  1. Ahh mate. How on earth do you get to passing that judgement without even watching him play? It’s truly bewildering.
  2. TM obvs rates him, the Forest fans in general, are distraught to be losing him and Venkys are splashing the cash on him. Let’s see what he’s got!
  3. I don’t think AK or their board really care. Their fans seem more interested in which replacement is coming in....
  4. If we’re spending the same money then we’re showing the same ambition. The manager obvs didn’t want those players you spoke of. They’d just personal choice I guess?
  5. Was thinking about staying on just for Stueys sake but worst case scenario, I’ll be back for Jan transfer window pal. ???
  6. Thanks for the reply. I appreciate the work you put in in your own time. I also think there have been issues raised that haven’t been dealt with but I respect your take on this.
  7. And I remain skeptical. BUT the signings have been good overall. The manager said he wanted 4/5 players after Arma and we’re currently on 2 with Brereton all but done. The team is playing well and we’ve made a good start. So what’s the big problem? There’s something much bigger going on there than the signing of one last cb or whatever...
  8. I’m not saying he doesn’t wind people up, but no more so than those who seek to drain every last ounce of life out of the board. Consistency.
  9. He’s not without blame at times. But I can recall one particular instance early in the window when he said he thought we might spend ‘£3-5m’ and he was ridiculed by the usual suspects on here. It was over the top and never pulled up. Consistency.
  10. How so? The manager obviously thinks he can get a tune out of Rodwell. IF he does then a Rodwell at 80% of his best would arguably be our best player. So once again, the only thing that matters is what the player can bring to the group...
  11. I understand you trying to keep this a relaxed affair and tbf to you your posts are generally balanced. However, there’s little doubt where you actually sit in terms of personal preference. You are very quick to jump on anyone who shows any displeasure at the incessant whining and down trodden attitudes which also cause friction. But you seem reticent to step in when the shoe is on the other foot. A few of these have been highlighted and still ignored. Chaddy is always positive and gets a lot of direct and indirect abuse on here. None of which is punished. Appreciate the job you do but a bit of consistency would be great, thanks.
  12. I don’t think the fee is a huge matter at this time. The main thing is to improve the group. We have achieved this by tying our best players to long contracts, not selling any of our assets and making some great signings. I genuinely don’t think that TM and the team are counting on Brereton getting 15-20 goals this season. The idea that because we’ve spent good money on you you need to instantly gratify us is unnecessary and outdated. It’s being able to fit into the team and make an impact that is most important. Winning and success becomes a biproduct. TM has proven himself quite frugal in his approach to transfers so that fact he’s sanctioned £5-7m spend on this guy shows what he thinks is possible.
  13. Yeah. Between now and Christmas they will decide who they want to keep from the permenant pool. My guess is that Mulgrew, Evans, Nuttall and possibly Graham will be offered extensions. The rest will be ready to move on. If Rodwell is anywhere near it he’ll also be extended. There are no players on there who are holding out on us. We hold the cards. Ok, so potentially only Palmer and Reed will be a loss to the team? That’s two players. On the flip side, Tomlinson, Mols, Travis etc will all be a year on. whichever way you paint it, to say we planning short term is ridiculous. If anything, you could (and now probably will) argue that we could’ve added more experience to that group. Older more expensive players to guide them over the short term.
  14. There’s nothing ‘short term’ about a team built around Raya, Nyambe, Lenihan, Dack, Armstrong and Breteton. Not to mention the potential of Rothwell, Bell, Travis, Davenport, Nuttall etc...this is pure madness! Almost like people just refuse to be happy! ??‍♂️
  15. You’d be disappointed!? Mate, we’re 5th in the league with a team full of lads willing to die for the cause. We’ve signed some fantastic players this window already along with potential and we’re about to commit to £6m on a 19yr Old wonderkid!! If this isn’t heaven for a Rovers fan after the last 9yrs I don’t know what is!!? ??
  16. It hasn’t closed yet!? Palmer, Rothwell and Armstrong started well. Davenport injured and Rodwell just signed but both potentially very good. Lets see if the Brereton signing goes through as expected along with another cash buy plus Harrison Reed. finally, the second half vs Reading and today’s result against Brentford add credibility to TM’s insistence on good characters. Those characters made the difference during difficult times as they always do!!
  17. There’s a player in Rodwell who is farrrrr better than anything we’ve got, including Dack. Whether that player still even exists today is what the manager is going to try to find out. If we’ve got him cheap then even at 80% he’ll be better than what we’ve currently got in his position/s. If TM and that group of players can’t get a tune out of him he’s finished anyway so everyone is motivated....no brainer. I am getting a little nervous about these ‘big money’ transfers that the boss is talking about though. 1 - because we need some quality up top and 2 - because TM obviously has his heart set on them and if the club fail to deliver it MIGHT destabilise Tony, the group, everyone...big week ahead. Still think they’re trying to sign 2 or 3 for loans to permenant.
  18. Looks like Travis is going out on loan...wonder if he’s thinking the same for Davenport. Leaving is with Smallwood, Evans, Reed and Rodwell? With Benno backing them up..
  19. Palmer looked every bit that player to me...and btw, what about Rothwell!!!?? Based on what Iv seen in a couple of sub appearances and 90 mins last night he could be the signing of the year for us. He was immense last night imo.
  20. I’d say that Travis and Davenport are to go out on loan. Expect possibly Harrison and Rodwell today...would be happy with that.
  21. Ahhh ok, so do you know him then? Because I haven’t read anything to suggest he’s a bad character. Expensive and injury plagued is a given. But a player of his pedigree on not a lot of money with a view to proving himself is a no brainer. The potential signing of Rodwell isn’t at odds with anything.
  22. I’d say it’s almost certainly a clean shaven Brereton.
  23. I think it’s quite simple. They have their targets and if they can land them they will if they can’t then we go with what we’ve got. It’s obvious that they are not prepared to have just anyone come in. They seem to be studying personalities as well as ability. Will I be disappointed if we don’t get anyone? Absolutely. Will I believe in the conspiracy theories about us actually having no money etc? Absolutely not.
