Really hoping it’s Kipre!

Thought BB had a good game, put himself about and tried to make things happen. Was always willing to beat his man and he rolled his fullback a number of times especially in the 2nd half. Shocking miss tho. Chapman offered very little, meanwhile Dolan was very lively. He looks so Lightweight but uses his body so well with his low centre of gravity. Actually feel like he should be starting against Bournemouth. Their first goal was never a pen and there second was down to shocking errors from bell and fisher. In general though the defence wasn’t good enough. I hope that only Lenihan is in that starting backline at the beginning of the league season. happy to get the win.

For some reason still have hope that we might get Kipre. Hoping Westbrom go for Duffy instead. Anyone who might be ITK heard anything?

Decent player. Left footed aswell so would offer some balance to the backline. If we managed to get him and Kipre I would be very happy. The word from West Brom is that they still haven’t made a formal bid as they still have eyes on other targets.

Tbf if you read the article it does seem a lot of it is guesswork from Sharpe, it would be fair to assume a prem club would be favourites over a championship team.

In other news I have to say I’m impressed with Millwall’s business this window. They’ve just got Scott Malone on loan who is a very good left back at this level. Would of been happy with him here.

Rich Sharpe saying on Twitter that the deal for Kipre hasn’t progressed as quickly as rovers would of liked but that they were still trying for it, says the club hasn’t given up hope of getting it done despite prem interest.

The only hope is that the local West Brom journo has reported that West Brom are in for a number of defenders, including Duffy. According to him no formal bid has been made. Still think he will end up with them though

Sky have just reported that west Brom are closing in on him. Claims that the lure of prem football has beaten off other competitors. however Sharpe, despite confirming the West Brom interest, seems to believe there is still a chance. Can’t see it though

The premier league interest only highlights why Kipre would be such an impressive deal for us. As others have said Rich Sharpe doesn’t normally put a name to the rumours, or the fee involved, unless Rovers are close to securing the deal so there’s hope that we will get it over the line. Time will tell.

Would be nice to get a confirmed name in regards to this CB that we are seemingly close too/working on signing. If it is Kipre I’ll be amazed, just seems too good to be true, which isn’t normally the route rovers go down. Interestingly Sharpe tweeted last night about his frustrations with twitter accounts that just make up rumours. Not sure if that relates to any rovers rumours or not.

Morgan Gibbs-White is an unreal signing for Swansea. Will be one of the best midfielders in the league I reckon.

Happy to hear that Mulgrew is leaving, been a great servant to the club but we just cannot afford to keep him, especially as he never plays. In terms of Williams I actually feel like he’s a very good squad player to have, he’s a decent back up centre half and can do a job at left back, however if the fee is decent then I could understand why we would let him go, heard that there’s interest from MLS. Seems that there is genuine interest in Kipre, we may just struggle with the fee unfortunately, one to keep an eye on maybe. Glad to hear that we’re actually focusing our finances on our backline for a change.

The fact that Sharpe hasn’t disregarded this leads me to believe that there might be a something in it. In terms of Schmidt, he seems to be giving the signals that he is on his way. Can’t say I know much about him or what kind of player he is. Glad to see that things are finally moving! Makes this thread a lot less depressing
