  1. So that’s McGuire and McFadzean supposedly In the bag…I’ve spotted a cunning plan from Greggo! We’re only signing players with Mc in their name! How we could do with McMahon, McCallister and McAteer now! ps - Mcsheffry anyone?
  2. You just won the internet for today pal. Nailed it.
  3. I’d put good money right now that Adam Wharton will go further than David Dunn. AW is raw and inconsistent but there’s elements of his game that are breathtaking. Like, much better than even just ‘Premier League’ standard. There are moments in games where he gives me ‘peak’ Tugay vibes. No higher praise than that..imo Tugay would’ve been running City’s midfield if he were playing in this era.
  4. Give it a rest. EVERY club bar the top 0.1% has to sell their star players. It’s what you do with the cash that separates the men from the boys. Lets hope we’re not the latter…
  5. Great move for Adam, for Rovers and Palace. We get the cash, he gets a PL move to club where he will get games and WHEN he shines bright Palace will benefit, firstly on the pitch and then we’ll all benefit financially when he goes to a CL giant for £50-100m. I genuinely think he is good enough.. Now, PLEASE god, give the best manager we’ve had in god knows how long, the money to bring in 2-4 of the right level of players to bolster this team. 🙏🏽
  6. It won’t fool anyone mate. It’s whether they decide to be ‘blissfully unaware’ that’s I’m worried about…
  7. I think Yates is a loan and the one lined up either way. McGuire is a purchase and ergo more expensive so will only happen if Gally is sold. I think Hedges and Dolan could easily play as wing backs in that team along with Brittain, JRC, Pickering and Chrisene. There’s lots of cover there. I don’t know where Siggy plays tbf. He worked hard last night but I agree was completely ineffective in the wb position. He couldnt do any worse than Moran in that floating 10 position he played last night though…
  8. Could it be that Yates is lined up to replace Ennis as the second striker option and McGuire would replace Gally as the target. With the three at the back, I’d say SS would thrive in that role Moran played (failed at) last night. Pears Phillips. Hyam. Wharton JRC Sondre. Wharton. Hedges Szmodics Yates Gally Still have Dolan, Brittain, Pickering when fit and Siggy for the wing back roles. Carter when fit, ORiordan for CB Buckley when fit, Ayari and Garrett for CM Still missing a striker even if we keep Ennis and Leonard….?
  9. Reading between the lines and JDT’s insistence on experience, I think Yates and Phillips are the ones lined up and McGuire is additional if we sell Gally.
  10. So, based on the last few weeks, the return of JRC, Hedges, Gally and Dolan, I would be happy to add Phillips and Yates on loan and sell no one. Maybe loan out Markanday, Leonard, Batty and Gilsenan. If we sell Gally then do the Maguire deal on top of those above. If we sell Wharton then I’d hope we’d have £5m to reinvest in this window…🤞🏽 So, I reckon it’s 2-4 in and 4-6 out (including young lads going on loan) in the next few days.
  11. A professional performance. We never got out of 3rd gear, nor needed to. Trondstadt, JRC, SS, Dolan and Gally played well. I thought Ayari looked decent when he came on too… Garrett and Moran were really poor. I’m not having Moran, haven’t seen him play well yet. Interesting few days ahead!!
  12. Literally just spat my drink out reading that! 🤣🤣🤣
  13. Funny, I hadn’t missed you at all…just a constant line of 2 + 2 = 5, shite… £15m is a LOT of money to kick off the bidding with and so as I said, IF (and it’s a big IF) Palace have bid £15m a week before the window shuts, then I reckon the deal will get done. It could get done at 20 plus add ons or 25 plus % sell ons or whatever. But it will get done. God knows if we’ll get any of it to reinvest in proper signings. We’re in ‘managed decline’ mode as far as I can see.
  14. IF Palace have offered £15m for Wharton a week before the window shuts then he’s as good as gone. £15m is a LOT of money, they’ve got time to push it to £20m and a sizeable sell on and really importantly, no “Love for the club” could eclipse a 5x raise on your new contract. I wouldn’t blame him and no one on here could do either. Thats assuming the bid has gone in….
  15. Is this just the ‘general chat’ thread now? If so, can we make a Transfer one? Thanks 👍🏼
  16. I’m not saying the wider picture here isn’t very worrying. There’s an obvious managed decline here and we know where that ends… But, how can the Travis situation shock anyone? Anyone with a set of eyes can see that Travis simply cannot do what JDT wants his pivot to do. They’re expected to play on the half turn, recieve the ball from the cb’s and be very comfortable on the ball. I fully expected him to be replaced at the first opportunity. Trondstadt has done that and the emergence of Wharton put the top hat on. But let’s get it right, Trav isn’t even first sub in that position. Now onto the move. They can’t sell him if no one wants to buy him but it makes no sense keeping the player on huge wages and not playing him. The manager has said that Ayari isn’t his replacement. I reckon it’s O’riorden, a CM and a winger to go.
  17. I agree mate, but who would buy him? Looks like a 5yr old playing in an u10’s league..we might struggle to loan him 🙈
  18. Yeah I probably missed out a LB. We’re definitely short on that side. I read that the Crewe lad plays right side and can cover CB and RB so I can’t see us signing another after him with Brittain and JRC to come back. fwiw - I don’t think the manager wants a player who does what Travis does. That’s the whole problem for Travis. So maybe we do have an eye on Buckley returning in March?
  19. I think the only one we need to sell is Travis. If he can’t get in this team, with one win in eight, he is better to move on. It’s best for all parties. It looks like we’re replacing Hill with the Crewe lad. Realistically, I’d expect us to replace Travis if we sold him and we could do with a couple of forward on Loans. Im going for… 4 out - Trav (sold), Hill (recall), Leonard (loan) and Markanday (Loan) 4 in (Crewe lad (buy), CM (buy /loan), 2x forwards (loan)
  20. Huge question marks around the future of Travis, our club captain who can’t get a game. The strong links to CB’s lead you to think we’re losing one. Then there’s our top scorer, SS who will be attracting admiring glances. Some suggestions on here that a bid is in for him. Here’s my big worry…Based on evidence, I think there’s a managed decline at the club. I actually do trust GB and JDT but I don’t trust Venkys not to pull the rug from under them. Whats the chances that we’d adequately replace the possible sales of Trav, Carter and SS whilst plugging the glaring gaps at fullback and the forward line? 🙈
  21. Wahlstedt Brittain Hill. Carter. Pickering Trondstadt. Wharton Moran. Szmodics. Siggurdson Telalovic Hilton, Gamble, Trav, Garrett, Gilsenan, Markanday, Ennis, Leonard Rovers 3 - 1 Rotherham Sammy and 2x for Tela
  22. Wahlstedt Hill. Carter. Wharton. Pickering Sondre. Wharton Moran. Sammie. Brittain Leonard Feel like this is the most solid team we could start with in a tough looking away game.
  23. Leo Hill Carter Hyam Pickering JRC. Sondre Brittain Sammie Dolan Ennis Wharton for Hyam if injured. Still have Wharton, Markanday, Moran and Telalovic to come on and make a difference. Feel like this could be Ennis big week. Kick off his Rovers career. Those writing Telalovic off is plain embarrassing. Unless you’re one of the coaches then you haven’t seen this guy play and the manager has a history of keeping players out for long periods before dropping them in and them being excellent. The fact he’s not playing is likely much more to do with him adjusting and getting used to what the manager wants than him being “clearly not good enough” 🙈
