  1. Hmmm not knocking him because all I've seen of him is a few of his goal highlights. Just a little food for thought.... But on paper his record isn't much different to Gallagher's when he first joined us on loan, Gallagher also managed to score around 13 goals that season whilst here on loan in a team that was relegated (as Birmingham where with Stansfield last season I do appreciate they different types of forwards through (although I'm still trying to figure out what type of forward Gallagher was, other than pretty ineffectual in most areas)
  2. All this talk about Signing Stansfield for relatively big money when all I want to see come in is a solid reliable keeper. After that any other signings of any size are a bonus. Having a solid keeper is going to be the decider of whether we finish top half or bottom half in my wee opinion.
  3. Signing Iversen for between 1-2 mill should be a no brainer! good pedigree, Bags of championship experience, perfect age for a keeper when they're just reaching their peak years, big commanding keeper (won fans player of the year at preston) Why wouldn't you!
  4. obviously we have hindsight... but looking at that... knocking out right for brittain to run onto and looks the more obvious option, but brittain looks half a asleep as usual when it should have been him calling for the ball. although id have equally have been fine with him just lumping it up the pitch
  5. I'm not sure what caught your eye first there, but for me it wasn't Big Macs big smile, it was Duffys Mc nuggets.
  6. Tronstadt likely didn't see that he had a man on his back! where as Pears had full view of the pitch and should have simply used his own brain and decided against passing to him!!
  7. Pears is now in the Jake Kean phase.... average at best to begin with, now has zero confidence but we don't even have another senior keeper to replace him with...
  8. Good away result. further goal & assist from our two new forwards. bingo. But! just put the sky sports highlights on on you tube... first "highlight" pears unnecessarily passing the ball out to a defender whilst said defender was under pressure from two opposition players. luckily this time he was bailed out (by Tronstadt I think)
  9. Times like this in games that Szmodics was needed most. not sure any of this lot have the resilience to get back on the front foot and retake the lead
  10. Whilst I agree it's too early to fully judge them... I haven't seen anything too negative from them to make me 'doubt them' But yes as the squad stands it is nowhere near strong enough in depth (in most areas of the pitch)
  11. I just have this gut wrenching feeling/premonition that Ohashi is going to get badly injured once the oppo start really knocking him about to stop him playing or he'll break down due to the intensity of the game here ๐Ÿ˜ฉ Hope to fk I'm wrong ๐Ÿ™ ๐Ÿ™ ๐Ÿ™ ๐Ÿ™ ๐Ÿ™ because he looks a real star
  12. I agree, good squad player with the potential still to stake a claim for a regular starting spot with szmodics now gone, financially we've no reason to sell him on
  13. We need to sign Graham Fenton! I heard he's going to be the next Alan Shearer I'd also send a scout over to check out this lad Marek Citko. Heard he could be a proper good en. What year is it? Sorry I've had a couple.
  14. Ipswich is going to be a circus this year, then straight back down, from a footbaling point of view it would be a bad decision to go there, he'd be better sticking it out hete until a respectable club comes in or even better help uz get back to the promised land๐Ÿ˜…๐Ÿ˜… P. S. Seems Ipswich have now signed Kalvin Philips on loan for the season to. I betting even that loan deal cost twice what they've offered for Smzodics
  15. Yeh I'm not knocking gueye at all, i think he'll be great for us and like you say a proper old fasioned number centre forward Just thought it was silly to say he was better than Jason Roberts after only seeing jim play a couple of times against crap opposition
  16. Nobody's disagreed with you that he's better than sam gallagher(or fk8n "gally" as you weirdly keep calling him)
  17. Markanday just doesn't even look like he's physically built to be a footballer or any kind of athlete and he always seems miserable as fk and uncomfortable on a training field or football pitch
  18. I mean You've seen him play twice!๐Ÿ˜… Both times against poor teams. So how you can already say he's better than Roberts (a player that made around 200 Premier league appearances! Believe it or not) Roberts was far better than gallagher and his goalscoring record outside of the Premier league showed that
  19. He does seem very much like Jason Roberts ๐Ÿ˜… as in he has all the elements to be a top centre forward except the crucial natural ability to finish clinically even after doing the hard part of getting into a goalscoring position But that said! At this level even Jason Roberts was a consistent goalscorer so hopefully Gueye will be able yo get us 15+ if he stays fit and confident
  20. It's sort of forgotten that as well as being technically excellent, intelligent and skillful... Matt Jansen was also a tall lad and although he was a bit gangly when he arrived he did fill out and almost become more of a strong target man at times in his last year or 2 here. Proper player! P. S. The pop up ads on this forum really do make it very frustrating and tricky to browse and post on here at time ๐Ÿ˜–
  21. Would be a shame if Sigurdsson was allowed to leave so easily (and cheaply) he's proven he's a good effective squad player at the least, with the potential to be a very good playmaker if he was given a good run of games in his most natural position. Personally i think it's worth keeping him for the remainder of his contract at least and if he was sold to a league rival I'm certain hed flourish for them and be worth a good few million down tge line
  22. How the hell does a cocky fair weather footballer like Buckley get the captains armband over a solid performer that leads by example like Tronstad
