  1. Just saw someone refer to Mugabe's regime as a "dynasty of incompetence". Difference is he probably knew what he was doing.
  2. It was a disgrace. Why? Because I say so. If that's an arrogant, unshakeable belief then so be it.
  3. Guarantee she hasn't though she certainly knows my opinion of them. Bit of a stupid time to have a home Academy game with first team playing on same day. Unless they just do it when first team playing at Ewood or somewhere fairly local.
  4. Almost HT with scum leading 1-0. Can't comment on what's happened as streams are too aggravating especially with my Mum being here droning on about sofas.
  5. Forgot to mention in advance but Rovers playing Man United at Brockhall this morning. Its on some channel I won't mention but sure you can find alternative ways.
  6. Might be less chance of him being mysteriously "injured" now just as the World Cup is coming up...
  7. Maybe you're right but what they are supposed to do kiss their ass in meantime?
  8. Its obviously Belokon who's primarily responsible for this. Imagine that the evil foreigner overcoming those great British owners? Not saying the fans shouldn't have protested. Protests if nothing else are a way of releasing pent up anger. In this instance the Oystons were so brazen about causing offence they seemed to actually enjoy the protests. I can only imagine this decision to put the club up for sale is because its an asset that's considered as easier to offload than others. Presumably much of their fortune is tied up in assets as 31 million is obviously a hit for them. I thought they had a fortune that was considerably greater than that but there's a difference between being "cash rich" and "asset rich". Protests sometimes work but it depends who you're dealing with. Venkys are stubborn though they haven't been as brazen as the Oystons when it comes to insulting fans. If Venkys choose to sell it will almost certainly be their own decision unless we uncover something so underhand it forces a sale. That's the harsh reality as much as we want to see them pay for what they have done.
  9. https://www.theguardian.com/football/2017/nov/10/referee-ben-toner-dropped-backpool-oystons
  10. He failed at Wigan so we know that probably would have happened here as well. Yeah I do believe Coyle coming cheaper was a big part of it. Nixon outright said he offered to do it for less than others and it was a big factor.
  11. Even if some connection helped Coyle get the job (and I don't believe that was Anderson) that was the only help he got. He didn't exactly have a ton of support and you can argue that Magoo has had more. It didn't stop Coyle from being fired either. I've heard about Sheron certainly but as with most other things there's conflicting stories. One I've heard being that he left SEM because of Anderson some years beforehand and Coyle only ever met Anderson once at Bolton or someplace for 2 minutes years ago. I still don't know why Coyle said he didn't know SEM and find it hard to believe he didn't know which agency Sheron previously worked with. I think it was a small lie at most but there wasn't really much to read into it to begin with.
  12. Yeah well my view is he was better than Redfearn or Slade. I felt the same way about Magoo that there could have been worse but his record was poor aside from one promotion. Just like Coyle. I don't know why Coyle denied knowing SEM or whatever. Maybe he just lied about whatever tenuous link he previously had not anything major that still existed. There was a lawsuit. It wasn't played out in a very public fashion but it happened. Anderson was one of the people they felt provided bad advice. Rishi Sikka who made that Venkys doc and has spoken to Pasha before even said why would they like JA? Awful lot of effort also for a smokescreen and I just don't buy that theory. Bad advice as I said. Because Venkys are plain incompetent.
  13. Well others have said that Warnock wanted conditions such as working 2 days a week, etc. I don't know what he's doing at Cardiff City on a day to day basis but I can't imagine Tan allowing him to work part time. Aside from talk of Warnock though was there really a major 2nd option?Joyce and Slade were interviewed I'm sure but who else before Coyle left Houston?
