So tomorrow would have been the final day of the season but it’s not to be. FM have predicted the final results and have us in 8th going into the final game just 1 point behind Preston and 2 behind Bristol City with a better goal difference. Those two play each other whilst we head to already relegated Luton. A win for us takes us to the play offs. It’s all being virtualised on the Skysports live blog from mid day tomorrow.

What’s the odds on us virtually nicking the last play off place.

A win would take us into the Play Offs only if Preston and Bristol draw..and we better Millwalls result !!

I played it for hours, that's what made me two footed as a player I think. I still remember one shot I made. We were playing on a playground bounded with a grass verge. We were using the back wall of a toilet block as a goal. There was a strong wind blowing across the pitch and my mate had just hammered the ball  against the wall with the wind and it had gone miles. The ball was sat on the grass verge about 30-35 yards from goal more of less in line with the wall. I had to make the shot left footed to curl the ball into goal with hardly anything to aim at. A right foot shot would have had no chance.  Also I had to keep the ball really low so the wind couldn't get at it. My mate was already thinking he'd won when I drove the ball right into the middle of the wall !

I scored a few goals as a player that I can't recall but I still think about that shot when I pass the playground. You never see kids playing walley anymore.

    … or  "Wembley" ..

  3. Andy Holt (Stanley) making some very interesting points today regarding re starting /finances on his twitter feed ..quoting figures etc .

Whether to simply go into admin....finishing this season meaning unfurloughing staff yet no income what so ever coming in with games behind closed doors ...and more importantly for his club when will next season start for for income to start again ! Lots of things you don't think about . When you read the thread you can see why ..

poor old Sheriff Waggott of Ewood...

    the meat in the pie....

On one hand refunding £300K to Leeds fans.

On the other hand paying for 7700 pies he no longer has use for.

Not sure why I find that amusing but ripping Rovers fans off with fake taxes means you "reap what you sow".

I seriously hope that they ve not cooked and  bought 7700 pies three weeks in advance ..

The more I read the more surprised I am that it hasn't been canceled with more and more people testing positive in the sport (never mind spectators) those in the sport are a) being put at risk and b) it undermines the integrity of the competition. Then factor in that the crowds still count as a largeish gathering and you think that would want to be discouraged.

And before Chaddy quotes his best mate, the chief thingy acknowledged that cancelling events would lessen the strain on emergency services. To me, this seems like a rather handy thing to do in the circumstances regardless of its effects in slowing the virus.

    Completely agree.

Europe/Rest of World are banning all events and shutting down borders yet we re doing the complete opposite. Someones got it right and someones got it  wrong ..and unless we have information different to what the rest of the world have I cant for the life of me think why we ve not followed suit. When money orientated sport organisations are making decisions off their own bat to cancel events you have to think ..hang on ...

My wife and daughter both work in the NHS and to its credit both say that the hospitals are quite relaxed at the moment but put that down to the fact its their everyday work in dealing with  situations of life and death on a daily basis.

That would only be a true statement if we were in the playoff positions right now. It's Fulham, Forest, Brentford and Preston's to lose - and we need to be in a position to potentially gain from their slip ups.

Exactly ..five or six teams doing their best not to break into the top six .

one team will click ..hopefully us ..but the longer the opportunity is there the better.

You havent proven anything, youve stated your opinion. It certainly wasnt as clear cut as the decision against us which was a dive but I think we were lucky to get ours. I dont think I have ever seen you agree with a decision against us or disagree against one that has gone our way so if you want to view it from a position lacking neutrality then fair enough.

The throwing away of 23 points from winning positions will be a huge regret if we do miss out on the top 6.

How do we compare to other sides that went from winning positions ?..are we way out ?
