  1. With Forest in particular the abstractions were the biggest problem. Our flow was massively interrupted. We had chances against Cardiff and because we didn’t take them they never had to come at us....the extra quality HAS to change that for us.
  2. 100%....in the past we’ve struggled to beat teams who put a low block on simply because we didn’t have the quality to unlock the door. The Cardiff and Forest games followed this exact pattern too. We’ve got to find the quality to score and bring them out. Once they start coming onto us we’ll do them.
  3. I agree...this is a big test of whether the new signings have improved us enough to create chances, take them and then draw these teams out! Any result is possible. I feel that IF we get the first goal then Reading will come at us and we’ll take them apart. Looking forward to it!
  4. That’s a worry...I still think the introduction of the new players can be the difference. We are far more potent than Rotherham. We’ve got to take our chances and draw them out...
  5. Yup. Dack is top 1% in the division. It’s like us signing a £20m attacker to add to our ranks! ?
  6. Everyone has their opinions. There’s a lot worse things get said...Chaddy takes some ridiculous stuff from the usual suspects in here. The same people who from time to time will freely say stuff to others in, including me. It’s not my thing to get upset. It really doesn’t matter to me but I do like to engage them from time to time purely as a bit of sport. The adults roll with it quite well and we laugh it off in private messages or further down the line...interestingly the ‘usual suspects’ it would seem don’t like feeling uncomfortable or laughed at in the way they make others feel and therefore take hum bridge about my comments. You’ll see the ‘Kevin Costners’ in here jumping to the defence of their pals....but I see em pal... I have explained this to you because I genuinely respect your point of view mate. You’re one of the good guys!!
  7. Agree completely on worrying more about beating the teams who come to stop us and there will be many more who do so with the way we’re playing. Hopefully the injection of quality in all areas of the pitch and the return of Dack will mean we can unlock those teams in the future. As for being ‘some way’ off finishing 6th....WTF!!? We’re physically 2pts off there now, have scored 4 twice, 5 once, 4 clean sheets in 7 games and being described as ‘Dark horses’....if we’re “some way off” I don’t know what we’d have to do to be “in the mix” ???
  8. Before yesterday I wouldn’t have said Buckley needs games elsewhere. But the surprise package is Johnson who I thought was a ‘6’ all day - sits in, breaks play up and dictates. Trybull, I believe was brought in to cover / replace him. Which would’ve left Bucko covering the two ‘8’s’ - high quality / energy players: Holtby and Rothwell. However, Johnson, it has turned out is better as an 8 than a 6. So when Rothwell is back I expect those three to fight for two spots...leaving Bucko behind them. Of course he’ll have chances but maybe they will let him go at Christmas when Trav gets back so he can play consistently? I wouldn’t have let him go this summer though. I also think Dack might get played in there too...jeez we’ll have some attacking force when he gets back!
  9. Yes yes, we lost...as many teams who played very well have. Yawn
  10. I think ‘occasionally patronising’ is better, but he deserved it. What’s it to you? Stick me on ignore fella. I love it, my list grows daily ??
  11. I think his choice of Elliott in the first game and then Elliott, Trybull and Douglas into the second are significant indicators that he sees them very much as first team regulars. Fingers crossed. What was interesting yesterday was watching Douglas (who has more quality in his right swinger than Bell has in his entire body) but physically began to show signs of fatigue early in the second half. This is unsurprising because of the intensity that we played at but flies in the face of those who claimed a ‘Bielsa’ signing would have far higher levels than our players....either way, he definitely needs to build his fitness up.
  12. There were several Comms into our players / staff last week from players and staff at Watford saying they hadn’t even been dominated like that in many Prem games last season. The Watford manager was blown away apparently, it doesn’t surprise me that they mentioned us in their pre match programme notes as the best team they’ve faced. They know it was daylight robbery. It’s a game of opinions but yeah, I’ll go with my own eyes and the subsequent opinions of people in the game who understand it. Their ‘bullshit’ smells a lot better than yours ?? There’s a lot of big clubs and teams taking notice now but let’s not get ahead of ourselves. It’s still early doors but if we carry on playing like this I’d expect a huge attempt to raid our assets from big spending Championship clubs like Watford and Bournemouth. I also believe a few of them will be playing in the Premier League next season, whether we are or not.
  13. Absolutely mate, Anyone with football knowledge can see that we obliterated Watford. It was like one of those iconic giant killing matches where everything the underdog does works and their keeper somehow keeps the giants out. This team already has and will continue to inflict heavy defeats on teams this season. We hog possession and are utterly relentless in our closing down. The most pleasing part of our play are the constant waves of attack after attack...it must be a bloody nightmare to play against us now. Get the consistency and we’ll finish comfortably in the top 6 and potentially the top 2.
  14. Do whatever makes you feel warm and fuzzy Josh. Jordan Rhodes is a world class finisher stuck in the body of a Dog and Duck, Sunday league footballer. I watched him play week in week out and other than when he scored his influence was non existent because the games were being played far beyond his level.
  15. It was always very dangerous to write him off. VERY highly rated around the youth circuit and expected to go into big things. Tell you what, you wouldn’t wanna play against him, Arma and Elliott would you!? Pace, power, finishing and an eye for a pass!
  16. I like Nyambe but he’s never nailed that RB position down and so whilst JRC doesn’t have his physical prowess Defensively, he is far and away a better and more intelligent footballer. As evidenced from the pass JRC played to Brereton for the penalty - a pass that Nyambe couldn’t even dream of seeing, never mind executing...be interesting to see how that battle pans out but it’s a good problem to have.
  17. Errrrm no he was not...not even close imo. Rhodes in his pomp had the finishing of Defoe and the overall footballing ability of a league 2 player. Arma will evidence the huge difference in ability by the level he plays at. He will be in the Premier league next season whether or not we are.
  18. There’s many have said it before. Williams has always been a sound Championship CB and w distinctly average LB. At 27 he’s just about to hit his peak which is probably a ‘good, solid’ Championship CB. But make no bones about it...he has been our best defender and with 4 clean sheets in 7 that says a lot about the level of his performances.
  19. Fantastic football that. Elliott, Arma, BB and Holtby must be frightening to play against. Douglas and Trybull are massive improvements...wait until Dack, Trav and Rothwell are back!! ?
  20. That’s as an attacking lineup as he can field today...bring it in
  21. I haven’t lauded the result. I’ve lauded the performance which as @Bbrovers2288 so eloquently put shows we have “the ingredients for a top season” The ‘football man’ comment was a direct lift from his post...I just flipped it. Won’t have gone down too well but he’s a big boy. But genuinely, only a layman looks at the result of a match...appreciate your opinion. We lost, it’s disappointing but WOW that was a very good performance and one that 9/10 times results in a convincing win. I’d have been disappointed with a draw!!
