  1. £1.3m was what was left from last summer, so the budget will be refreshed and also effected by players leaving etc making ‘room’. One interesting pOint by Cheston was on ffp. He stated clearly that ffp is always judged on this years and the previous two years accounts. Meaning that so long as you lose the same amount every year (and accumulatively that doesn’t exceed £39m over the three years) then your budget literally refreshes every season and you have the same spending power. If that makes sense. He also said that whilst our submissions for ffp were due in at the end of the month (feb), but we can make some further adjustments if needed up until the end of June when our accounting period ends. My observation is that a profit sale like Dack for example every three years would make huge dent in our ability to spend as a £20m fee would effectively make us whole for that year which would increase our spending power over any three year period. Interesting also (as I’ve said SOOO many times) that in particular Mowbray said on numerous occasions that failing all else, if he really wanted to spend more Money, the owners had told him he only had to ask. My overriding emotion now following the meeting is that we have a leadership structure who do care passionately about the club. Mowbray is far from dull. He’s passionate, animated, BRUTALLY honest about himself, his players, the market. I can 100% see why the lads including Jonty and Dunny love him so much. He hasn’t got tons of cash sloshing about but he does have a plan on how to use it better. Which he talked to me about openly and in detail. Based off the meeting and my first ever 10 mins with him one to one, he is absolutely the man to take us on for as long as he has that desire!
  2. I represented BRFCS impeccably. With respect and humility. I spoke at length with TM and briefly with SW and Robert Coar. I was open with them about a lot of the concerns on here. I’ve also privately spoken with members on here and I am happy to do so with people who do not sneer and look down their noses in order to strengthen their agenda. But I don’t have to tell you anything you big baby!
  3. Just read the notes mate. No point in me providing my insight really for you and a few others to go on with your own agenda. I went for myself, to try to understand my club. The most embarrassing moment of the evening was when a ‘fan’ stood up and proudly admitted to our CEO that he won’t pay for a ticket and goes every week on complimentary tickets.
  4. Nah mate...I was just being respectful to the Mods who put their trust in me as I didn’t know how it worked.
  5. He definitely did say at the moment and I did pick up on it but it wasn’t clarified.
  6. I really appreciated the opportunity mate. Was really interesting I thought.
  7. I’m not sure if there’s rules or etiquette about talking freely?
  8. The meeting was ok. There was actually very little skirting around the issues. But the real interesting stuff went on afterwards. Mowbray SO open...my first one. Would recommended to any Rovers fans!
  9. Great point about beating defensive teams. Yes, historically we have struggled to break them down because you need real technical quality to capitalise on poor teams or against 10 men...which I think is part of the reason we’ve been evolving and for the intro of more technical players. Hopefully the 5-0 at Wednesday is a signal of our intent.
  10. You just don’t get it mate. We’re second in that form table in spite of Mowbray. It’s only when we’re playing badly that all of the players are listening to him!!...???
  11. I think the fact that he concentrated on his defensive work will help keep him in the team.
  12. Walton has made one or two mistakes this season. The rest of the time he’s been solid to good. Stats are decent too...clean sheets etc.
  13. I think Tosin is a top player and will play at the very highest level once he’s fully matured. It was obvious from the first time we saw him play. But I don’t think it’s so hard to find ball playing cb’s now. They’re very much in fashion. Interesting what our newly appointed Portugese head of European recruitment can find too. Can’t imagine Portugal not being awash with technical players in all positions.
  14. I’d just go for another option Chaddy. Maybe more of a facilitator / assist player like Firminio. Someone who brings others into the game
  15. They spoke a lot about being more progressive and less reliant on the Long diagonals upto Graham and knock downs to Dack. I was just pointing out that something must’ve changed in our way of playing for Arma to be excelling up top because there’s no way he could’ve played that role previously. Having said that, signing technical players like Tosin, Downing and Holtby have helped towards that.
  16. That’s a great point and I agree that it’s his passing through the lines from the back which instigates a lot of our play. But make no bones about it, the choice of Tosin was because they want to play like that. It was deliberate.
  17. I can’t see them going for another target man Chaddy. It’s not the direction they are talking about. Interesting that Armstrong is doing well up top for us now. It’s the biggest indicator yet that the transition from that direct ball into Graham to a more progressive style. Not a chance Armstrong could’ve played up top for us 12 months ago.
  18. I wouldn’t have picked that bench either. Especially with Chapman, Buckley and Davenport fit.
  19. Trying what? As I’ve said mate none of us are even remotely important enough for our opinions to matter either way. But yes, I do try very hard not to be a miserable bastard. Providing context helps.
  20. Surprised he’s not on the bench today.
  21. I’ll bet there’s a few Hull fans this afternoon who wish they’d had as ‘shit’ a day as we apparently did yesterday....crikey. 5-1 down at home!
  22. I get your point about Chapman. Not sure why you’d take SG out of a team that’s won two on the bounce. To me it’s ‘as you were’ other than JRC for the injured Rothwell. What you can’t level at Tony today on a cold day on Teeside is that he’s gone negative. JRC and three forwards on the bench says he’s going for it!
  23. Ffs when are you and @Stuart going to realise that none of us are really that important. Neither are our opinions. Last summer was huge. I think he got it right with Downing, Tosin and Cunningham. Wrong with Johnson and I’m holding my judgement on SG. So I think the summer business was pretty good overall. Holtby was bloody excellent business. This summer has taken on more importance with the out of contract players and the ffp position. But I don’t understand what you expect us to do if we have a terrible summer in the transfer market. Do you want me to scream and shout from the rooftops? Cry myself to sleep? Post the same boring drivel about “£12m flops” “Mowbray out” and “Venkys scum”?. It’s just not how I’m built. Once the position is set then all I can do is try to understand it and carry on supporting my team. If I’m unhappy with this or that then I’ll say so. But I won’t dwell on this game that I can’t change.
  24. Bore off mate. The numbers provided and the squad dynamic makes this summer huge. Just because I refuse to sit wallowing in my own shit, feeling sorry for myself doesn’t mean I’m naive or behind the door. I say it as I see it. I don’t try to solve problems that I have no control of but I do try to understand. In fact, I stated clearly earlier in the season that I thought we’d benefit from a change of direction / manager. I still feel this way. I just don’t feel the need to regurgitate it every three hours on BRFCs like some pre pubertal child.
