I understand he’s not everyone’s choice, he doesn’t last long at most clubs, he has some blips on his record but I’m willing to back him, he has a 49% win ratio, he has taken Barnsley to the playoffs, better record than Eustace overall.. a balls not been kicked yet, he has a week with the players now (if he’s announced tomorrow) and 12 games to keep us in the top 6. No idea if it will work out, plenty of twists and turns still to come this season but if he can get us into the playoffs it will have been a successful appointment, no point looking past this season just now. 12 big games to go! Let’s see how we go.

Everyone relieved it’s not going to be Karanka.. we’ve just now got to hope it’s not Boa Morte and Boateng too 🙏😂 No O’Neill.. he was a favourite of mine so not sure who else I want now.. Hoping there’s some movement over the weekend on this so they can have a full week with the players before Norwich.
-
Interestingly, as far as I can see, the only journalist to rule out O’Neil is Alex Crook.. Nixon and Jackson have not officially ruled him out I don’t think.. just hoping there’s still a chance and they’re still trying to persuade him.. genuinely hoping for a surprise in all of this.. big big appointment.

Definitely not my first choice by any means but I really could get behind Ismael. A few blips in his record but most managers do, experience in the EFL, managed decent clubs.. worked with Watfords owners so hasn’t had it easy so at least he’d be semi prepared coming in here. Compared to many of the underwhelming names that’s been floating around lately, he’s certainly a much better option and an overall win % of 49% isn’t bad at all. Still hoping for a surprise name that we’d all be happy with but Ismael, I could get behind.

Sky Bet odds back on currently..

Any chance the Lancashire Telegraph are going to do a story of names in the mix, literally nothing coming from them.. if it’s Boateng, I’m seriously fed up with it!
-
Interestingly Nixon has said a few times that Boateng is only an option as a number 2, not head coach.. not sure why a club would be sounding out number twos rather than getting there head coach sorted first.. My other thought was maybe they’re hoping for O’Neil with Boateng as his number 2 as they were at Boro for a year or so together back in there playing days.. maybe Boateng is cheaper than who O’Neil may want to bring with him.. either way I’d be wanting Lowe to remain as first team coach, clearly has the respect of everyone at the club. If Gerrard is of interest, they may need to act fast as many Rangers fans are hoping for him back and they’re currently drawing against Hearts who are the better team, so Clements days are surely numbered. Either way, I hope we see some movement this week, none of the names are particularly exciting, we just need a steady name that won’t change much just yet.. If there’s anything in Boateng, Boa Morte and Wellens, underwhelmed would be an understatement, anger would be the better way of describing how I’d feel.. Hoping for a decent appointment, has to be right!

Eustace…he gone…*official*

Probably a terrible take and feel free to let me have it, in no way am I defending the board or the owners, can’t stand them and I’m dreaming of a day they’re no longer here but.. my underlying feeling is that of disappointment if he decides to go Derby, which looks all but done, for the last 6 months he’s called for togetherness and this injury hit squad has run through brick walls for him and the fans.. just a little kick in the face really. Clearly he’s been let down, as have the players and fans but I thought he’d see the season out with us. Depressing day! Despite the chaos behind the scenes it’s certainly an appealing job until at least the end of the season, a chance of taking us to the play-offs won’t be looked down on.. players coming back from injury too.. Just hope they have a contingency plan of some decent names and not another Kean/Berg disaster. Oh well, another day supporting this club. Happy one year anniversary John! I’ll give him a good send off today, deserves it! -

The worry for me is, EVEN if a striker is coming in, the closer we get to the deadline, I'll be worrying it's not all gone through correctly. I'd only be sure if they were involved on Sunday. Same applies to the left back. What a depressing day/month. -

Eustace's press conference at midday, be interesting to see what he says on incomings. The realism of managing under this inept ownership has probably now well and truly sunk in, if not already. If there is no chance whatsoever of a striker or two, I hope he confirms as much so I can get on with my day and give up any glimmer of hope I may of had this morning. Venky's Out! -

If O’Brien is still the midfield target and if I was him, I’d be giving the club until Sunday night to get it all done, no chance would I be going into deadline day with a move in the hands of this useless bunch.. I’d be a huge fan of the signing though if it turned out to be him, he’d deserve a massive welcome too after the nightmare of two years ago.. -

Exactly, Ohashi back and no loan for Leonard would make sense with two new wingers. I also doubt both will be permanent, maybe Kargbo Perm and Cissoko Loan? Who knows, all a bit of a panic. -

