Fantastic game to watch today. Should’ve been 5. Brittain, Carter and Szmodics were very good. Dolan, Moran and Gally were poor and the rest did ok. I reckon we’ll take some stopping once Siggy and Ennis get fit. -

Bang on Chaddy - maybe Hill in for Buckley? Tell you what though, get Siggy, Telalovic, Hill and Ennis into that squad / team and it’s looking solid and pretty exciting to me! Dolan, Leonard and Markanday don’t even make our bench when we’re all fully fit…👀 -

Anyone been and can give us a breakdown on who played well? Interested to get opinions on the Keeper, Moran, Buckley, Markanday and my new favourite player Gilsenan! -

Gritty performance. We did ok other than the course 20 mins of the second half. Pears, Brittain, Hyam, Carter Hedges and Trav were excellent. Wharton showed glimpses of his unbelievable talent but was a little sloppy overall. Gally was good when he came on and Moran looks a tidy player too… JRC, Dolan and Leonard nowhere near the required level. Any of the media lot asked about Buckley?? -

Good game to watch… I thought Ennis and Gilsenan were the standout performers. Ennis is head and shoulders better than Gally. Strong, mobile and positions himself well. I think he has potential to score 15-20 goals in that team. Gilsenan - Wow! First time I’ve seen him play and I really liked him. Silky smooth and very gifted technically. Could be some player when he grows into his body a bit. Garrett the pick of the midfielders for me. Was consistent whilst Bucko moves from the sublime to the ridiculous. Big season for him..make or break for me. Adam Wharton is jusr insanely good! Looks a little rusty and was guilty of giving the ball away but half the time he gives it away because he sees things that no one else does. Hedges and Brittain looked decent too. Batty doesn’t look ready to me, neither does Hilton or Barnes after his injury. Overall you have to be happy. The future looks rosey with these young lads. -

Decent first half. We’ve probably been, just about the best team…I know it’s easy to compliment Leonard following his goal but he is made like nothing we’ve had since Jordan Rhodes. His movement in the box is instinctive and he’s constantly right where he needs to be, whether we find him or not. It’s like watching a parody of Gallagher who has no idea where to be. 🤣 Other than that…Dolan wasteful and lacking in end product, Markanday showing flashes and Travis started the game well before seeming to run out of puff. Sondre looks solid and useful. JRC is being pinned by their winger. Be a great game to bring someone like Brittain on and move JRC into midfield. Looking forward to seeing Ennis. -

Is that £21.6m or 21.6m shares? If it’s the latter, what does that equate to in ££ -
Jon Dahl Tomasson - Sweden coach

I don’t think any amount of backing or money could stop him from taking a job with the reigning Champions of a country where his family live and he’s hero worshipped. The only thing that could’ve swayed it was promotion for us last season. If Feyenoord want him, he’s going.- 9455 replies

Bradley Dack - Twist or Stick?
Paul Mani replied to bigbrandjohn's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
I’d stick and have Dack fight it out with Szmodics for another season. Especially with Ayala and Brereton gone. But I’ve a feeling that JDT&GB will twist and back themselves to use cash from the departures of Ayala, Brereton and Dack to better effect. £4m a year in wages, combined? -

Pears JRC. Carter. Hyam. Pickering Sorba Travis. Morton. Dolan Szmodics Gally Subs - Kaminski, Brittain, Wharton, Garrett, A.Wharton, Hedges, Brereton fwiw, I think we’ve been playing a 442 or 4411 since the World Cup break. There’s little nuance tactical plays we execute in game, like JRC or Pickering tucking inside Trav or Morton to create a midfield overload. I like the simplicity of it all. No qualms at all with Dolan for Brereton. He rarely lets us down, works tirelessly and contributes goals and assists. Also think he and Szmodics have some chemistry with those super fast give and go’s. -
Championship - 22-23

With so few games left, I think having a smaller squad could be a blessing. It’s all about fighting together and gaining momentum now. Create a seige mentality and roll your best XI out every game, managing energy levels as you do…Adrenalin will drive the players and they don’t want change anyway. We have good cover everywhere other than with Travis and Gally when you’re looking like bringing in Garret, A Wharton and Leonard. In that scenario, the clubs future could lie between a Roy of the Rovers ending with Leonard scoring the winning goal at Wembley in the playoff final OR us missing out completely because we failed to sign a striker or send the reg docs in time for Lewis O’B…. Lets see! -

