  1. What budget is that? I wasn’t aware that any of our fans actually knew what the budget was? Oh wow...now we’re worrying that we may have TOO MUCH quality!? ??
  2. Sign those three on loan with a view on Jan 1st and I’d argue it’s our best window for 10yrs.
  3. Undoubtedly. Though I’m pretty sure that the squad we have now would finish mid table-ish. With a couple of signings we’d have to be looking at being in and around the playoffs.
  4. Is the Luke Freeman deal doing the rounds via Nixon this aft? If We do Freeman and Brereton on loans with a view I’d be very happy.
  5. Correct. Which is probably why TM and the budget holders are bothered but I am not! ?
  6. There was a pause after he is asked about transfers being close which said to me we are currently so close and yet so far away...sounds tired and a little frustrated. Also feel like the “we will move on (from current targets)” was a shot across the bows of the selling clubs who are intent on eeking more and more money out of us. It was a very interesting interview.
  7. You get my real views mate. Just occasionally I have a bit of fun.
  8. It’s fine mate. No one else actually puts you on that pedestal. It’s just a special one that you have for yourself. I just like to create a bit of opposition for the energy leaches on here that’s all. ??
  9. I didn’t say I did. I said TO THE MEMBERS mate. And you can be disingenuous to multiple people didn’t you know?
  10. Yes Stuart. It was disingenuous and rude to the members you were referring to. But you knew that anyway...
  11. I’m not trying to justify anything. I’m just offering an informed alternative to your theory. I have no desire to change you or anyone. But if you can’t see that you are the dark to Chaddys light then god help you. Your previous post was decent until you omitted resale potentials. Just admit it. Do yourself a favour and leave the condescending iPhone X chat mate. In addition to the constant ‘lol’s’ it’s really not becoming of your pragmatic, well informed but ultimately self made image.
  12. I agree he backs himself over the long term. It’d be much safer for him to buy tried and tested looking at the picture short term (Eg Murphy, Etuhu, Best etc)
  13. There’s two ways you’re out here. Firstly Waghorn and Grabban will likely be on much more (30-40k) but I appreciate you we’re responding to another post. Second and most importantly you missed out the potential resale value of all those players. So let’s assume all three in your example have a decent season. 15 goals in all comps, team lose in the playoffs) Based on their ages, Waghorn and Grabban are the same value. Realistically they’re only going to be sold for the same or a touch more if they go up. However put a young player like Brereton or Gallagher on there and their value is ticking upwards constantly. If all three players had poor seasons the depreciation is still quicker on the older models. If those three were able to have fantastic seasons scoring 25 goals firing their respective teams into the PL then again then the likes of Brereton would be worth £30m (Grealish & sessegnon) money. Whilst you’d still not get much more for Waghorn and Grabban who are now considered ‘Championship’ strikers. the guaranteed resale value adds further weight as Waghorn and Grabban won’t be worth a carrot in 4yrs regardless of their successes between now and then. As they’ll be deemed too old / ageing. Unlike a 23yr Old Brereton. Brereton at £8m + smaller wages + an increased potential of a) getting your money back or b) turning a significant profit. As long as you trust your judgement. Which the manager obv does.
  14. Not the case. Wages are not linked to the transfer fee. Wages are grown usually with success over time and / or grow significantly when the Premier League touches them. So most young players are on relatively low wages unless they’ve played for a PL club. Yes. 100% The wages debate is a big one. Bamford, Waghorn etc will be earning £30-40k PW now...top earners at our place now £20k? Brereton offered £10-15k over 5yr contract is a great offer for him.
  15. Id say it’s you and the others who are making the biggest assumptions. You’re assuming we can’t afford it. Assuming that it’s costing us a fortune. We have no idea how good he is or can potentially be. But our manager must rate him highly and the Forest fans desperately don’t want to lose him. Would I spend the money on other players? Possibly. Would I be ecstatic to sign a young prodigee for £8m with someone else’s money? Abso-bloody-lutely!!
  16. There are a lot of people on here who seem genuinely concerned about spending Venkys money. The £8m fee will likely be spread across the term of the deal and be dependant on success etc. More importantly, if the usually rather frugal Mowbray is keen and the Forest fans are desperate not to lose him...then what’s the problem?
  17. ?????? Stalker!! Haha - though we could use a man with your skill set to pull all the ‘pessimists’ who said we had no money to spend! (Assuming pessimists is a reasonable description now that it’s ok to call the other group the ‘optimists) ???? sane thing as you pal. Only change ‘positively’ with ‘negatively’ then you’ve cracked it.
  18. Not necessarily true. Loan or permenant the fee is the fee no matter how it’s carved up. You usually pay less to be fair. Because the selling club have decided to cut their losses
  19. Yup, got that impression. That deals possibly agreed but the selling club are waiting to get one in before they release...?
  20. http://www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/sport/16439347.permanent-priority-for-rovers-boss-in-the-loan-market/ Interesting. Looks like we’re chasing a CB, ST and CM all on loans with a view to permenant deals at Christmas.
  21. Never understood why fully grown men use the word lol.
  22. Looks fantastic. Just bought a house in Bolton. But more than likely going to Wigan. ??
