  1. I actually think this is a great opening fixture for us, as there is very little pressure. Bournemouth will be massive favourites and while most rovers fans, like myself, will be optimistic there should be an overall recognition that they have a far superior squad to us. It’s almost a free hit, which means we should avoid the disappointment and anger experienced when we lost on the opening day to Charlton last season, who many saw as a home banker. Having said that, this is still a game we can get points from, especially as relegated teams tend to take one or two games to get going, such as Fulham who lost to Barnsley on the opening day last season. Along with that we probably have a more settled squad than them, so I can see it being a fairly even game. I would go with: Kaminski nyambe lenihan Williams New/bell travis holtby evans JRC Arma BB subs: fisher, Wharton, Bennett, Johnson, rothwell, Chapman, Dolan. would actually prefer Davenport over Johnson but can’t see TM going with that. I think our recruitment this week will actually have a massive impact upon the outcome for this game. I think In centre back we have enough to get by one or two games if need be but at LB we really need to get someone in, Bell will cost us games. Going for a 1-1 draw.
  2. Would love Ampadu on loan from Chelsea. Probs out of our reach in terms of wages and prem interest but would be a great signing and is yet to go anywhere.
  3. According to lancs live : - Phillips and Sarr are none starters. - A deal for a centre back is still currently being worked on aswell as a foreign target.
  4. While I agree that Maglorie was impressive I would still have Wharton ahead of him, as there were one or two moments where he demonstrated a lack of experience. Defo a player to watch this season though.
  5. Really impressive performance. - Shout out to Magloire and Williams at the back, thought they were both excellent. - Nymabe was man of the match - Bell was better than normal but still desperately need to bring someone in there. - Holtby oozed class, plays one touch football and always moves it quickly. Travis, Buckley and Davenport all impressed aswell. Johnson was poor. - Thought everyone who played in the front 3 was decent enough. Excellent stuff from JRC, has to start in that front 3 next week with arma and Brereton.
  6. Unreal stuff from JRC
  7. Missing out on Kipre is very frustrating but I don’t think we can blame the club for this one. We just have to move on. We desperately need a new first team left back and centre back before next Saturday. Need to get a move on.
  8. If we’ve missed out can we get a name?
  9. Makes me assume that it’s either a prem Youngster on loan, a free transfer, or a signing from abroad. Assume it would of been reported in the media if it was a domestic perm transfer.
  10. From what we’ve been told it’s a player who we haven’t been linked with this summer but have been in previous windows.
  11. really wouldn’t surprise me if we end up signing no one today. It is rovers after all.
  12. Due to the fee quoted in January I very much doubt it’s him. However, I like many on here, have long said we are in need of natural wide players who provide width and pace. Imagine a front 3 of Jozwiak - Armstrong - Brereton could be quite effective with Gally, Chapman, Dolan and Rothwell as back ups. I guess there’s a chance that the fee has been significantly reduced due to COVID but that’s probably unlikely. Though I do agree we need to be focusing our financing resources on the defensive positions we need.
  13. So was mine about jozwiak ?
  14. I was thinking maybe it’s a suggestion that the player is from Bolton Wanderers. Wonder - Wanderers. But thinking about it’s probably abit far fetched.
  15. Was impressive with Luton last season, would be happy with him though would prefer him on a permanent deal. Also think Sarr would be good buisness on a free transfer, certainly an upgrade on Williams.
  16. will be scenes if it’s Kipre. I imagine it’ll be Sarr or someone like that.
  17. I am 100% in the boat of ‘we need to move on to other targets’ however I can’t help but think we won’t get better than Kipre in the market we are currently looking at. Having seen him play on a number of occasions, he is a high quality championship centre back who is strong in the air, quick and importantly for us, good on the ball. I actually rate him higher than Lenihan. His age is also a massive plus, in a year or two he could easily be worth between 5-10 million. For me, at 900k he is an absolute bargain and would be a huge coup. For me that is the frustration, especially as it seems it’s a deal we have come close to (and might still do), but has just seemed to get away from us. I think all of us can understand why he may of have had his head turned by prem interest/wages so I don’t hold anything against him in that regard. It does feel like we still have a chance, even more so now that the West Brom deal has stalled. But as I’ve said, we shouldn’t wait on him, especially as the season fast approaches. Think it would actually be easier for the club if he just signed for them as then we would be in a position where we actually know where we stand. If he does end up joining I’ll genuinely be over the moon because it would be a great deal for the club, but think it’s time to move on. Interested to see what our alternatives are.
  18. Is this something you have heard? Personally just want this saga to be done with now, would be nice if we could nab him while West Brom hesitate.
  19. according to many on Twitter Kipre is having a medical with West Brom so I reckon it’s time we put this one to bed.
  20. Honestly I just want this Kipre deal to be announced one way or another, hopefully to us, just so we can all be out out of our misery. In other news I see that Stefan Johansen is available on loan from Fulham, he would be a great signing for us.
  21. Can’t see Kipre going anywhere but West Brom but it seems like the guy on twitter who originally broke the news still thinks he’s coming to us.
  22. Is this an assumption or have you heard something? Hope your right!
  23. Have to say I feel like people are overreacting to this. I like many hope it is a CB or a LB as they are clearly needed, but I also feel like we need another midfielder, esp as were going with this 4 - 3 - 3 formation. In the grand scheme of things it doesn’t matter what order we sign positions, aslong as we sign all of them. If the right player comes along then we arnt gonna turn it down because we want to sign other positions first. I’m sure (Hope!)the club isn’t stupid enough to waste finances on less crucial additions, I’m sure they’ve set out a budget for each position with a centre back and left back having the majority of our budget dedicated to them. One thing I am worried about is that there seems to be a disturbingly lack of left back rumours.