5 of those at home and a couple of upcoming away games at Birmingham and Huddersfield. We’ve got a bloody chance here lads 🙊 Szmodics is a very good player. So intelligent, he stretches teams and finds space running around in defenders blind spots. Should’ve been 5 tonight and we made it difficult but overall I’m not complaining. -

No snow over here in Texas!! I’ll tell ya that!! 🤠 -
There’s lots of reasons why a job doesn’t work out. Could be that he hasn’t settled? Has a family member he needs to look after? Etc Professionally it might not be working out. Personality clash? Culture change? Imagine there’s a big change of pace from Welsh FA to promotion chasing Rovers? My thoughts circled around the timing after the window. One which was overshadowed by the LOB saga but was pretty much an unmitigated failure. Because we didn’t find / sign the players in the positions that JDT and GB wanted. Maybe the post mortem in Feb pointed to Williams and they’ve all decided that in order to prevent it from happening again (and the manager from leaving), he be moved on…🤷🏽♂️

Based on the managers update around injuries, I would play: Pears JRC. Carter. Hyam. Brittain Buckley. Travis Sorba. Szmodics. Dolan Gally Subs - Hilton, Phillips, Pickering, Morton, Hedges, BBD Reasons - Side picks itself but imo Brittain is top class and was the difference in the last home game as him and JRC kept springing the press with great forward passing. Sorba and Buckley have earned the right to have their places back and neither Hedges or Morton did enough. The big choices surround Dolan, Gally and BBD. For me, Dolan has been our most influential player in the last month along with JRC. I think his best position is off the left, he’s on form with assists and goals flowing. He stays in. I’ve gone for Gallagher off the back of his two goals and an assist in the last couple of games. He’s been a real handful and deserves to keep his shirt. BBD has it all to do in my opinion and a couple of games out of the starting XI may help to light that fire again….wouldn’t mind him going on a Bezza style 10 goal bonanza in the last 10 games! Nothing to fear after beating Leicester in midweek - JUST BE BRAVE, LADS Rovers 2-1 Sheff United Side note - I’m absolutely sure that somethings gone on with Adam Wharton. Watching the presser yesterday JDT (in his usual, jovial, animated manner) mentioned every player including Batty and Barnes in his update, omitting A.Wharton. When Bayes asked specifically about his possible return to the first team, JDT’s face changed, as did the tone of his voice. His lips seemed to purse and he said sternly, words to the effect of “he has a lot to do” then immediately flipped himself out into a joke about Brereton commentating for Rovers vs Leicester. Anyone else get that vibe? Hope I’m wrong. -

A wonderfully brave performance. We went toe to toe with Leicester and were better in every department. The manager and players deserve huge credit. Every player played their part. Defensively sound again. Szmodics and Travis the standouts for me. -
I agree 100% that Hyam is. He’s the best we’ve had for a long long time. I think Carter and Wharton have the potential to be better still, but Hyam and Lenihan would’ve been the top CB pairing in the league. I’m not complaining though…we’re well stocked with great quality cb’s 👍🏼

Argh, you’re really struggling with this…they offered ALL THREE new deals. But DL and JR are good players so were offered better deals elsewhere (Middlesbrough and Bournemouth) meanwhile RN had zero offers and shit out when the new regime came in. Because Tony had left and he’s the only one (apart from you and 47, who rated him) In any case, my opinion on RN was made up 18 months before he left the club. Ergo, my opinion was not linked to the clubs stance…and JDT saw what most of the world see, that he’s crap! No conspiracy. Easy to spot. 👍🏼
-
Anyway, I’m off to bed happy! Let’s hope this is the start of a run for Gally and that we can get through Tuesday night injury free and ready to smash Sheff United on Sat! 👊🏽
-
How did they “clearly” want to keep DL and JR more than RN!? All three were offered new deals well ahead of time….the only difference was that Rothwell and Lenihan were good players and got better deals. Meanwhile, 18 months after I’d made my mind up on RN (an 18 month period where ‘the club’ made at least two attempts to extend his contract - in opposition to my opinion) the guy signed a 1yr contract to play for Wigans U23’s on less money. But yeah… 👍🏼