I could be completely wrong but if the two that 'are close' to coming in are both wingers, that could mean they won't be bringing in a striker which I feel would be a big big mistake. The media and club have heaped lots of praise of Gueye this week and rightly so after the last few performances but I would have put down a striker as being our number one priority this window, proven at this level too was important. Maybe the thinking is, get more pace on the wings and crosses will fall to Gueye so why bother buying another striker? I hope I'm wrong. Kargbo can play centrally but I would have preferred an out and out striker. HOPING to be pleasantly surprised before Monday night. EXPECTING not to be. -

Eustace’s pre-match presser tomorrow.. When asked, he’ll most likely repeat the weekly “nothings close that he’s aware of” or he’s “still hopeful of 2 or 3 quality players”, time is running out.. shambolic window. Manager frustrated and fans fuming! Things could get a whole lot worse come 11:01pm on Monday night. -

Blackburn Rovers hope to make a breakthrough in their pursuit of further additions to the squad this week, The Lancashire Telegraph understands. *There's the word hope again... that's literally all we can do these days with these owners and this board* Therefore, all of the fan scrutiny has been directed to the board, with Eustace and the players retaining supporters' full backing. The familiar feeling of a head coach struggling without support in the transfer window has threatened to bubble over. *Despite recent results, Eustace is one of the only things to be proud of currently, he will go on to bigger and better things, backed or not, he will see this board for what it is, come the summer when jobs become available, he will be off.. Will be a big loss* The Rovers board are understood to be acutely aware of the current fan feeling and sentiment. The club remain confident of adding to Eustace's squad with several players before Monday's 11pm Deadline *several players - I'll believe it when I see it.. no mention of quality either, so most likely several youngsters or has beens on loan/free* Rovers would like to have one or two fresh faces signed before Friday's Lancashire derby against Preston North End. It is clear that the whole club would benefit from a boost and injection of positivity and the club want to provide ahead of the Ewood Park clash. *would like - I'd like a million pounds, probably not happening anytime soon though* Talks with possible targets are ongoing, though there is a concentrated effort for their activity to remain quiet; keeping their cards close to their chest. *AKA - F**k all actually happening* It's understood that Rovers, like most of the Championship, were interested in the Aston Villa star. He was set to join Middlesbrough until a last-minute pivot and instead, he will spend the rest of this term in East Yorkshire. *Booo.... would of loved Louie Barry here, something different and will go far* https://www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/sport/24891249.kargbo-transfer-latest-blackburns-january-window-plans/ I'd love to be pleasantly surprised in the next few days but I've absolutely no faith or confidence in this board or ownership! -

If Kargbo is as close to being done as some people are suggesting, it’ll be interesting to see if he’s involved in the Cesena squad for their game today at 2.. His last goal in all competitions was on the 20th October in a 5-3 defeat to Sampdoria after coming on as a 60th minute substitute, he was then yellow carded at 90 minutes and sent off at 91 minutes.. He’ll fit right in here.. 🤐 -

Sorry for the long post, It’s just all very depressing and sad really. At the start of the window, I was stupid to think we might just maybe have a little go, just 2 or 3 million on 2 or 3 pieces of quality to push us on and maybe just a shot of the play-offs come May. Links to Bamford, Thomas-Asante, Kent and Schlupp were just ok, rather uninspiring and pretty poor, none would really push us on. But now, after that shambles of a statement yesterday, a couple of these types of players would actually be useful, they’d be much needed bodies that we are desperately in need of. That’s how low my bar has been set, the new links aren’t much better really, no championship experience which the manager was adamant he needed and wanted. Just well and truly depressing. The statement hasn’t actually helped anything, it’s made it much harder to see where this all goes, I read it yesterday and thought maybe a few coming in then, I read it again today and thought nothings happening now, just a complicated mess. As soon as Eustace gets any sort of offer elsewhere, he’ll be off and who could blame him, him and the players are the only positives in this whole mess. This ownership continues to underwhelm and disgust us all, the sooner they realise and sell up, the better. Venky’s, Waggott, Suhail and Rudy, all to blame for this disaster show. Wish they’d all just do one, it’s like a recurring nightmare you can’t wake up from.. After all that, we’re still 6th (until tomorrow at least).. I’m clinging onto the fact that there’s just over a week to go, who knows.. All very very sad really. -

After 18 consecutive seasons as a season ticket holder, I will not be renewing, things have to change and I know I won’t be the only one. It’s all very sad and until he’s gone there’s no light at all. We’d be extremely lucky if we have 5000 in the ground next season.. wouldn’t be surprised if one or two teams end up with more fans in our own ground than us. Embarrassing from top to bottom. He has to go or I for one will not give a penny more. -
