  1. No, don’t make this out to be something it isn’t. If you can’t afford a ticket then you can’t afford it. I know how bad the employment situation is and my company has employed over 250 extra people since March. People who lost their jobs in the blink of an eye after years of service in various industries. I’ve also employed people off this board and offered to help others in private conversations. The “stop whinging...” is to those with the means to pay who are hiding behind their “disgust” at the extra £20 and a delay on releasing the details.
  2. Yes mate. They’ve been terrible. There’s no more negative adjectives that I can say to describe their tenure that haven’t already been said. But it’s your club. Our club. We’ll still be here long after Swag, Mowbray and Venkys...so collect your toys, stick your bottom lip back in and support your club in its hour of need.
  3. Maybe they will mate, who knows? Historically they’ve been pretty fair with ticket prices but someone has to pay the bill and tbf it’s not been the supporters so far has it?
  4. Nah that’s just a load of waffle for me. Mines gone up what £20 for the year? Could the deal have come out quicker? Yeah I guess it could....but people are making out like they’ve REALLY let us down. When you put it together, it’s not a bad deal at all. My view on those debating - stop whinging, Get your hands in your pockets and support your club. Worst case scenario you watch 30 games online and get £170 off next seasons ticket price. ??‍♂️
  5. Eh? Am I missing something here? What more can they do but to offer season tickets for £399 with 30 efl passes included worth £300 and £170 worth of refunds on next seasons ticket cost? Effectively getting £470 worth of value for £399 AND supporting your club in the meantime...they even let you pay monthly...seems more than fair to me?
  6. I’m with you in one respect, if we win then it really doesn’t matter how. But as I’ve got older I’ve developed less and less tolerance for crap football. I used to watch every single match I could. Now I often stop short of watching lots of matches because I can’t stomach watching teams who can’t pass 5yrds without giving the ball away....and there’s a lot of them! As I said from the beginning, I’m not debating if this team is better, just if it plays a better (easier on the eye) brand of football. Completely understand if you can’t / don’t want to see the difference.
  7. Bang on. Never understood this rhetoric that he won’t drop his favourites. He’s a manager judged on his teams performance. If he had the chance he’d replace any one of them with a better player....because it takes him closer to his and the clubs goal. Makes no sense to suggest he’d do otherwise.
  8. Great call on the Hodgson team. Was a brilliant footballing team that... fyi - I don’t think the 94/95 team was a brilliant footballing team. They were amazing in so many ways and constructed beautifully with some top players. But I think they were much more functional than attractive to watch. Hughes’ Rovers we’re likewise very good but primarily we’ll functioning. in my lifetime I’d go Hodgson first season and then Souness which came up as the best brand of football I’ve seen. Give me a season of what I’ve seen in terms of football in the last four games and it will run very close. Very easy on the eye!
  9. I remember watching us win 1-0 in the last few minutes at home under Big Sam having endured 80 odd minutes of turgid crap football and walking out feeling awful.
  10. Yessss! I agree. The football in that first season with Roy was class! FYI - we’re talking about the football being played not the success.
  11. Hahahah - so let me get this right....we DONT sign anyone from the European network, then the manager and club are useless...we DO sign someone from the European network and it obviously must’ve fallen into our lap!? ? Your theory about left backs and Bell is a stab in the dark at best! You couldn’t write it...
  12. I spoke to a Rovers fan yesterday who had been watching us from the early 90’s (Pre-PL like me) and stated boldly that he had NEVER seen Rovers play better football than the first four games (inc cup) of this season under Mowbray! I was gobsmacked!!! “What? Better than Kenny’s Champs? Than Hughes team? Than Souness’ team the year they came back up? The Kean team...(only jokin)” but you get gist... His answer was “I’m not saying this team is better those teams but even the year we won the league we didn’t play better football than this.” What do you think? Mowbray bringing the BEST brand of football we’ve ever played? It’s too early for me to decide.
  13. I still think a deal for Manning might happen. The guy isn’t even appearing on their bench at the moment... Agree re the European scouting network and feel the best chance of utilising it again this window is for another keeper. Although, having watched Kaminski four times now, he looks better than Raya and Walton combined and is worth the set up on his own! Sign one player per window at that age and level and you’re going in the right direction!
  14. Haha I meant Harris! Got Warnock on the brain from this board!
  15. That dinosaur Warnock and his bunch of cloggers will be shitting themselves coming up against the likes of Dolan, Arma, dare I say Brereton, Holtby and Rothwell....we’ve too much speed and trickery for them...but will they batter us into submission?
  16. Kin ell - you waited 12 months to pull that one outa the bag!!? ???? I was wrong, Holtby is a fine CM.
  17. I’m pretty sure we’ll get a keeper and a LB in before October 5th. Interesting to see how sales of Raya and King, internal sales / loan outs effect our ability to sign better players. The Rovers management team smell blood and they’re not going to want to bring squad fillers in. The next few signings could be the difference between going up and not going up. Go back and ask Tony!!!
  18. By the way...that first time pass with the outside of the boot from Holtby to Chapman who laid on the goal for Armstrong was absolutely filthy! ?
  19. It was a tactical and playing masterclass. We were as good without the ball as we were with it. Shout out to Brereton who I thought had his best game in a Rovers shirt yet. He was strong, assertive and controlled. Threatened for 90 mins. Wish he’d got himself a goal. Dolan has a touch of Raheem Sterling about him. Seems to drift into those back stick tap in positions effortlessly and those feet...wow! Williams, Holtby, Kaminski, Johnson and Rothwell all very good too. The VERY exciting thing however is that we still have Ayala, Nyambe, Travis, Dack and Gally to come back into that team as well as Buckley, Butterworth and Vale etc banging on the door....?
  20. Yes that’s right, cracking player in that league, no so in the Championship. Dack is very much the exception to the rule. Anyone who has been following Rovers over the past few years knows how big a gulf in quality that was.
  21. Unsurprising after a 5-0 win. Wonder if it’s Gallagher for Davenport on the bench? Ayala for Wharton?
