It is quite funny the impatience - I was reading the Shrewsbury board a few days ago and they were moaning that they their new manager had not made a single signing within his first week of being there. Three days later he signed two in a day and they all loved him.

Well know things move slowly in Venkyland - Ill start to worry in a week or two.

Think things will happen a little later with TM out at the World Cup for at least  ten days scouting ...

And if you believe that you ll believe anything ..☺️

I thought they looked all right against Germany other night. Played some nice stuff,  and knocked it about well.

    But wow, today was garbage.

Maybe I was fooled between friendly and competitive.  Personally,  reckoned today would be 0-0 or 1-1 draw.

With some fun gambling due to commence over the next month, good to see me laser accurate as per.

Im glad it wasnt only me Silas ..i had Saudis to beat Russia ..my betting fund will be empty in a weeks time !

Because he’s well passed it. I honestly think it’s a waste of our wage budget, especially with how tight it is.

This has got to be one of the quietest summers that’s I can remember- I’ve given up checking the Blackburn Rovers News Now sight- it just feels like it’s the same few players being linked.

Although I’m not worried yet, without a few fresh faces, next season will be a battle again. One wonders what a signing might have done for season ticket figures too...

We didnt make our first signing last summer til mid June..time yet .As for a signing influencing Season ticket sales ..i dont really think so!

.As an example, It might imply that all the good news from India was fake news...thatTM has not been given what he requested....that he is having to make do...that he is having to use money that might have bought a younger, better quality winger to strengthen another position...therefore ..new contract for Craig...

...or we ve actual got money to spend ..(can afford giving Conway a new probably reduced one year deal)....a sudden influx of young players going to be added the squad ..an old disciplined head required to integrate the new players into the Blackburn Rovers way of thinking... show them squad etiquette of a winning disciplined happy squad to hopefully  continue where we left off last season.? This is how we do it lads ..

    Continuity ?

“I know that Craig looks after all the discipline side of things within the dressing room for myself and the staff.

“I don’t live in their dressing room so if someone is five minutes late and I’m on the phone, Craig manages that and makes sure that the dressing room is managed properly, professionally and efficiently. His personality allows him to do that.”

And that says it all !

  6. Going off TMs comments about recruiting young up and coming talent into the squad ,keeping someone like Conway may not be a bad thing. He seems like a good professional, never seem to hear anything untoward regarding his life outside football and has Championship experience to pass down to the (hopefully) new young recruits that TM is aiming for .

TM made it clear to Payne that he will be a bit part player at the club and im sure Conway will have been told the same and any new contract will be influenced by that fact. Im sure it will be a "Sorry Craig ..you aint gonna get much playing time but your presence here  could be influential to the young squad so we re only offering you so much ..take it or leave it ".

Really cant see Conway getting a more substantial deal if not probably a reduced deal ..the Club hold the cards not Conway.

I thiught the exact same when I looked at the Derby and Fulham teams yesterday

Yep ..and the subs too...some very  strong squads in this league  ..OUR league  (sounds better !).

Albeit Play off teams ..the championship is going to be a severe test

Eh? That first paragraph makes no sense.

Second one. Great idea. What are YOU going to suggest to make that more likely?

    And it’s ‘you’re’.

Free bar one hour before kick off Stuart...drop YOUR inhibitions then and you can join in.

As for the unreserved seating for eight back rows   in the BBE i think it  would  cause more aggro than its worth.People get very precious over THEIR seat.

  9. 16 hours ago, Stuart said:

If you think about it, they don’t have to move.

Just get there early enough to claim a seat.

If your going to do that then you may as well make the whole ground unreserved seating.....like away games which if i remember rightly many on here complained about not getting their allocated away seat ..so think that wont work somehow!

Better idea would be if people all over the ground put a bit more effort in and became more vocal as one .

Strange quote in the LET from Mowbray regarding Payne. Unless I've read it wrong, Mowbray is only interested in signing him if he accepts he will be a substitute most weeks. If he has ambitions to start and become a focal point hes not interested.....Managers usually want the latter.

“My selections have shown that I haven’t seen him as a 90 minute footballer, the challenge for Jack is whether he can accept that or whether he’s a lad who wants to play, be in the team, be the main man and let him make things happen.

“If that’s what he’s thinking and demanding then this is probably not the place for him but we can have that discussion and I’ll discuss that with him and see where we go.”

Mowbray obviously thinking Dack will be here next season and will start .

  11. After the success of the £10 ticket policy for the Oxford game built in with a very successful season we re going to see possibly 24000 plus actual Rovers fans on the ground .

Hypothetically how well would a radical reduction in prices work for season tickets on the basis you attract more customers work ?

Would there be enough takers ?

    My idea being say ..

Season tickets slashed to an average of £250 ...with say a take up of what 17000 or possibly more ? supporters buying generating £ 4,250,000,with reduced walk on prices thrown in

against now an average ? of £375 with say 12000 supporters buying generating £4,500,000.

Would the fanbase actually take advantage or is it even be there to cover the cost lost by reducing season ticket prices ? throw in extra revenue from food sales etc .The Oxford game seems to say yes.

Again just hypothetical but plausible ?

Worryingly, the signing that we’ve usually been “excited” about have been the worst and the ones we’ve “meh” about have been the better ones.

Jordan Rhodes and Danny Graham being the obvious exceptions.

Im more excited that TMs already on the move and seemingly being allowed to strengthen the squad already. Hopefully bodes well for future signings !

Noises out of the Disabled Supporters do that TM is going hell for leather to bring in Chapman.

Harry is going to have a lot to prove ..coming back after  another injury and stepping up to the Championship ..not nailed on as being a success.

Two major injuries at Rovers plus four months out at Sheff Utd ..hes due a change in luck .. i hope .
