at Doncaster.
  20. Seems so. Also seems many were right that he is just a show-pony. Bristol stumped up quite a lot of cash for him, so to be loaning him to a rival does not look good.
