  1. charlton are more than likely going to play dennis rommedahl(sp) on the right wing against us on saturday as pace against our defence usually causes us problems. if matteo played left back, dennis R for short could knock the ball ten yards past him, sit down and have a cup of tea and a fag, quick chat with the mrs and still get up and out pace matteo to the ball. i've seen milk turn quicker that matteo, he hasn't played in how many months and isn't match fit thank god and the fact is, matteo is crap and thankfully looks as though he is getting the boot this summer. gray isn't the quickest, we seen that against spuds when lennon flew past him but he has been part of the side all season and is a much beeter option that matteo. gresko i think is half decent, awsome when he was first here on loan but since he signed on a permanent deal he lost it and has struggled with injuries, certainly this season, i think he is still out now?
  2. well done to arsenal for getting to the final, 9 clean sheets in a row is a class record to have achieved. great to see an english team in the final even though it's a contenental 11!!! wenger has worked wonders. everyone seems to think barcelona are in the final already, they still have to see off milan tonight which i think won't be that easy, people seem to have milan doomed without a ball being kicked.
  3. with wigan losing lastnight that should be them burried and left out of reach of us. neimi played well, wigan must be upset at not getting anything though. fulhams home record is incredible considering where they are in the league, a tough team to beat at the cottage all season.
  4. yeah a impact and improvement team. you have to say the impact bellamy has had on us this season has been immense. like hughsey said if we had dickov upfront instead where would we be?
  5. if ronnie o'sullivan sticks to his game then theres your winner. higgins, hendry, white, davis, parrott, all out in the first round. looking at the other contenders i don't think there is much hope, williams looks back to something like his best and stevens and doherty are battling it out between themselves. o'sullivan will play williams in the 1/4 finals if he wins, so i think the winner of that match will go on to win the championship.
  6. fairplay he has picked up quite a few bookings for an attacking player, i didn't think he was a dirty player or am i bringing to much into this?
  7. fairplay berg has made a good start to his managerial career, playing under a few managers with very different characters should help him on his way. wish him all the best.
  8. gally and bellamy can hopefully work on a few things in training, i don't think they have played up front together before but i would certainly pair the 2 of them up front against the addicks and hope they gel quicker than shock waves!!!
  9. i am well pleased i read the other day that tugay is fit again and raring to go, we have missed him so much in the recent games and i hope hughes puts him straight back into the starting 11 against charlton. i dunno if the 4-1 defeat is a good or a bad thing, charlton are a team playing for nothing and their players mentally dunno weather curbs will be there much longer. if we get the first goal, their heads will drop and with 2 victories already notched up against them this season, the 3 points will be in the bag
  10. imo reid is not player of the season but the most improved player this season. fairplay to the guy he has worked hard at his game and has been asked by hughes to play in a variety of positions which to my knowledge, he hasn't complained once, where with other player mentalities, they could have lost their rag quite easily. if reid keeps his head and keeps working hard he will be a valuable asset for us.
  11. i dunno if people realise but it is still possible for us to qualify for the champions league. if arsenal and spuds draw on saturday they are 8 points clear and then if they both lose all of their remaining league and champs league fixtures and we win all of our remaining games then we will take 4th i wonder what the odds on that are??? keep the faith
  12. i'll agree with that though lucas neill likes to power forward and take a few people on but due to his defensive responsabilities he can't do it too often. our midfield wide players are not wingers imo, pedersen isn't the quickest and won't skin someone down the line like say a duff, and whoever plays or the right i.e bentley/reid prefer to play in the centre and emerton on his day is top drawer but his day doesn't come round too often.
  13. he said he's having a few years off football, probably to improve his handicap and just relax. he said he would like to have a go at management, maybe in a few years when s.a.f retires and hughes takes over at the manks, shearer could be in charge of rovers? well it's possability
  14. the lads need another trip to dubai after that little bonding session we were on a roll i wouldn't say we were burnt out, i'd just say the players are feeling hard done by as the liverpool goal was a dissgrace and ruined everything. hopefully the break will sort their heads out and recharge the batteries.
