Great result but we have to take our chances. Never a free kick at the end, ref trying to help them back in the game. -

Take the blinkers of lads, clear dive. If that was up our end you’d be livid if it was given. -

Awful dive, guess it comes from having no confidence in his ability to finish 😂 -

I don’t want to get carried away but Wharton looks the best holding midfielder we’ve put out in many many a year -

Not since the old Turkish bloke for me. Not saying Wharton is the same class but both have that composure when being pressed in midfield. -

I’ve defended him a lot but there’s only so far that being quick and energetic can get you. Dolan offers absolutely nothing at the moment, he needs to be an impact sub or loaned out. -

We were absolutely atrocious again until the goal against the run of play. -

Wharton is so composed in midfield for someone so young. Especially as he keeps getting put in trouble by his team -

When will he realise we aren’t good enough to play out from the back?!? If Mowbray was continually setting up doing this he’d be getting absolutely annihilated -

Already looking more like first half v Stoke than the second… We’re second to everything, exactly the same as under Mowbray. -

Just got back: JRC awful Buckley really poor (and I’m a fan of his) Dack poor Diaz off day. When we lose Ayala to the inevitable injury we’re in big trouble. Adam Wharton looked twice the player John Buckley is when he came on. He needs tying down. Massive amount of work to be done next week to avoid anything other than a relegation battle. Jury still very much out for me on JDT. Setup in the first half was atrocious. Lot for him to prove. -

Awful performance. Worst 45 mins I’ve seen in a long time. Kaminski awful for the goal. Buckely shit JRC shit Dack shit and doing nothing to repay the managers faith in giving him the start -
Whilst I think it important to sell him if we do get a decent offer, I can't help but feel a bit sad about Diaz leaving. I wasn't really arsed about Armstrong going, as whilst he'd done well, it was behind closed doors and there was no real connection. Since his breakout, miraculous transformation from Brereton to Diaz he's worked his socks off for our club and forged a real connection. Anyway, if his superb turn and finish against WBA is the last we see of him live at Ewood it was a great way for him to end.

Premier League 22-23

TAA is one of the worst full backs in the league defensively. He should be in midfield or on the bench for me. -
Unless there is a concrete plan (and by that I mean targets already identified just waiting for the money) to reinvest the majority of whatever we get (£15m?) then I’d hold firm. It’s most likely the funds will be used to plug the massive financial black hole, rather than improving the squad. I’d much rather roll the dice, I’m sick of scrapping around in this shit league.

Barely heard a peep out of West Brom fans apart from first 5 minutes and then just after they scored, so don’t think they’re in a position to be talking about our fans. Very very poor away backing. -

Yep. I tried to vote yesterday and again this morning. On iOS, get same error saying “your vote could not be submitted” -

What a win! I’d be more critical of parts of the performance if we hadn’t had Buckley at right back and Pickering at centre half. Few stand outs but Diaz and Ayala towered above everyone else. Diaz put himself in the shop window with another great performance, moments of quality and ran his socks off. Ayala - I’m convinced he might be the best centre half in the league, if only he could stay fit. -
I do think people fetishize academy graduates. Nyambe was a decent defensive full back. He was woeful going forward, beyond being quite quick. He was very poorly advised by his agent during the transfer saga. I do agree that Brittain (so far) looks a perfectly serviceable replacement, with the added bonus of not looking way out of his depth in the attacking third.
