I’ve been advocating 5-3-2 for a long time and believe it could / should suit what we have now got as a squad. Would be great to avoid defeat, just a pity Cantwell is missing as the formation could be good for him too. If Ohashi and Gudjhonsen can’t hack it as a 2 we may as well give up. Slightly more optimistic and we need to remember we’re playing another basic championship team that wouldn’t last 5 minutes in the premier league. They are all winnable with the right mindset, organisation and commitment. Let’s see what we’ve got.

imagine the shame… a bloke daring to celebrate his 50th birthday and still bothering to put a training session on afterwards. Truly the darkest day in professional sport...
Id like to think most fans do not think it’s acceptable that a crucial training session before a huge game, and after an embarrassing performance, is arranged around the managers birthday celebrations.

I have been told that the first team didn't train until 15.30 yesterday which is almost unheard of particularly the day before a game.
The reason I am told is because Ismael flew to France immediately after the game at Charlton and didn't return until yesterday afternoon. This was to celebrate his 50th birthday.
If it is true I find it extremely surprising that he is allowed to change the routine so markedly so he can have a birthday bash.
That is unbelievably shocking. A truly committed manager would never have booked that trip in the first place, and even if he had, would have cancelled after that disgraceful performance on Saturday to work on what went wrong. What sort of example does it also give to the players……… ‘ ah well that was abysmal, not to worry, got to shoot off now. See you Monday afternoon and we can have a chat about the next game then. What, it’s on Tuesday? plenty of time’

Thanks Glen. Apologies I must have totally missed these somehow. Great that this has been done.

I think the behaviour of Rovers through Pasha and Gestede is totally indefensible.
How any supporter can even remotely try to defend Rovers, Pasha and Gestede is, IMO, staggeringly beyond the pale.
IMO, as a club, we are now morally bankrupt. I think Uncle Jack's legacy is in tatters.
Agree with this 100% Mercer.
In light of this I am wondering why the Coalition hasn’t taken the opportunity as representatives of the supporter base, to issue its own statement giving their view, of the clubs actions, and their wholehearted support of the Lancashire Telegraph?
Along with the pitch fiasco vs Ipswich is it not a great opportunity to express our views and highlight to the wider fanbase the damage that Venkys are doing to the club on an ongoing basis? This is not a criticism of the Coalition but a genuine question as to why we / the Coalition are not using these types of situations to put the boot right into Venkys and their stooges?

Is the post match survey only for season ticket holders ?
Not sure Rigger. I’m a STH but never seen it prior to this season. Thought it must have been some new initiative. Though based on my 2 responses so far I’ll probably not receive it again!

I am a ST holder and have been for many many years. I have never seen this survey…..I wonder why🤔
I’ve had the survey after the last 2 home games Mike and am a season ticket holder. I had assumed that it must be going out to all season ticket holders, or even every attendee?
-
I know it won’t make much difference as such but I would encourage everyone to complete the ‘We Want to Hear From You’ post match survey that is sent out following each home game.
It gives the opportunity to score out of 10 the experience such as food and drink / stewards / access / facilities etc. More importantly there is also a comments section where they ask your opinion on what can be done to improve things.
If virtually everyone makes their feelings about the cancer that is Venkys and their stooges abundantly clear it can’t do any harm.As I say I know it won’t make any material difference, but feel it is an opportunity for everyone to make their feelings known once a fortnight, or at least until they remove the comments section, and it is better to do so than not.

The scumbags chanting for Tommy Robinson would probably disagree
No one actually cares. You could always start a counter chant for kier starmer if it bothers you so much. They can chant for whoever they wish. What about the days of ‘oh Jeremy Corbyn etc’
Either way its very tiresome

Congratulations to Adam. I’m sure he didn’t go up for the trophy though? Never saw him once after final whistle?