  15. well cool preview joey heiridarrson(sp) i beleve will be serving a 3 game ban for violent conduct against fulham so he will be unavailable for the game which is a bonus. last away game of the season, the day after pay day for me too, party time
  16. quality photos buddy i thought some of the little headings were classic
  17. one point about lastnight was that we the fans were so up for the game and the players didn't look at all interested. i dunno what is going on with todd in and out of the side, pongo missing a weird looking back 4, i think maybe the stuffing had has been knocked out of us by losing to liverpool and they just wern't up for the fight lastnight and in the rain too
  18. i can't beleve we lost to big club, when savage scored i thought the brum nerves would kick in and we would batter them till the end and hopefully get the winner but (Please don't use that word again) what a nightmare!!! we were useless first half, bentley was shooting from 50 yards and half our players were still getting changed in the dressing rooms, we wern't up for it at all. 2nd half if zurabs header went in it would of been a different story but hitting the post changed the game coz they went up the other end and scored and any hope of champions league blew up!!! i don't understand why lucas neil was at left back, fairplay pennant was a threat and neill was there to do the job but our defense was awful all night. where was pongo?? bellamy was always out wide and bentley was dropping too deep, when kuqi came on we looked better again!!! savage scoring was awsome, bruces face was a picture and a half, i really fancied us then to go on and win it, bellamy should of scored that chance, he should drilled it hard and low of the wet turf, couldn't beleve he didn't score!! anyway we got 9-10 days before we go to the valley, heriadeson(sp for sure) is banned for 3 games so thats a bonus, we got a long time to sort this out so it's not panic stations just yet though i had bad guts since the final whistle lastnight, well guted
  19. on the official site hughes said that he would be making changes and has taken a big squad to the big club i think he may go with friedel neill zurab nelsen gray emerton reid savage pedersen bellamy pongo subs: enks, kuqi, bentley, axe, peter dickov has to be dropped, he's been @#/? in in last few games and looking at reports pongo looks like he is going to start though i wouldn't be suprised if kuqi or bentley got a starting role up front. due to tugays injury wihich is a big blow and well bad news for us, hughes will stick to the reid/savage centre, pedersen on the left and i think emerton will get a start on the right as neill and brett, the 2 ausies link up well and hopefully emerton will be fresh and raring to go. i cant see no changes in defence though todd may come in for zurab though it is very unlikely as he played well with nelsen vs the scousers. i'm dunno bout the score, rovers will win though and savage will score in front of the rovers fans army to send us crazy!!!
  20. the bet is as good as over, pompey will take a good following to wigan but with chelski and city to come at home for the rovers, gav is the easy winner. if we beat big club and the addicks away then the last 2 home games could be full house sell outs imo
  21. i beleve it's football first highlights on sky sports, 3rd best thing if you can't go to the match or it not live on the box, it's usually a good 30-45 mins of action.
  22. looking at the results so far bellamy looks a clear winner and nobody is going to catch him now. 4 players have not recieved any votes at all. zurab: maybe because he has been battling with todd all season for his place and nelsen has just been a legend in the central of defence, so folk have gone for nelsen. fairplay to zurab though, first season in the prem he has been awsome for us and deserved his permanent contract. gray: very poor some games though he has been a regular in a defence that is top 6 in the prem, he is a team player and is the best thing we got in the left back position due to vrati being injured and matteo being @#/?. neil the football hooligan has been immense at the other full back slot and has been noticed with alot of votes. dickov: moaned, moaned and moaned a bit more. would moan if he sen this poll too awful season though he has chipped in a few goals but not as many as we need. one for the door this summer. kuqi: very suprised he hasn't got at least 1 vote. scored some vital goals this season though his all round game isn't supreme, his celebration is class.
  23. i fancy a 1-1 draw at the library tonight, the last european game to be played there too.
  24. yeah you were right Atomicrover, bent did score. i found this link for a match report 14/03/2001 when we won 2-0 at st. andrews and guess who the ref was that day? http://uk.wrs.yahoo.com/_ylt=A9iby4rXC0ZEy...rs-H-140301.htm
