  1. Eh? Come on pal, you know I love you but I’m willing to say right now that you’ve made this up!! No way did you (or anyone else on this planet) predict that Rovers were targeting the top 6 AND BBD would replace AA’s goals! 🙈🤣
  2. As I said, I’m happy to trust Park because my understanding is that HE chose the players I listed. All of whom are good players in my opinion. If you don’t feel the same about either Park OR the players then that’s your opinion. The sentence I’ve highlighted is a frame of mind I’ve found to be instrumental in life….as with every threat or adversity comes equal measures of opportunity and optimism. No one could’ve seen losing 11 first team players in the summer as anything other than adverse, a threat to our place in the Championship?. But the remaining players (and manager) obviously saw it as an opportunity and look how it’s unfolded…👍🏼
  3. I don’t think so. Different context being within reaching distance of promotion. Plus the sale of AA and the training ground has improved our FFP position now..
  4. That depends how much of the money you have to spend and how well you spend it…if we’re gonna buy 4 x £5m players then is it so bad? (I don’t want to sell BBD btw)
  5. Say what!!? You don’t doubt his knowledge of local players? 🙈 Serious question, tell me ONE player who he’s backed who has been any good? Not to mention the number of very good ROVERS players he’s written off with embarrassing consequences. I doubt his allegiance to Rovers, never mind his ability to pick a player.
  6. I’m happy to sit back and enjoy what unfolds both on and off the pitch in January. My feeling is that we will push to pick up Hedges and Souttar on small fees once they’ve got salary arrangements agreed. Then it will be a case of who blinks first with the contract negotiations. Does a PL team come in with a couple of million for Lenihan or Rothwell? If not then I can see them staying with us until the summer, whether contracts are signed or not. Do the three out of contract decide that they want to sign or can we budge a little with the money to get them to sign. Either way, I think this John Park can be trusted to find us players. The understanding is that he was instrumental in the signings of Edun, Poveda, Khadra, JPvH and getting Maja over (only to fail his medical) so I believe he deserves some slack. I certainly wouldn’t be writing off the likes of Souttar and Hedges as a fan. Ultimately, I think, reading between the lines is that the club are aiming to lose no one and sign the Scottish lads, Maja on loan to perm and a central midfielder. If we achieve that, we’re on…. The HUGE challenge is if someone bids £25M+ for BBD….then we better have an amazing plan to reinvest! Really exciting month ahead!
  7. I can’t disagree with any of this but we have to be careful we don’t end up slagging him for losing and then claiming he’s lucky because he’s winning… My thought is that in spite of all the frustrations of the last few years with Mowbray he has given more academy / youth players their debuts than any other Rovers manager in our history (fact) and therefore deserves full credit for this team. If we’re honest then none of us wanted to start the season with this squad, includingTM. Had we been offered 10th or 11th then we’d have snapped their hand off! Many in here were predicting relegation. The key, as you say is to keep the fire under this group, lit. But for me he doesn’t need to take us up to have done enough to prove himself. IF the manager takes us up with THIS team on THIS budget then the achievement will be in Leicester winning the PL, Bournemouth fairytale, Rovers winning the PL fairytale league! Mowbray and our best players will be highly sought after! So, whilst I agree the jury is out, the scales are certainly tipping!
  8. Out of interest, is anyone still in the ‘Mowbray Out’ camp! Surely not? I’ve conceded defeat!
  9. Did anyone get to the bottom of the attacking midfielder we’re watching at Bordeaux?
  10. Eh? I wasn’t writing him off I was saying he’s a 10 not an 8 (as In an attacking midfielder not a centre midfielder)
  11. Maja is a no brainer if he’s fit. We obv did a stringent medical last time which ruled out a summer move so my take is that if he passes that then take him. Ability wise he improves our forward line, no doubt.
  12. Thanks unleaded. I’d take Maja on a loan with perm option in the summer. Anymore I got on the attacking midfielder?
  13. Butterworth is never an 8 in a million years. What’s all this comparison with Rothwell? He’s a 10 or false 9. Buckley will take Rothwells position next to Trav eventually. Dack and Butterworth to fight out the false 9
  14. Id say, don’t sell anyone and go get us a RWB and a forward on loan. Job done. Fwiw I think that Dack and Butterworth will fight it out for the false 9 position and Buckley will fight Rothwell for that spot next to Trav. Great options 👍🏼
  15. Unfortunately it’s not that simple. Give those four ‘what they want’ and we’ll have every player coming back cap in hand for a pay rise…plus, keeping them happy doesn’t guarantee promotion:..it’s def a tricky situation.
  16. That article is just a provocative spin on what amoebray said last week. In the actual interview he was actually laying the gauntlet down to Venkys, not trying to sell our players 👍🏼
  17. A wonderful team performance….the back 3 and Buckley were sublime. Both fullbacks faultless and had that Cantona-esque chip from BBD literally took my breath away! What. A. Team!
  18. Waggott said when we spoke that the club had deals for Scottish players on pre-contracts set up. The John Parks effect I guess.
  19. Fine. But for the record, I’ve been lower than most in terms of economic status over the years. There’s no ivory tower in my mind…..what I have learnt however is that framing my life from a can’t do perspective would never have served me well. I know that I have felt every emotion that you have felt around Rovers and still managed to find a positive and a reason to enjoy supporting my team. It’s possible and it would help the lads…. Completely understand that many don’t feel the same, it wouldn’t do for us all to be the same though 😊
  20. Yes, help from the club would be good. But as I said before, we decide how we perceive what’s happening externally to us and we decide what action to take…..so once we make that decision it doesn’t matter whether the club lay of £10 tickets, 5 game bundles or a tray of free sandwiches,. We’re going!
  21. It’s glass half full vs glass half empty. No one can win this argument because they are character types. Some people re-Frame everything in their life to find the positive, others do the same to find the negative. The actual facts remain the same. What is true though are two things. You have a choice on how you perceive what has happened AND you have a choice on what you do about it….and as a Blackburn Rovers supporter. A lover of the club I don’t think we’ve EVER had a better chance to go up than this season, since we were relegated. This young team have got ‘something’ about them and they need our backing to get to a collective goal…the premier league! So if fans can find it in their hear to get back to the stadium and support this group then I’m sure it will only serve to improve those chances of promotion further. It doesn’t signify that we support Venkys are that all is forgiven. But it does tell a young footballer that we care and appreciate them….then who knows what we could achieve!