Does anyone know if this extension includes the ‘claim your own seat’ period?
Or will those existing ST seats that haven’t been renewed, now available?
Reason I’m asking is that I am not prepared to pay any more in JW Upper and will be moving to the Riverside. I’ve already heard of several others doing the same. -

Renewing now. The thought of giving Waggot, Pasha and Venky's any money at all makes me ill but at least they'll be getting less from me than recent seasons as I'm changing seats - this means a new season ticket card. So there are three options:
- Digital season ticket (no extra fee)
- Collect physical season ticket (£20 extra)
- Post new season card (£22.50 extra)
What in god's name are they smoking down there?
I too was stunned when I initially selected the physical season ticket card, (as opposed to the digital option). The postage fee went to £22.50, so I thought ok I’ll go and collect it then at no cost, only to see an additional cost of £20! Naturally I have now gone for the Digital option, but this would be very harsh and unfair on a much older non tech minded oap. Not a good way to treat your more elderly customers.

You have to ask what the hell is Gestede doing? Surely this is one of his key responsibilities, to retain our best / key players, and then to keep adding to these and improve the squad over time. If he’s not on top of this, why is he even at the club?

Don't see how you can play both Cantwell and ACD in a midweek away match against a tough opponent. If you are going to play Cantwell you'd need someone like Dolan / Hedges / JRC alongside. I accept the fact that all 3 of those aren't good enough but in our position they at least provide some physical presence and /or workrate.
Don’t see how you could play either of them. Both been a liability of late.

It takes a real fool to mess it up - and yet we have done for years under Venkys.
If the halves on the back are finally reversed then fair play to them - it's really not that hard.
Exactly, I’ve been saying the same for years. I can’t believe we don’t use our iconic halved kit as our usp branding. Any kit we play in, home / away / third kit/ training etc should always be halved. We’re missing a huge opportunity and every kit could look amazing and be instantly recognised as Rovers.

A camera shot of Rovers bench just showed Ennis tapping on his phone 😡
Surely that can't be right......I don't believe it. Someone tell me its a joke...no club would allow a player to have a phone on the bench.

This argument about training is nonsense. Where it matters in games, Pears has made 5 errors leading to goals in the last 6 games or so. Tomasson also picked Pears over a goalkeeper we saw in games was a lot better. Pears continuing in goal does not make it the right decision by Tomasson.
If Tomasson was happy with Pears why did we spend 800k on a sub?
It isn't just training though. Wahlstedt will have had a number of games including u23, cup and behind closed doors. The point is, unfortunately, based on these, the management and coaching staff, have deemed him not yet ready to take over from Pears. The fact that he isn't is obviously not great news, but hopefully medium/ longer term he'll prove a good signing.

My view is that the team need supporting to the hilt while the game is going on. Anything that detracts from this doesn’t help the players at all.
The Blackburn End will, as usual be 100% behind the team. I think in this instance you would find the team 100% behind the supporters.

A (for the future) midfield of Garrett, Wharton, Buckley
I'd play with that right now. Morton and Travis on bench. That is our future midfield as thing stand, and I'd have all 3 of them ahead of Morton.

I'd prefer a Bradley Johnson of a few years ago type sat in the middle than the Liverpool kid every day of the week.
I know he has some qualities but not enough contribution to start every game imo it's more about what he might do than what he actually does. 2 in 3 games he goes completely missing he's just too lightweight and wastes most set pieces he takes, we wouldn't end up camping in our own box against bottom of league at home if we actually had some solidity in the middle.
Such naive stuff it boils the blood.
I still can't fathom how Morton plays every single game and gets a free pass for contributing so little. 1 assist and no goals in 20 league games I think......Happy to be corrected if wrong. Not a patch on Harvet Elliot and far close to Leighton Clarkson. I'd chose Adam Wharton ahead of him based on what I've seen to date.

Good to see those highlights with positive play, forward passing and chances being created. A marked contrast to the negative anti football in recent away games.

No way Szmodics should walk straight back in ahead of Dack. Morton hasn't earned his spot more than Wharton either.
Agree. Morton and Smodics should be benched until they start making a positive contribution. Adam Wharton has done more in a couple of games than the pair of them combined.
