  1. We're riding high, full of confidence and expectation, therefore this has home banker written all over it.
  2. Hope is great. It's what makes football, football. No highs without the crushing lows (which we've had plenty of under the current owners). I'd sort of consider the FA cup a high. Great day out, back on the national stage, making a great account of ourselves. Those are the days we live for as a club like Rovers, I'm sure there'll be many more to come, regardless of how this season ends, so long as we can keep AND back the manager. As it happens, I think we will just sneak in the play offs, then it's a bit of a lottery, who knows how it's going to play out. It'll be a cracking watch though!
  3. 4.07 for Hirst seems generous from memory...
  4. Glad these meaningless games are over now and we can go back to real football. Honestly think UEFA/FIFA need to revisit qualification. I'm not suggesting big teams should automatically qualify but there are far too many dull international games.
  5. This would be a fair argument if we actually played most games at 3pm on a Saturday. Given the amount of midweek games/silly kick off times on Sky, it becomes significantly more than £16 a game when you start to miss them. I agree that for someone who lives round the corner from Ewood it’s a decent price.
  6. Not sure why you're on the wind up (over use of emojis) over this? £379 is still more than it should be? It's not going to get 1000s more back buying season tickets (unless we end up in the Premier League)
  7. Reading the minutes there it doesn't sound like we'll be getting an enticing offer. If anything sounds like we'll be lucky to get away with a small increase...Don't think they'll ever learn.
  8. I want England to do well and win something as much as the next bloke but Sunday really put how I feel about the national team v Rovers into perspective. Feels like a long time since we had such a big game so perhaps I'd sort of forgotten but the way I felt watching us on Sunday, dwarfs anything I've ever felt watching England.
  9. I’ve just switched on and seen Grealish miss a sitter. Dunno why he keeps getting picked.
  10. The shit kick off times don't help on these sort of offers. As discussed at length in previous season ticket thread, if you struggle to get to Ewood midweek or for later kick offs on a weekend, our season ticket pricing (as it currently is) is no good to you.
  11. I mean fair point, I did on review. Long day! Point stands that there was a path to giving us more. They chose to go another way, not sure why people are suggesting us playing tit for tat is an issue.
  12. I didn’t say it would be easy. Just in response to a comment that they gave us the maximum they could - it’s just not true. We don’t owe the dingles anything, we’ve had decent cup run, I wouldn’t let any more of them in than we absolutely have to for what is shaping up to be a massively important game for us (beyond it’s usual significance).
  13. They could have shifted the season ticket holders out of the away end to give us the whole stand quite easily.
  14. I've just had a little look around some Burnley comments online. Rovers have got such a huge bite here. I don't think I've ever seen such a superb OTT reaction. Talks of boycotts and big screens have really got me 😆
  15. Eye for an eye. Very simple, they took a small minded view in the away fixture. As others have said, shame they aren't up in the top tier.
  16. I commented this to the old man yesterday, was great to see. Not sure how long they'll last with some of our away support, although I would say every club has morons and where I was yesterday was on the whole very well behaved. EDIT - should also add that I drove over so didn't have to put up with drunk people pissing on coaches.
  17. Sounds like there's a bit of a pre-planned angle with this "story" already...
  18. Was a cracking game to watch live, good atmosphere, lots of chances and plenty of moments of (false) hope. My observations: - Suicidal substitutions. Trying to shut up shop was all wrong. Brittain was well off it when he came on. - Could have been so different if Hedges shot had gone in. - Morton - just a poor poor footballer for me. Gave it away loads but sure he’ll be first choice next game. - Opponents - just a horrible team with equally horrible fans. They deserve everything they hopefully get re points deductions Anyway. Onwards and upwards. Hopefully more to come in the league.
  19. I don’t get this suicidal approach in the second half. Pressing so high whilst 5/6-0 down seems insane, regardless of Kompany’s “philosophy”
  20. This is fucking superb 😂
  21. They’re just a total nothing club. They’re only the third most important club in the history of their own city, let alone in a position to think they’re of any relevance to the history of game nationally.
  22. I see selective quotes from this thread have made it on to a Sheffield United forum. It’s got them so rattled it’s hilarious 😂 Didn’t think our friends from across the Pennines were so thin skinned. One of them called us a “beige” club. I mean if we’re a nothing club what the fuck does that make them? Zero history in comparison
  23. They do unfortunately seem like one of the best sides the Championship has had for a few years - still that's what happens when you spend essentially more than the rest of the league combined on transfer fees (let's not get into the bollocks that is "but what about net spend!!!").
