  1. Must be rather awkward when they chant "Jack Walker is dead".
  2. Anyone on here have their cars stolen? I've said before too much paranoia comes with owning an expensive car. https://www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/news/18068575.fans-shock-cars-stolen-match/
  3. The one he refused to take for Sheffield W in play off semi final. Even worse considering it was against another former club Huddersfield.
  4. Must have missed the part where he almost got the club promoted. Whether you think he's limited or not refusing to take that penalty was one of the most gutless things I've seen.
  5. I'm sure they appreciate you publicly revealing that and taking their money despite anticipating failure.
  6. What he said about Justin Roberts annoyed some people more than the other stuff. He also said people were reacting like he had been murdering babies which is kinda how he treats Vince Russo. I don't like wrestling that's watered down personally. While I don't care for certain styles as much as others at least it isn't watered down. I guess you could say kicking out of multiple finishers waters the product down but that's become an issue practically everywhere. If they are gonna start putting women in cages (they intend to bring in "better" talent according to Omega) it's gonna be even more of a problem. Can't see women bleeding all over the place even if it's fake bloof. Hardcore wrestling can be somewhat watered down when there's too much (liked the Omega/Moxley match but sometimes felt like violence for sake of violence and I didn't buy into Omega's sadism act) but don't do matches that were built on violence like HIAC and deliver watered down rubbish which is what WWE does. Women being pushed again is a problem there because treating them the same as men waters down the hardcore aspects.
  7. That's an awful idea. Why would you want it to look like a typical public house? People can find those anywhere besides the many that have gone out of business. It should have a sports bar theme being part of a sports stadium. As for the name how about something creative? That's unlikely though this is the club that chose Rover the Dog in a mascot competition. Why even bother?
  8. When Rick Rude appeared on Nitro and Raw (on same night) they couldn't edit him off because DX were out there too. So I wouldn't say it's a difficult position more like an impossible position. Now if Chris Benoit had taped stuff (Raw started going live every week in 1999 with the obvious exceptions like UK tapings) that were aired a week later that would have been edited out no matter how important to the show. That's the exception. Fried chicken is a stereotype for black people in the US but it's possible that's the first thing he thought of. I wouldn't be surprised if he likes fried chicken himself. He's been accused of racism before though so you can see why many won't give him benefit of the doubt. The Ethiopian starvation joke was obviously intended as exactly that and it's one he had told before.
  9. They make their real money from ads as do the majority of newspapers. Local papers of course will have to be dependent on internet ads even more.
  10. Well that was months before he was sacked. The previous owners wouldn't sanction a paltry fee.
  11. As if he cared. The day he was fired he was planning on going to Old Trafford as Ferguson's guest or whatever. He didn't mind showing his face after his team were thrashed there weeks earlier but different story when he was sacked.
  12. Contrast to 1997 after that 4-0 defeat where players argued with Hodgson. We know Givet's an idiot already and Dunn never scored against Man United so he wouldn't have bothered. Jones didn't care (as evidenced by later comments about the 3-2 game) but the rest are a disgrace too particularly to Jack Walker and the younger fans. Must have really helped Kean/Anderson a lot and why didn't Saint John and Finn notice this? The players should be investigated for match fixing.
  13. Yeah when he's not busy as Rovers president doing pretty well for himself.
  14. Absolutely. At least he started off well at Ewood but think I recall you citing the 4-0 loss at Old Trafford as a turning point in relationship with the players. Yes I know following season ended in relegation but more down to a freak injury list, bad/nonperforming signings (some by Hodgson admittedly) and Kidd.
  15. Roy Hodgson press conference in 1997 with Coar, Williams and some weaselly looking guy.
  16. Didn't really care about Survivor Series. Strange choice of match to end the show. Austin/Undertaker interview interested me far more.
  17. Well people better hope AEW don't use them in such matches. You can guarantee that's when they will be watered down as women won't be blading themselves. Or even using fake blood.
  18. Well at least they followed his blueprint to some extent. Unlike someone else's kids who's motto is "take care of myself and only myself".
  19. Fans in their early-mid 20's now won't even know what that's like.
  20. Can't believe I didn't say this years ago. It's such a great point with unlimited logic there's really no comeback to it.
  21. ...but JH they were not supporters and they didn't care about football. That's the usual excuse from certain people isn't it? So let's say Jack had left a trust fund for scientific research of rare diseases. Would people say "oh well they don't have that disease themselves. They probably won't get it either so why would they care about it?". Would they give in to every whim of a greedy family there as well (and still have legal action taken against them) or is it just football clubs where trustees can make up rules as they go along?
