  1. A good win for England in the 3rd ODI against South Africa. After crashing to 14-3, Buttler and Malan smashed 131 and 118 respectively, finally ending on 346-7. They bowled S.A. out for 287, with Archer finishing with an impressive 6-40, which is. great news for all England supporters.
  2. Money was credited as being co-written by Berry Gordy and Janie Bradford. Barrett Strong always claimed he had an input into writing the song, but Gordy always denied it, saying Strong’s inclusion on the original release was a “clerical error “. Strong suffered a stroke in later life and wanted the share of the royalties he felt he was due to help pay his hospital fees.
  3. Barrett Strong died yesterday aged 81. Not a well known name, but he was the voice behind Motown’s first hit record, Money, released in 1960. However, he was better known as a song writer alongside Norman Whitfield penning hits including I Heard It Through The Grapevine, War and a number of hits for the Temptations such as Papa Was A Rolling Stone, Ball of Confusion and Cloud Nine. R.I.P.
  4. Years ago I worked with a chef called Eddie who, to say the least, had a very short fuse. Whenever this song came on the radio we would sing our own version of the song - Whenever I’m stressed, whenever I’m pissed, whenever the orders are heavy, I throw a pan at a waiter man, (bang, bang), just like Eddie. Needless to say, we never sang it if he was in earshot. Happy days. Bob Dylan - Just Like A Woman
