I’ve taken a break from this forum and all Rovers news the past few days. The worrying slump, Diaz out rumours, VanHecke to Sunderland and our lack of competency in the transfer market were to depressing to bare. Without reading through numerous pages am I right to believe that getting VanHecke back isn’t dead? Completely changes the the outlook on our transfer business if so. It doesn’t look good at the moment but things could change quickly: - We could quite easily win our next two league games against Stoke and Blackpool or at least nab 4 points. - VDB and JPVH sign up - Phillips new deal - Dack cements his place back in the team On top of that we 100% need an attacker with pace and LB. One can dream.

Van Hecke is the best CB to have played for the club in the last 10 years IMO. Easily worth 8m - I reckon we could get him for 4-5 tho

Interesting game this. If we had played on Saturday then I would see this as a nailed on win - however it’s a short turnaround from the gruelling game against West Brom. I would be very open to some rotation. Kaminski Brittain Phillips ayala Edun Travis Morton Dolan/Markandy Dack Diaz Gally Give Szmodics, Hedges, Buckley and Pickering a rest and put them back in against Sheffield United. I think this may be the first time we see a team sit in against us so will be interesting to see how we overcome it.

Likewise first game of the season for me! As a LDN based Rovers fan you have to savour every game. Anyone know how many we’ve sold for this? Tickets are at a decent price for once.

I don’t disagree however difficult to call it a mistake yet. Phillips might really step up and prove he capable of handling this level.

It’s a real shame we missed out on Ahemodzic - our window would be looking top top tier if we had got that one over the line. Sheffield United fans are raving about him. Ideally we get Van Hecke in however I wouldn’t too opposed to Marvin Ekpiteta from Blackpool. Massively underrated.

For me a CB of real quality (we all know who that is) and a goal scoring striker that suits the system gets us firmly in the mix for playoffs. Unfortunately we don’t have the quality across the squad to push for top 2. Was thinking earlier how well Weiman from Bristol City would fit in upfront for us… we’ll out of our budget though.

If Diaz goes I can 100% see Birmcevic being our replacement. Knows Tomasson and would directly fit in his fluid front 4.

Honestly Van Hecke literally makes sense from all angles…

To be honest I would be more than happy with 1 CB 1 LB and a genuine winger.

Interested to see who we are next linked with as the main rumours have now been tied up with Styles, Bowler and JPVH having been linked for a while

Honestly if we were to add Bowler and Styles to our team our starting 11 would easily look play off material. kaminski Brittain Ayala Wharton Styles travis Buckley bowler dolan Diaz Gally Serious potential in that team. If you were to add VanHecke in aswell then it would be impossible to not be hopeful about our chances this season. Would still be serious questions about the squad depth though
