  1. I’d look into why Mowbray has done the interview. Not his style. Obv wanted to get his point across. Under pressure?
  2. There’s a lot of blustering back and forth about Buckley but as I’ve said on several occasions, he is seen as ‘the one’ and the LT article only adds strength to that. Show me one other young player he’s spoken about like that since Travis!!? Regardless of others opinions I haven’t seen enough to concur with theirs (and those PL scouts) about how good he is / potentially is. But I do trust the opinions of the people who work every single day with the players. I also know (and have said prior to yesterday’s article) that there have been many requests from clubs to loan him and they turn every one down because they believe he is that good....hence why he’s our most utilised young player.
  3. Ok, one of the highest. Makes no difference and to sack him after 15 games would’ve exacerbated the ‘basket club’ reputation and more importantly weakened our chances of coming straight back up.
  4. I think Mowbray is feeling the pressure of his early season eulogising! Everyday there’s something else now...the pitch, the schedule, COVID, injuries, budget, size of the analyst room etc...when a manager starts to do that it’s because basically they’ve blown their load. He’s been talking about this journey and our ‘transition’ into this possession based team for 18 months but the end of the road is in his sights now. This is his team, playing his way and sadly it’s not working. That leaves managers in a really tight spot... I really hope it doesn’t become to painful for him. I genuinely think he’s a good guy who’s done a good job but he’s in danger of ruining all of his own hard work. Those suggesting he’s immoral and topping up his pension are wrong. By all accounts he’s and absolute gentleman and no one works harder. Spends a lot of time away from his family. Really hope he can turn it around but it’s starting to feel like the beginning of the end for him. Be nice if he got the Celtic job tbh...then he could leave with his head held high and we can freshen it up. Let’s see.
  5. I don’t think he deserved to go in the circumstances. He had 15 games and we went down on the highest points total in the history of the Championship.
  6. It’s really simple. His target is the top 6. If he misses it by a hairs breadth, questions will be asked and he may lose his job. If he misses it by a country mile the. He has to go, one way or the other. Most know that my glass is usually half full when it comes to the manager, but I felt these three games were crucial (Stoke, Swansea & Boro.) The season will be over with anything less than 4pts over the next two games imo.
  7. There’s nothing ‘reactionary’ to my post and any credibility in your theory would depend on you having the slightest idea what Mowbrays position is within the club....which I’m pretty sure you don’t. For all we know he could lose every game for the rest of the season and still be the manager. So best to leave your judgement on my ‘thinking’ hey? The notion of wanting the team to lose has never sat right with me. Supporters want their team to win. The end.
  8. I’m sorry, but you’ve COMPLETELY lost the plot. Whatever will be will be but to not want Rovers to win is scandalous.
  9. Dack, Travis and Johnson very poor. Douglas best game, Branthwaite promising, Holtby, Buckley, Brereton and Davenport changed the game and probably deserve starts vs Swansea. Overall, a terrible performance that we deserved nothing from. 0-75mins made my eyes bleed. 75-90 mins was acceptable. Not good enough.
  10. The offside decision was atrocious. But let’s not beat about the bush, we are a fuckin dreadful team. Very poor.
  11. Mate, I’d hazard a guess you know very little about Whitemans skill set. Like the rest of us. From what I’ve seen he wouldn’t get a game over the likes of Trav, Rothwell or Holtby. So why we gonna pay £4m for him to sit on the bench. Its done. But for Sparks love in with him I’m not sure if anyone in here would have a clue who he was...best of luck Ben but we’re Blackburn Rovers!! NEXT!!!
  12. I think Pickering has come from left field as it looks like Crewe have had a change of heart and decided (at £500k) to give him away! They must need some cash...Either way they’ve obviously gone back to V’s for more cash and guess what the answer was!? I reckon there’s a good chance this will get done with incentives added. Branthwaite is a Cumbrian lad with links to one of the coaches. Can’t see him wanting to go down to Bournemouth when he can stay at home and play for us. May get decided by who can contribute the most wages.
  13. Ahhhhh so it turns out Tony just asked....it’s all you have to do!! 😉
  14. You’re shooting off in different directions here. His stated target was the top 6. That’s it. The fact is he’s 5pts off it with half the season to go. If that gap widens as the game ticks down then contextually we move further away from that goal and the likelihood of a change in manager increases. As I’ve said, I’d make the change because I don’t see that this team has the minerals to do it but my opinion is irrelevant as to whether the owners change the manager.
  15. I’m not arguing with you and with Stoke, Swansea and Boro in the next batch I’d say it’s 75% likely our season will be over by Feb based on current form.
  16. That’s the thing though, it sounds like both you and I don’t believe he’ll get us into the top 6 BUT that’s where your argument falls down mate because our opinion doesn’t matter! He has a target. But the only opinion that matters on when he’s missed it, is theirs!!
  17. I accept that. I’m not in any way happy with where we are but ultimately, his target is top 6 and he’s still close enough with a better goal difference. That’s the way they’ll see it imo.
  18. I’d stick until we are out of the top 6 running. Top 6 was his ‘self imposed’ and is now the clubs target. As per yesterday’s post I personally don’t feel there are the winners in this squad to get us into the top 6. But that is purely my opinion. So I expect the club to reassess in the summer. I feel that IF we fall far from this target, Mowbray may indeed walk and / or a change will be sought. But until then I’d be shocked to my core if anything changed on the manager front. Ultimately we’re 5pts off our target with half the season to go. That will be their focus!
  19. What on Earth are you talking about. I stated clearly in the summer that it was top 6 or gone for Mowbray.
  20. They’re two separate issues. Mowbrays job is to get us in the top 6. If he can’t do that then he needs to go. However, regardless of who the manager is, a blind man can see we need cb’s.
  21. My expectation on Mowbray is that his team has to get into the top 6 this season. He’s focused a lot on getting footballers in but there’s no winners in that team. Craig Short, Garry Flitcroft types...we’re so weak and predictable. tip tapping around but no one crashing into tackles or busting a gut. No one playing brave passes through the lines. No one played well today but Buckley, Brereton, Travis and Bell (obvs) were literally horrible. Weirdly, still had enough chances to win the game. We will win games, but without big bollocks you ain’t achieving anything. Team of absolute pussyclarts. Simple as this for me. No top 6, sack the manager.
  22. Not enough winners in that team. Can’t see them going up in a million years. They have to replace the manager.
  23. We do now with 3/4 of our cbs injured!! Ffs it’s not hard lads
