  1. Why are you assuming there’s a huge disparity? You’re just literally guessing and then passing it off as a rational conclusion. I accept that the deals could be unrealistically low and that this is the reason they haven’t been signed…. What I’m asking you to consider is that the contract offers are really good but that the players and their agents are being greedy. It’s as possible as the former but seems to be being missed by most. You’re intelligent enough to understand that.
  2. I’m not sure….reading between the lines, he wants more money. None of us are privy to what those numbers are and the difference between parties. I also wonder if there’s a point where us as the fans stop beating the club up. It’s not like we haven’t made an offer to him or the others. The fact that the deals remain unsigned may very much be down to the players, not the club…
  3. No, he plays because he’s the only RB at the club. When JRC was fit, he was favoured and he isn’t even a natural RB.
  4. Firstly, the vast majority of our squad would get ‘mauled’ in the Premiership. Having watched Nyambe be pretty much inconsistent for years I’m content that Adama Traore, Mane, Son, Martinelli and co would feel confident against him too 👍🏼
  5. I really like Pickering. But I think JRC is the best of the bunch at wing back, IF he can stay fit.
  6. He’ll be the best wing back at the club IF he can stay fit. Perfect position for him really and he’s shown to me that he has much more ability than Nyambe or Pickering. His fitness is the only real concern.
  7. Argh mate, this coming from you? 🙈🤣
  8. I’d sell Nyambe for £3m if he had 18 month on his contract!! 🙈🤣🤣
  9. Imo there’s only Newcastle we should worry about re BBD. They’ve got the cash to break Venkys. Ive been saying for around 6 months now that DL and JR will potentially take some replacing externally (think Buckley could replace JR in time)….but genuinely I don’t think it’d take much over £500k to replace Nyambe. He’s a decent Championship player…Pickering is a better full back overall and these players can be found.
  10. Fair point and he’s only 24….he’s been sold for big money but his goal scoring record is horrific!
  11. If they get the right offer, he’s gone! I think there’s only Newcastle even capable of doing the deal of the teams that might come for him!
  12. I pray you’re right….because if they’ve decided they want him then he’s as good as gone! They won’t struggle hitting Venkys magic number and then x5 BBD’s wages! IF we sell….I bloody hope we’ve got better targets than Oli ‘couldn’t hit a barn door’ Burke!! 🙈
  13. My colleague is a staunch Sheff Utd fan and reckons Burke is honestly the worst player he’s ever seen. Check their social media handles and most fans agree with this assessment….
  14. I don’t fancy our chances of keeping BBD if Newcastle are interested! They’ve go money to burn 🔥
  15. I would agree with most of the last few posts. The character and quality of any new signings is always paramount. But never more so than now. Is there anymore on this young Irish RB we’ve supposedly signed from Drogheda? James Browne? I believe he trained with us for a while which means he should tick both boxes. I’m not in favour of smashing our wage structure but there’s always been a special rate saved for our best players and the way that DL is playing, honestly I’d pay him it. In this form I’d even back him to be worth big money too 👍🏼
  16. I’ve been thinking about this team and January and there’s a train of thought that says you don’t sell, OR sign anyone…here’s why. The power of this team is this group. They’re not the most talented group in the league, nor the most expensively assembled. But they are a proper team. A group of individuals who clearly care about each other and the club. The prominence of the academy and U23’s players means many of them feel like brothers. There’s no factions or politics…the signed players are all fully bought in too. Selling any key members of this team will destabilise it enough to derail our chances of automatic promotion, even if we find great replacements. Similarly, any new signings have the ability to upset the group chemistry. Though I do believe we need another forward or two. IF we could get a Maja type in for that period when injuries and suspension bites and get 5-10 goals from them it would surely secure us with a place in the playoffs? Could Dack be this player though? Huge month ahead. I’d be very happy to lose no one, sign no one and have Dack and JRC firing by Feb 1st.
  17. An excellent team performance which deserved all three points and 5 goals. You wouldn’t want to play against us right now. DL and Buckley absolutely sensational.
  18. Eh? Come on pal, you know I love you but I’m willing to say right now that you’ve made this up!! No way did you (or anyone else on this planet) predict that Rovers were targeting the top 6 AND BBD would replace AA’s goals! 🙈🤣
  19. Thanks for your opinion. 👍🏼
  20. As I said, I’m happy to trust Park because my understanding is that HE chose the players I listed. All of whom are good players in my opinion. If you don’t feel the same about either Park OR the players then that’s your opinion. The sentence I’ve highlighted is a frame of mind I’ve found to be instrumental in life….as with every threat or adversity comes equal measures of opportunity and optimism. No one could’ve seen losing 11 first team players in the summer as anything other than adverse, a threat to our place in the Championship?. But the remaining players (and manager) obviously saw it as an opportunity and look how it’s unfolded…👍🏼
  21. Prepared to be disappointed 🙈
  22. I don’t think so. Different context being within reaching distance of promotion. Plus the sale of AA and the training ground has improved our FFP position now..
