  1. I watched it too…he’s very very focused. My feeling is that if they give him the autonomy he needs, he will deliver what they want with bells on! Its also clear that there’s not going to be loads of cash. He referred to two separate clubs where he’s been able to generate millions of pounds in income and still delivered the goals. It looks like he will focus on youth development and clever player trading to generate cash like Brentford. Fair play, the first time in 12yrs that the vision seems clear and reasonable.
  2. Eh? I’m not making any decisions….we’ve also still got Ainsworth and Warne on the table and I don’t necessarily see the fit with them? But the way I see it, what’s the point (unless you’re a half wit) in coming on here regurgitating the same bilge and insisting on this or that before signing off “Venkys out” 🙈 I’m looking at the situation in context and with GB as DoF, when I look at the candidates being talked about, those two seem a good fit….could I be wrong? Sure!…and??
  3. Not necessarily….could’ve been involved in a long-ish process but got the call 48hrs ago and has since finalised package, role, met the owners (on zoom), some staff and is now sat in front of a camera being interviewed!
  4. Lies - All I said was, I’d take Ferguson on the back of Ancelotti’s recommendation. I still would…but with Broughton now in place, surely the dream ticket is Knutsen or Delia?
  5. Broughton seems like a very interesting appointment. Should open up our transfer thread nicely!! Delia or Knutsen next please! 🤞🏽
  6. Warne, like Ainsworth has earned a chance. Why not with us? I think he’s a good manager 👍🏼
  7. Good manager - deserves a chance like Aunsworrh. I’d be ok with giving either of these or big Dunc a go!
  8. No, I’ve employed a lot of people in my time (Pronably more than Waggot). Many many times I’ve been in the dark during the process and yet it’s rarely taken over 4 weeks and what I’ve learned is to keep it simple because people in general are complex. There can be no guarantees who will be successful because there are so many variables. Cooper had shown nothing at Swansea to suggest he’d take Chris Hughtons (Serial Champ winner) Forest up. Scott Parker has many blotches on his CV, as does Silva who looks clueless every time we see him in the Prem. Alternatively, Jokanovic starting the season at Sheff United looked absolutely nailed on as a top manager appointment whilst Farke has as many failings as successes on his CV and Carvalhal (the ‘other’ chosen one is apparently much the whore and will go anywhere for an extra bob or two…he also has ZERO championship promotions. So, whilst I respect your opinion, I have no idea who has promised you / us an ‘experienced’ man. We had one of those in the previous incumbent, which didn’t work out. For me, I’d want to see a full process followed of application, cv review, first and second interviews etc - but should one of my final candidates be personally recommended by a managerial God like Carlo Ancelotti, that would create a huge sway in my mind on top of the knowledge I’d gained. Especially if the candidate had impressed me. Theres nothing over zealous or premature about a 4wk+ process. None of us are privy to the full information but I hate inertia and am prepared to tip quicker than most. So yeah, if Carlo is backing Big Dunc, I’d be open to giving him a chance over wheeling out yet another ‘safe pair of hands’ and boring the shit out of everyone!
  9. I just can’t seeing being anything other than 💯disciplined. The answer is, I don’t know…but of all the options I’ve seen, I’d do a deal for Dunc!
  10. I Don’t drink. I just think he’s our guy! I want a manager with passion and I’m sick of the soft underbelly of that squad…
  11. You boys can rhyme as many off as you like…I’d take every one of those recommendations over yours! Theres a million reasons why some work out and some don’t but I’d rather Carlo be making the decision than Waggot!
  12. Carlo is the Don!! Champions league winning, elite manager ringing that belter, Waggot up telling him Big Dunc is the dogs danglies and we’re pissin about doing DBS checks for Nigel Adkins - DO THE DEAL FOR BIG DUNC!! 💪🏽🔥🔥
  13. If Big Dunc’s good enough for Carlo, he’s good enough for me!! Do the deal I say!
  14. What makes you so sure it spells disaster? Ferguson is pretty well thought of as is Unsworth and Walsh was arguably the most sought after DoF in English football when he left Leicester? Sounds like an interesting mix if it were to materialise 🤷🏽‍♂️ There’s tons of ‘tried and tested’ who fail too! Personally I’d be open for Ferguson, Carrick, Manning, Ainsworth and any of the foreign coaches - I feel we need something fresh and new. Want us to stay away from yesterdays men like Adkin’s, Pardew
  15. I think Ainsworth has shown himself capable of galvanising a club and winning promotions with small budgets. The fact that he loves the club is a bonus… Based on standard rhetoric, Mowbray was the right choice in terms of a history of getting promotion into the PL. It didn’t work. We nearly went up against all the odds last season. There’s no magic formula, especially when you don’t have the budget to blow the league away.
  16. I’d take Ainsworth, he’s paid his dues and deserves a chance on merit. Feels like it could be a Wilder to Sheff Utd type appointment…the extra % that he’d give for the cause as a lifelong fan is worth its weight in gold.
  17. I’d love Farke…but I’d also be ready to give a chance to Ainsworth, Ferguson or Manning if they were appointed.
  18. They’re not gone though are they? I haven’t read or seen anything showing them holding a scarf up at another club. Its been 3-4 weeks guys. A normal timeframe for a 60+ applicant, two stage process…
