  1. Top man Chaddy. There’s a lot to be said about positive mindsets mate. Hope you enjoyed your night.
  2. I might be wrong here but isn’t there also a rule that you cannot lose more than £13m per year (and £39m over a three year period)? If so then at £26m, there really wasn’t any wriggle room without sales and / or releasing wages via loans etc to make any signings in Jan?
  3. Ok, thanks. So maybe the V’s £5m contribution each year brings those operating losses from say £12m down to £7m and so over the two seasons (18/19 & 19/20) we have lost £14m plus the £12m net that @J*B referred to which would put us on £26m over two years and bang on track. So theoretically, with a third of our earners out of contract in the summer and should the likes of JRC, Buckley, Thompson etc break through then we should have a healthy-ish budget to trade in the operating losses plus some money (£6m) to spend on fees? As long as V’s are willing to pump in another £5m...
  4. We must have spent more than that because ffp allows losses upto £39m over 3yrs which would mean we have a £27m limit moving into 20/21 season? If so, then there’s an opportunity to go big in the summer, right?
  5. I’ve not seen much of Thompson tbh. Is he going to be good enough??
  6. Grow up will you. No manager is going to refuse to spend money and risk getting the sack. I specifically asked what the situation is around ffp.
  7. I feel like it must be coming from Waggot. If they asked Venkys (who likely do no know or care about ffp), they’d prob just cough up. I don’t blame them If we are so perilous. But I’d just like to know where we really stand with it. If anyone knows?
  8. He does have money to spend...and if he wants more he only has to ask them! That’s the point I’m making...and why I was asking questions re ffp
  9. The players and staff talk about contract extensions, raises, budgets for the new analysis suite etc etc...the general feeling is that Venkys will always sign off the expenditure. No issues...
  10. I’m not bullish. It’s not my opinion it’s been the consensus among the players and staff for years. I don’t take any joy or upset either way. Just passing real info on.
  11. I don’t know the numbers, I don’t know any of the finer details. But I know (from players and staff) that Venkys don’t refuse to spend. I don’t know why Mowbray doesn’t spend. Maybe FFP? Maybe Waggots decision?
  12. Johnson in for Rothwell and Downing out left. Leutwiler, Bennett, Williams, Davenport, JRC, Chapman, Graham.
  13. @J*B you seem to have a pretty clear idea on ffp. How close are we to the limit? How will that effect the summer bearing in mind a third of the current player expenditure (wages) are set to be out of contract? Will be able to spend back up to that mark? Will sales be necessary? If nothing else, this window shows that we are VERY concerned with FFP. Absolutely no way have Venkys completely ruled out any spending.
  14. Bloody hell...looks like @Sparks Rover was right about Ben Whiteman after all! Can’t believe he’s turned Brucey down like this...???
  15. Just seen Eddie Howes interview. Looks like the King deal is very likely!
  16. Always the case on here mate. Everyone who knows anything eventually gets chased off because ultimately this is a place for people to vent. They don’t want to know the truth.
  17. I could type something on Wikipedia and send a link if that helps? ??‍♂️
  18. Oh no...getting the transfer market link out now! ?
  19. Not worth £3m in the current market!??
  20. Mowbrays point is being taken out of context (as usual). He’s basically saying that he doesn’t get involved in all the bollocks of going back and forth. He keeps it simple and honest and talks about football.
  21. We signed a lad from Oxford too. He cost peanuts and is worth a lot more than £3m.
  22. No chance Joe. You’ve got completely the wrong end of the stick here. We have made massive steps towards integration of young players into the first team set up. That is proven by Jonty’s promotion and effectively the bridge from u23’s to the first team. The first team squad is now littered with former apprentices. Lenihan, Nyambe and Travis are mainstays and the likes of JRC, Butterworth, Buckley are tight in the mix. Magloire, Grayson have made their full debuts. We sold Raya for seven figures and Nuttall for £500k. Add to that the chat around the others who are about to break into the first team squad.... Id say there are probably a lot of young players around looking at us as a prime place to break into the first team.
  23. I’m lost for words Joe. Genuinely.