  14. We have talked about this enough on twitter Tomphil. If Venkys didn't care about losses then why file that lawsuit against Kentaro, etc? Also what was the benefit of issues like the Berg payoff? The only one who benefited from that was Berg unless people claim he was in on some kind of deal with Anderson/Singh/Shaw? I don't need conspiracy after conspiracy piled on top of everything else. Anderson, Walkers, trustees (at the behest of the family mainly), Kean, Agnew, etc they were all in on it in my view. I don't believe any of them are in on it now though the Matthewmans still get a cut of blood money via Northchoke. Of course hardly anyone questions that though I note tomphil you certainly have. The FA certainly played their part as well namely their connections with Kentaro and lack of investigation into the whole setup. I don't know why Coyle got the job whether he had connections with someone who worked for Kentaro at one time or whatever. We know he shouldn't have got the job but really if it hadn't been him who else would have been good? I reckon it would have been Joyce, Slade or Redfearn and the latter 2 were certainly no better than Coyle. Of course Joyce ultimately took over at Wigan Athletic and failed. Most fans could have cared less about Coyle's so called connections with SEM and many probably didn't even know about it. It was about who he used to manage and that was why he got treated like he was Satan or something while Magoo was praised to the hilt initially despite having an awful record himself. Coyle came fairly cheap too from what I've been told in terms of salary, etc. I've got a horrible cold and its making my damn head hurt. So forgive me for the irritant tone.
  15. I don't think anyone really thinks its a "match made in heaven" though Thenodog said elsewhere he feels the Oystons are doing a good job () due to how they deal with agents, etc.
  16. Did anyone get round to purchasing shares in Venkys India or not?
  17. Aside from the shareholders in their core business of course (do the Oystons have shareholders in their other businesses could open them to more lawsuits?) and I think attempts were made to have them bring up Rovers (and their UK reputation which presumably is why Venkys Xprs UK was folded) at one of their AGMs. Problem is they have referred to the investment in Rovers as private family funds. Did anyone get round to purchasing shares? I'm sure there was talk of that and showing up at one of their AGMs. Of course there's been a lot of talk about going to Pune but it hasn't progressed beyond that.
  18. OK but assuming you're trying to compare to Venkys who has a case against them like Belokon? That's a rhetorical question. Not sure what the exact fortune of the Oystons is (cash rich and asset rich different things but even the latter) but what we do know is the club hadn't seen any of that money. Does it really change anything as far as the fans are concerned other than the risk that the Oystons may become even more spiteful? Not sure they would sell to Belokon either. Remember Venkys were involved in a lawsuit against Kentaro, etc so presumably that's gone as far as it will go and was more for their own benefit. None of the trustees should ever be allowed to act in that capacity again and those who took legal action against them only cared about their own selfish interests.Ironic too considering the obvious influence they had over them. Much like the Oystons really. I wanted Graham Jones to mention trustee law reforms in parliament but he was only really interested in the FA, fit and proper, etc.
  19. What is it with French players kicking fans? Evra may have been racially abused but he could have caused a riot. Imagine if Cantona kicked that guy at Millwall they probably would have burned the stadium down. Shame he didn't . Most people who are racially abused don't kick people he should have reported the alleged racism like a normal person. Marseille fans do have a racist reputation so I'm keeping an open mind on whether he's lying or not but its unacceptable.
  20. Depends if it was based on the first manager to be sacked or not. Of course at that point the season had already started so it would have been "next manager" and probably longer than EVS. As for a standalone bet I'm not sure what odds may have been given.
  21. It also comes from him being as dumb as a box of rocks. That's before I even get started on his other faults. He failed at Oldham which was so obvious I regret not placing a large bet on it. What else was I supposed to assume it was other than a coaching comparison? I'm sure the people emptying my bins have some teamwork qualities but what has it got to do with football management? Not taking a dig at Johnson who may well be a prospect. Everyone has to start somewhere after all and it wouldn't shock me if he was given the chance in the event of Mowbray being sacked. Please don't mention his coaching badges as vindication especially when "Steve" helped him along. Do you ever hear of anyone failing those courses because I don't. They sound like a kids thing at school where everyone gets a prize.
  22. Shouldn't be laughing really. What an unbelievable insult to Ray Harford that is. Nothing against Johnson but that's an extreme comparison.
